  3. Hi. I think for purposes of meeting the CRL requirements, I’d stick to a pair of simple black boots with the leather strap on top of the bridge of the foot. As for the weathering, a silver-gray color should get you closer to the actual game render. There are instructional videos out there teaching you how to simulate the weathering with white shoe polish (Darth Cephalus did this one). For me, I got boots with gray weathering which was less work for me but I had to modify a new item. YMMV. The problem with many of the figures (including the most recent Hot Toys model) is that the artists come up with their own rendition of the character. Even though they often say game accurate, it’s not. That being said, the game came out over 2 decades ago so I can imagine why a lot of people want to “update” his look. While this is doable, veering off the CRL won’t be helpful. Even the Hot Toys one had armor plates over the shoulders which is not in the CRL. It should only be cloth that is wrapping around his shoulders. My suggestion, stick to the CRL for approval. 😁 I’m sure @DarthValkyria has a whole soapbox dedicated to all the newer “game-accurate pieces” that have come out. Good luck!

    Revan Boots

Hello, I am just starting to build my Revan kit, and I feel pretty good about most of the pieces and how I plan to approach them. I am a little unsure about the boots. The basic concept of them being black with the leather strip over the top is straight forward enough. I am thinking about going with the crowprops boots. However the level 2 part about them having silvery-gray weathering is hanging me up. Is it as simple as using something like silver rub and buff and scuffing the boots up? When I look at the resources I have actually on hand it looks to me like rather than weathering there is more a silver armor/plating covering the boots/shins. I have no idea how much “artistic liberties” the companies have been allowed to take, but they all are pretty consistent with there being armor over the top of the boots and shins. I have the hasbro black series Revan, gentle giant Revan statue, looking at the recently announced hot toys sixth scale Revan. I quite like the idea of making some shin/foot armor, would this be allowable? Thanks for the help!
  8. torso armor is remade to further reflect the muscular physique of darth bane, the armor is 100% molded and custom to the costumer. a lvl 0 design is being brainstormed for the crl page, should the design be concluded to a 3d print file, the file will be provided to interested members here on the build page(last photo is the old suit)
  9. Hello and thanks for the reply! In fact similar to those of the pilot tie I had found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.it/Costume-medievale-rinascimentale-swordsman-sfoderata/dp/B07J2SZ9TX?ref_=v_sp_product_dpx&th=1 But I should know with greater certainty the actual length of the gloves, avoiding spending a considerable amount of money to have unusable gloves. If anyone can also advise me of links to products that may be suitable, I would thank you infinitely!
  10. Ok I got my kit year before the pandemic and spent like 1300$ almost for it from him. The stuff came to me in horrible shape. I am finally trying to overcome th hurdles of this costume that has been the bane of my existence. I had many issues with quality and things not fitting correct even after given him my precise measurements and told him to go a little bigger on everything for was starting to bulk up some for was going to the gym which was not done. My last major issue with this costume I am trying for the life of me to figure out and make it look right is the cowl drapes. How does one situate it so it hangs back over the shoulders and to the back? I am thinking is part of my reason I am having such a hard time is he made it too small to fit me correctly like everything else. Hell the mask did not even cover my face correctly my chin was sticking out and the side of my eyes were protruding from the side of the mask. So please anyone with help or do you think I might also need to get a new cowl made like I did with most of the soft goods. How does one go about securing those side piece of fabric?
  11. Some updates on the Jedi belt. Did some research and found out Tandy dark brown pro dye could work or chocolate brown to darken Hetts belt. I may weather the buckle and other greeblies. Next, I will update and weather the soft goods.
  12. Hello everyone and sorry in advance for my bad English! I'm recently trying to make the Darth Bane costume with the Orbalisk Armor looking for inspiration in the post and fantastic costume for The Clone Emperor. My doubt currently is about the glove version, which I reused from one of my Darth Nihilus costumes, but which looking in the photo seems too long and makes the Emperor ones look better. I show you two photos for reference: So I wanted to know if you could recommend some gloves similar to the ones in the second photo since I can't find them! Basically they should be similar to those of Maul & Nihilus but not long enough to reach the elbow,so avoiding the ugly "funnel" visual effect. Thank you very much for helping!

  14. Well that was awkward, not really any new angles on the new inquisitor
  15. Hello there. I am a 501st member newly approved as Darth Nihilis. Please see my 501st profile link below and grant me access to the detachment forum. Thank you! https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=29673
  16. You have to manually request it by editing your profile, and then it is manually approved by the DL/XO after verifying that the person has a TFE account.
  17. Greetings! I have a question, my CotF Nihilus was validated a couple of months ago, but I still don't see the Flagship Eclipse detachment on my 501st page. What should I do to get officially affiliated to the detachment ? Many thanks !
  18. Crowpops will do based off vader 3 piecesuit. Just let him know you want IK https://crowprops.bigcartel.com/product/vader-3-pieces-suit

  21. Hello everyone! I'm Kyle. I recently just joined the Starkiller Garrison Academy here in western Pennsylvania, and I am starting my first costume as Darth Revan currently! I plan to do several over the years, but I have a special affinity to the sith characters of The Old Republic and then general Star Wars video game realm. I'm really excited to be here as a prospective member! I've always wanted to join!
  22. Hiya! Requesting FSE access please. SL-41814-Nihilus K2 https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=31642
  23. Yes, definitely recommend waiting for TotE to get a better idea!
  24. That’s amazing, thank you! I think I’m going to work on some of the hardware now and wait until we get a better look (hopefully) next month too!
  25. Hi Kyle, When I started doing some research into this costume, I messaged @Cookiedala for some advice, she mentioned this about color: " I would really go for a charcoal grey (almost black!) color and weather slightly on that." I would agree that a dark grey is the way to go with the capes and suit and leave the boots, gloves, and forearm bracers to be black. I know we will be getting some additional looks at this character in Tales of the Empire which releases May 4 and I just learned that there will be a limited series of comic books on the Inquisitors releasing in July! I am hoping we can get some additional images and hopefully a name/number for this Inquisitor in the comics. I am holding off starting my own Research/WIP thread until after those two new resources come out. I am excited to see that you are working on this costume!
  26. Thanks to my wife... I was able to find a simple solution to the cape drooping off the top and falling around the shoulders. I've secured the cape on top of the shoulders by needling a black thread around 4 inches long from the outer portion of the cape to the inner portion weaving through the gathered parts. The length is obviously something that needs to be tailored to your shoulder width. I did this on both sides. I've attached a primitive illustration of what I did and this is looking at the cape from the person's back. If you have a WA kit, you'll know what I'm talking about. I've tried moving around and it seems to hold up well with minimal drooping. I hope this is helpful to those of you who are consistently fixing their cape. Also, please let me know if you have a better solution. 😁
