  2. Barriss Offee Traitor

Hello all. I am a newbie beginning my first build: Barriss Offee the Traitor (as featured in The Clone Wars, TCW) and I’m beyond excited. No current CR in the Library, so I’m using the Rebel Legion CRL (which seems based primarily off Episode 2) and modifying it with information that I’ve compiled from my own TCW screen stills. I am dedicated to detail and accuracy. My goal is to create an amazing build and help in creating a CRL deserving of this amazing group of people. Photo references and my proposed CRL forthcoming. Then building...

  4. I have been researching this build (Barriss Offee Traitor). Posted introduction in General section. Very excited to start my build thread but after reading the rules, I'm still unclear where I should post it. Once I get more info on where to proceed, I'll move forward. Here is what I've compiled so far from TCW screen stills [episode in which Anakin confronts Offee and has her convicted for setting up Ahsoka]: Her skirt is full and brown (unlike Rebel Legion CRL which is black fit & flare). There are quite a few differences between the RL CRL and what I believe an accurate TFE CRL should be. I edited the Rebel Legion CRL to fit Barriss Offee as in TCW below, changes are in all caps, photo detail from the TCW episode artist board showing color difference between the black suit Offee wore when impersonating Ventress and the brown hued regular clothes she wore: REQUIRED ITEMS 1. NO CLOAK REQUIRED. 2. Black or very deep, DARK BROWN long-sleeved top made of non-shiny/matte material that should appear horizontally ribbed. Top should be fitted and sleeves must cover wrist and fit tightly to the wrists (OPTIONAL: ROUNDED EDGE CUFF SLIGHTLY EXTENDS OVER DORSUM/TOP OF HAND). Top must have a front middle panel WITH WIDER (1.5X WIDER) HORIZONTAL RIBBING THAN THE REST OF THE TOP. MIDDLE PANEL BEGINS AT LEVEL OF CLAVICLES, is NARROWER at the top (WITH STERNAL NOTCH PIN TUCK), WIDER AT BREASTS, then TAPERS UNTIL JUST WIDER THAN BELT BUCKLE at the bottom. Top must be tucked inside skirt. 3. Must have a BLACK OR DARK BROWN (MUST MATCH COLOR OF TOP) fitted NON PATTERNED hood or separate fitted cowl to COMPLETELY cover NECK, hide hair and ears. OPENING AT BACK FROM TOP OF HEAD POSTERIORLY UNTIL NAPE OF NECK TO EXPOSE STRAIGHT, SHORT, LAYERED, CHIN/MID NECK LENGTH BLACK/BROWN HAIR. 4. DARK BROWN (SLIGHTLY LIGHTER COLOR THAN TOP) FLOWY FULL A-LINE full-length non ribbed skirt made of non-shiny drapey material. Skirt should be DRAPEY/FULL A-LINE to the ground. Top and skirt are to be two separate pieces. SKIRT SHOULD RIDE AT THE HIPS. 5. ANKLE LIGHT OR MEDIUM GREY boots, CUFFED ABOVE ANKLE. Boots should have a heel but no higher than 2 INCHES. 6. 19 Black Facial diamond tattoos with pale very light yellow base makeup. Lips should be black. BLACK EYELINER AROUND EYES, GRADUATED CAT EYE ON UPPER LIDS. 7. Tattoos also on top of the hands CENTERED, BUT CLOSER TO KNUCKLES. Black painted nails. Hands should also have the same yellow base. 8. Dark brown leather belt with heart-shaped decoration on buckle. Belt should be approx. 7-7.5cm in width. Buckle is 0.5-1cm thicker. BELT IS WORN AT THE HIPS. Decoration is a love heart shape in a bronze and gold colour. COPPER COLORED LEAF-LIKE DETAILS AT BASE OF HEART. There are also GOLD DOUBLE HASHMARKS (LIKE TIES) FRAMING THE edge of decoration. UNLIKE REBEL LEGION CRL, THERE IS NO LEAF-LIKE DETAIL ABOVE THE HEART. BROWN COVERTEC (WITH GREY WEATHERING) BETWEEN BUCKLE & LEFT HIP BELT LOOP. 9. OPTIONAL: ASAJJ VENTRESS LIGHTSABER HILTS (not a toy). If using BLADES THEY must be RED. 10. ?OPTIONAL? LEATHER (OR LEATHER LOOKING) COMMUNICATOR GAUNTLET ON LEFT ARM WITH HEART DETAIL AT BASE. SAME COLORS AS BELT BUCKLE. OPTIONAL LIGHT GREEN GLOWING COM SPEAKER/BUTTON. LENGTH FROM WRIST TO A FEW INCHES BELOW ELBOW. IF USED, LONG DORSAL CUFFS SHOULD PEEK OUT APPROX. 2 INCHES FROM BENEATH THE COMMUNICATOR. 11. OPTIONAL: AZURE/CORNFLOWER BLUE CONTACTS WITH BLACK RIM

  6. Hood and capalet

Hi there... so Is the hood and capalete one piece or 2 piece? And I noticed that the hood if 1 piece alone looks like a lego hood piece... and also for the black sash on the O ring is it pleated? Also what do you use for the belt of the kama ? Does it have to be smooth so no elastics?
  7. Looking for ideas for my first costume

Which nihilus are you going to go with?? Check the CRL because the COTF Nihilus needs to have two tunics. MWA one only comes with one. He will make a second one with no issue but of course you have to pay for it. Its the one I have and out of the box needed no tweaking just the belt, boots, gloves and balaclava. I do suggest if you go with MWA by a black out face ( the spandex type), The plastic piece he sells is ok to see out of but sometimes if can be a pain and the hole need to be opened up a bit more for breathing. Let me/us know if you have any questions.

  9. Making of Mother Talzin costume

Hi everyone! I'm prospective member of Ukraine Outpost and I'm going to do Mother Talzin costume for approve me as 501st member. So I decided to create this topic to show my work step by step. There is no clear CRL yet for this character, so I'll better to show all process and correct possible mistakes during processing, it's much easier than remaking of finished costume. Also I hope that my research will be usefull to next people who will do this character. So firstly what exactly parts does it consist of. I analyzed Talzin's stuff and see there the next items: 1) Top with long sleeves. Red with pattern sleeves decorated with reddish brown stripe, other part is plain red. 2) Leggings. Red fabric with the main pattern. 3) Neck piece. It's rather collar of the top, but as my sewing experience shows, it's much easier to do it as a separate piece. Plain red, has thick bubbled ruffles. 4) Bodice. Reddish brown as sleeves decoration and the same matherial. V-shape neckline to the collarbone. I was thinking a lot about quantity of the stripes. There are only 6 visible, but seam lines on the bust part points that there are another pair covered with skirt. 5) Shoulder pieces. The same patterned fabric as on sleeves and leggings. The length of single piece is easy to determine according to arm length. It should be from shoulder to wrist. 6) Skirt. Made of red matherial similar to the backing color of sleeves/leggings/shoulders but with large dark red pattern. Underlayed with some tight matherial to keep shape. Consist of three pieces. Side pieces are 1/2 wide of the middle back piece on the hem line. The length could be determined according to leg length. In the original it's about 2/3 of hip to floor. 7) Criss-cross scarf (tabards?). Made of the same fabric as sleeves/leggings/shoulders. The left piece cross over the right one both at front and back. 8 ) Pleated sash with belt and decorative stripes. The sash itself fitted to body shape. It's made of plain red matherial and has 4 pleats over waist line and 3 under waist line. Brown belt is made of leather-like matherial few tone lighter that bodice and sleeves decorations. Two decorative stripes on the front (floor long, the same matherial as sleeves/leggings) and two short on the back (the same color and matherial as belt) 9) Back "wings" 10) Headpiece 11) Boots 12) Makeup About the fabrics. I did pattern based on the screenshots and printed it on a fabrics (polyester for most pieces and matte spandex for leggings). I also added weathered texture which also visible on the original fabric. Skirt pattern is in progress yet, but I will print it also on polyester. For the bodice I purghased reddish brown faux leather. And here are the fabrics itself. It's both looks allmost identical, spandex just a bit softer. (I need shoot it outdoor in daylight, indoor light "eats" the colors) And the bodice pattern unassembled/assembled on a dressform. About the back shape - I did it repeating the "wings" piece. That's I have at the moment. I will add new materials as I work on the costume. PS: my English is far from ideal, but I keep practice and I'll be really appreciated if you'll notice me about possible mistakes. PPS: and thanks to @romero4444 from this thread. He collected really great references base.

Thanks I'm hoping to get it done this weekend if time permits.
  13. Darth Revan Costume - WIP

Hi all, Today I want to share with you the gloves and the bracers. Although the bracelets could not take them to Argentina I could in this test make several tests with neodymium magnets and the structure itself of the bracers. Remember, this is considered as TEST, the final version I have to do it again. By the way this gave me gave me many ideas for future costumes .... if yes ... I have thought minimos 2 more ...! (Insert evil laugh here) Let's start by marking the tube for cuts. Cut, tested and corrected error (I added a little more plastic on both sides to close well by my arm) View of the total of the piece cut (Please ignore those marks with a marker, they are for another armor and an idea that came up for me later) After joining everything, sand and put first, the final test is done. Well, I hope you liked this friends that I shared with the greatest of tastes. As in Argentina on Monday is a holiday, I say goodbye to you until a minimum on Tuesday and have an excellent weekend. Norhiak out!
  14. Introductions and Pending Forum Members

Hi! I’m Kimia from Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas hoping to become a member of the Star Garrison. I am interested in helping build the CRL for Barriss Offee. I love the detail and passion that goes into the creation of these characters, and I want to be a part of the group responsible for them. The fun and charity of the 501st are also reasons for wanting to join.

    Looking pretty sweet!
  16. Ceris_Galstan - Seventh Sister WIP

I haven't disappeared I promise! Busy season at work is making it difficult to get back to my project. Pants are done, but still stuck on the gloves and boot cover. Once I have some time I will take some pictures and make a better update!
  17. Seventh Sister soft good help

Hello there! Just to echo Aglarwen, I don't believe there are any vendors for the soft parts (and I really wish there was...the gloves and boot covers are a nightmare for me right now haha). Here's what I've got so far on my build...hope it might help you! Looks like I need to update my thread as well... Coat/Pants: My coat and pants are done and were made from black and red gabardine inside and out (if lining needed). The red stripe down the side of the pants is gabardine too (made from strips of the red with the raw edges pressed to the center and sewn to the pants as they were being put together). Boots: I bought a pair I found from Target and glued some red marine vinyl around the heel for the flash of red once the boot cover goes on. Right now I'm stuck on a boot cover. I am using marine vinyl (ok per GML) and lining the inside so it stays rigid (might also add thick interfacing). The pattern I used did not make a good cover, so I will be scrapping it and making up a new one. It fit my calf just fine, but it did not taper to the boot so it doesn't sit right. My next attempt I'll be going with the "wrap my boot and leg in duct tape or plastic wrap" to make a new pattern. Once I get around to it, I'll update my thread (busy season at work makes it hard to work on costumes, blargh). Gloves: These right now are my bane. I have very little experience in gloves and each one I've made hasn't come out quite right. I think I'm close, but these have been very trial and error for me. The fabric I'm using on these are not gabardine, but a slightly stretchy fabric that has the same look as gabardine (as gabardine tends to fray something awful). I've been drafting patterns on freezer paper by drawing "hand turkeys" and measuring out a seam allowance from there. Here's a link to the tutorial I'm using if it helps: https://lulukocosplay.wordpress.com/2015/03/03/tutorial-the-easiest-gloves-youll-ever-make-probably/ . If I can't get these figured out, I may seek out help from a local seamstress. Sorry if this was rambling...I know it's hard to find some input on this costume so wanted to pass on anything I've learned Good luck!

  21. Asajj Concept neckseal/collar

No problem, happy to help. I know sewing that piece was one of the things my wife did several times to finally get how she wanted it (DS-7998 LadyB).
  22. Asajj Concept neckseal/collar

Thank you so much. I'll send it to him. Can't express my happiness haha.
  23. Asajj Concept neckseal/collar

Hello, Legion Membership Officer here. The Ep. 2 Concept Asajj can be seen with the collar armour going over her shoulders and also smaller and not overlapping like the Sideshow figure. Both are perfectly viable for approval. So long as it is well fitted and not bunching it should be fine. It should have clean lines etc. Feel free and have the GML post in the GML thread or contact lmo@501st.com if there are questions, thanks.
  24. Hello everyone. I need help from the Detachment leaders. I am working on my Asajj Ventress concept version and I can't get the collar right. Now my GML told me I could follow any reference, so I took the Sideshow action figurine. She had a round collar and my GML said I had to get a collar around my shoulders. I made this with a lot of problems, and then he said it was to 'messy'. I think it's because of the zigzag stitch which it needs for the stretching. now my question is, is a round collar also approvable, since the sideshow has it? thanks for the help. love, Msyt
  25. Seventh Sister soft good help

Thanks for the tips! I figured it was all custom fabrication for the soft goods, but it never hurts to ask in case someone out there has taken it upon themselves to start a side business doing them lol of course it wouldn’t be much of a business with just the Seventh Sister lol
  26. My Mara Jade WIP

Got my pieces from my artist. They are primed, but not painted as they have to get shipped off to my leather worker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  27. Darth Revan Costume - WIP

Hi all, Today i wanna share another part of the project... Today is the time for gloves and plates. Gloves buy it in Macy´s on Memphis, Mississippi Gloves fitting Now its time of PLATE (Test1) Build process Time to made some modifications Time to sand work Well, now i need use some putty and start to primer and paint. But not for now, i need finish all the other parts. See you tomorrow
  28. I am very close to getting my Revan finished for submission for the basic 501st approval. For the flagship I still have a couple of things left to do. Mainly the dropping of the o ring, the leather for the rings and the single piece bracers. (Trying to get a stl print file for those. Anyone who has that that could direct me to it would be appreciated lol.) The clips at the top of the armor will be replaced with the more accurate ones by the time I send my application for approval in. I did have a question for the red material at the bottom of the chest plate. What material would be better to us for it in your all's opinion? I shall include the link to pic of the armor as it sits now and the application pics once they are ready to send in. http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/LordVykous/media/IMG_20171112_142908_zpsmjqllssc.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1
