  1. I think it turned out ok. you might want to iron the material, so the image is easier to see.
  2. Ahh ok, yeah looks cool, very hard to see but cool nonetheless. Yeah after I posted my comment I realize I had seen that on the Sith Stalker before with the borders and colored images.
  3. Yup, most people just go with no pattern because it is so hard to see the details. But yours is looking pretty good, keep it up! Edit: Although the border around it is then making it look like it belongs to the Sith Stalker and not this costume, as there is no visible border in the hoth version.
  4. For the Royal Robes, I think there is enough there to build with. The Gauntlet/Bracer question is a difficult one, but might be solved with it being listed as an optional item for the costume in the CRL, as the majority of the time his arms are not visible anyway. This would then go into the role playing of this character and body language of not having your arms visible in every picture taken of you. The LMOs would be the best persons to ask, as this would be a new costume to the TFE and 501st, and it falls under their scrutiny. For the IK variation, this would also be a completely new costume to the TFE and the 501st, so again it would best be answered by the LMOs. I think that last pic you posted was just an error in coloring that they made the extra items red and not gold. I think there is enough to build this costume as well, with and IK being the base with the added Gold trimmed items making it unique. This costume would also be given its own CRL. I have linked this post to two of our LMOs, so it gets their attention, and then they can give you their opinions on the matter.
  5. Helmet: Wicked Armor (will add Vents and Smoke) I am not understanding the Vents and smoke comment, could you explain this in more detail? Lightsaber: Nocturne Armory or Ultrasabers ( Since Vaders Vault wont reply) If you want to get a reply from Vaders Vault, it usually works best when you go to their FB page and tag the Owners in your question. Their FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1553748611608080/ The owner I find who gives the quickest replies: https://www.facebook.com/deanna.johnson.948?fref=gs&hc_ref=ARQMWs7ugXZGeTlqy9kWZc5lLQUdtocuRB58SOReSYPpA8fJVo7f7pvf90xewfF7J1M&dti=1553748611608080&hc_location=group At the time of me making my costume, they were not offering the correct lightsaber for this costume, but that was a couple years back, so things may have changed. Looks like you are on the right path, keep it up!
  6. I don't know how long this will last but it works at the moment https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-embedded-imag/ogipgokcopooepeipngiikdkpmcpkaon?hl=en-US
  7. Welcome and congratulations on approval. You popped up on my Radar a day or 2 ago, I was just waiting for your TK number to be approved, before changing your permissions!
  8. Why don't you send Rob at MWA a message and ask him?
  9. You can make any costume you want ofc. If Legion would accept it, is ofc another question. I would talk to this LMO about it: http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/profile/55-ionicdesign/ Or just make this version instead, that is already approved and similar: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Ventress_BountyHunter I hope this helps.
  10. Yes acceptable, but the older versions needed some upgrades to keep it going. Maybe the newer versions are more durable, no one has made a Darth Malgus for the 501st in quite some time.
  11. Ahh hello neighbor, People who have made this costume before (2), and got their stuff from MWA, have also commented that they had to upgrade a lot of the pieces, so that they would be more durable. I just don't want you thinking that for that price you are done and good to go. The MWA Malgus is the best/ maybe only place to start, unless you are able to make the armor on your own. But then there will be several things to upgrade if you plan on wearing the costume more than a few times before it started to get destroyed. Currently pants can be black or grey.
  12. Fingers crossed! The biggest problem with the jumpsuit is using the wrong material. Med sheen that stretches in 4 directions, comes out looking like a shiny rubber suit or something in the look of a scuba divers wetsuit, very form fitting.
  13. Shin guards are fine Wig is fine goggles are fine Once you get the new silver connector, hopefully they will match up to the straps you currently have, and then they will be fine as well. The rivets in the belt will need to be removed, some really strong glue like E6000 or something similar may be able to take the place of the rivets. Let's look on the positive and get this costume done right, with as few mistakes as possible from this point going forward. The next big obstacle is the Jumpsuit, this you want to get right the 1st time around. Please read the CRL for this item carefully, understand all the different things required, and then lets get it done right, as this item really makes or breaks this costume.
  14. It works for me. And no need to be embarrassed, we have all been in your shoes before. If you want anything removed from your WIP so it's less embarrassing, just let me know and I can remove anything you want removed, to include my comments. Looking at drive now
  15. Another option you might want to give a thought. Try to find out where those who came before you ordered their stuff from. Go through the picture gallery list of all the DS and find the people who have made this costume, look up their TK number on the Legion website, and then try to contact those who have an email listed. (This is what I do when looking for answers, and no one seems to be reading my WIP, as I got ZERO help from anyone when I was making my Starkiller hoth) Tell you what, I will do you one better. I will look up the information myself, and I will send you a PM with a list of emails for anyone who has this costume and has an email listed in the profile. Then all you have to do is send a message to each email, asking them questions about where they ordered their stuff from. Look for a PM in a few mins.
  16. I am not eager to point out things that are wrong, it gives me no pleasure. Just as a GML is not eager to not approve a costume submission. It's the Responsibility that goes with the job. Also important to keep in mind, 501st elections are in Feb, and everything can change in some units after the election, to include the GML. The images you posted on 13 Nov looked good, but I also had no frame of reference to judge them by. The images you posted on 28 Nov were on a mannequin, also not the best frame of reference, because it's how it looks on the body. Why one of my questions was does the extra strap on the belt hang close to your body or stick out in the air, because on the mannequin it is sticking out in the air, and not knowing your body type makes it impossible to know how it will sit on your body. I am not trying to hurt your feelings by saying there are things wrong with your costume. I am saying it, because it needed to be said, and no one else was saying it. I am also not trying to argue with you about anything, I am just pointing out things that I noticed that are off or different than the reference materials. The next time you post another Item to this thread, send me a link in a PM, and I will give it my full attention, usually within a matter of hours.
  17. The straps have a measurement of 3 to 4 cm wide, says it in the CRL. The width of the strap is supposed to match up to the silver connector evenly. Your connection points are double the size of your straps, why I said your silver connector is double the size it should be. Everything I was pointing out are differences between your work and the reference materials. If you didn't want people to comment on your work, then what was the point of making a WIP thread? Besides commenting on people's WIP builds, I read everything on the forums, but it takes time to read everything, and sometimes other pressing matters distract me away from what I am reading. I also run the Forums, Change peoples forum permissions, Do Merch runs, write CRLs, Assist GMLs when they post costumes for review they are not sure about. Once in awhile I try to get away from the forums and have a life! You posted those 2 items in Nov, today is the next time you posted anything new with the wig pics. I usually let the peers who have already made the costume in question do most of the commenting, as no one pointed out the errors I saw, I finally did. We are trying to help you have the best looking costume you possibly can, if you don't want that help, that is your choice. Before you posted that you ran everything through your GML, I could not possibly know that information. I had a GML post pics for this very costume, with the very same mistakes as yours, not to long ago. I was trying to help you, by pointing out these mistakes before the point that a GML is posting the application pics for me to comment on. If your GML has already approved your items, the way they are with the things I pointed out wrong with them, then why do you even care what my opinion is? CRL Quote: The straps for the shoulder harness are made from brown leather that is approximately 3 or 4 cm wide.
  18. ok if you are using the Mara Jade: Black Bodysuit CRL as your reference, why then is yours different than the reference? Like I said above, the Silver connector on that is HUGE in comparison to the size it should be, and all the other things I was trying to point out to you that were wrong with the 1st two items you listed. Ultimately approval falls on your GML, we try to coach people into getting their costumes correct, so that approvals happen the 1st time someone submits their costume to their GML. If your GML is accepting your work, will all the things I noted wrong with it, that is up to your GML. If that is the case, I will stop commenting on your items as you post them. If your GML is accepting your work, with a look different than the Reference material, then I have no way of stearing you in the right direction, if I don't know what direction that is.
  19. So now I am confused. CRL stands for Costume Reference Library. There is no CRL for a "Decipher version" in the 501st. Please post a link to the CRL you are referring to, so I can take a look at it. The whole reason Detachments exist, is to help people with their builds, and to make sure they are accurate.
  20. Hello, I would like to know what reference materials you are using to base your look off of? A lot of your details are different that the reference materials I am familiar with, so I would be interested to know what are the Reference materials you are working off of? Have you looked at the CRL for this costume? CRL: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Mara_jade Shoulder Harness: The round silver connector looks too massive, the 3 connecting points are supposed to be roughly the width of the leather straps. While it has the correct look, it looks to be double the size it should be. See this pic: http://chucrew.com/Mara/wpimages/wpc5413a02.jpg Why are the straps doubled? Belt: Why are there 2 rivets in the belt, where the extra strap is fixed in the front, to the side of the belt buckle? Why are there 2 holes in the belt on the other side of the belt buckle? Is the extra strap going to drape over your hip like it is supposed to, or be hanging in the air? Holdout Holster: Why is the strap holding the pistol in the holster on the outside? The strap and opening of the strap are supposed to be on the inside. The holsters design is so that she can open the strap easily and quickly with her right hand. See this pic: http://databank.501st.com/mw501/images/1/18/SL-mara-blacksuit-holdout.jpeg
  21. The nickname given to the 2 pointy ends of the cloak at the tops of the head. It is supposed to look similar to cat ears, sometimes people make them and it looks more like mickey mouse ears, which would then get a negative comment. Your Cat ears were perfect.
  22. Yup, seen it, there were a couple comments made. Nice looking cat ears btw, don't know if your GML relayed my message? Lets us not forget, standards are there, to make you look your best, not to delay your approval. Also, the Detachment advises the GMLs if they have questions, but we DO NOT approve or disapprove anyone, that decision is the GMLs alone. We are a very active and very user friendly Detachment and Detachment Staff. If people need my help, feel free to contact me via PM. I'm easy, like Jello!
  23. This CRL is already in the list, but is empty. Once the write up is approved, the text can be added. Once someone shares their pics, the pictures can be added. For new costumes, not already listed in the CRL, yes you need the costume pics and the text before the CRL will be approved. In the TFE we have many costumes that were put on the list, but no one ever bothered to write up the text or add the pics, so I have spent the holidays writing up the text for a handful of these empty CRLs in our list. Rules changed for adding costumes to the CRL list, so I was doing what I could to add to those CRLs that we have that are listed, but 100% empty. The Shawl and her own lightsaber are not part of her look, once she became a traitor, those would only be for the RL Barriss Offee.
  24. Welcome! Once the SL-10835 is Official and showing up on your profile, let me know, and I will upgrade your forum permissions.
