  1. Just saw that my legion profile was updated. Nihilus approved! Thank you everyone. And a special thanks to @Heavy1973 for the very useful feedback!
  2. Thanks to my wife... I was able to find a simple solution to the cape drooping off the top and falling around the shoulders. I've secured the cape on top of the shoulders by needling a black thread around 4 inches long from the outer portion of the cape to the inner portion weaving through the gathered parts. The length is obviously something that needs to be tailored to your shoulder width. I did this on both sides. I've attached a primitive illustration of what I did and this is looking at the cape from the person's back. If you have a WA kit, you'll know what I'm talking about. I've tried moving around and it seems to hold up well with minimal drooping. I hope this is helpful to those of you who are consistently fixing their cape. Also, please let me know if you have a better solution. 😁
  3. I’ve modified some aspects of the costume based on feedback from @Heavy1973. Thank you! - Skirt: I hemmed the bottom to secure the edges - Cape: I took off an additional inch and now it no longer reaches the floor - Gloves: I folded the end once then stitched to secure - Balaclava: I remembered to wear one this time 😂 Updated pictures have been submitted to GML. I hope everything goes well. 🤞🏽
  4. Thanks @Heavy1973! I'm happy to hear that the skirt length is good. I will make some adjustments to shorten the cape a little bit more. Thanks for the input! As for the gloves, they end before my elbow, it's kind of hard to see since the shirt wrinkled where it met the gloves. I would be happy to fold them if you imagine this will be an issue. And I completely forgot to wear the balaclava for the pictures I submitted for approval. I may have to redo that 🤣 Appreciate it!
  5. I was able to test out the kit last night. I had to fold the skirt and cape so I don't clean the floor everywhere I go. I folded the skirt 2 inches and the cape 4 inches. IDK if folding the skirt at this length was too much and if I should go back to 1 or 1.5 inches instead. Looking at the images in the reference gallery, the skirt seems to be touching the floor (or really close to it) and the cape is hanging just a tad bit higher. CRL states the skirt "reaches nearly to the floor". Any thoughts are appreciated. I was able to hide the speaker underneath the cowl but was too sleepy to take more photos of it so I can do this next time. Sound glove fits nicely under the main black glove. Overall I'm happy with how it looks so far.
  6. I have a similar setup that I posted in this forum just last week. I did end up using just the mumbled audio clips since Nihilus didn't really speak that clearly (but I highly considered using it though because the audio was so well done). Make sure to use a wrap for the wires to keep them nice and clean. I also ended using a beefier amp, 30W and it holds up well. But I have to wait to get the costume and see how it will fit under the cloak. It's small enough that I think it will be ok. Looking good so far!
  7. Tagging @DarthValkyria who should give you more accurate answers. One thing to note though is that Revan's armor has a lot of intricate details so that might be your limitation with worbla on foam (unless you really nail the grooves/lines etc). I used a WA kit, which was molded ABS, and the details are amazing. Some of the 3D print I've seen here in the forum are good but will require sanding etc. I'm sure there are links, you just need to search 🙂 Best of luck with your build!
  8. So far, I’m happy with what I have. Can’t wait for this whole thing to come alive.
  9. Hi everyone. It’s been a quick one so far and now I’m thinking of my 2nd costume. It will be interesting to see how it looks and fits when the costume gets here. I got it from WA. A few things I will need to complete this build: 1) Boots - I’ll look for a different black pair since the boots I used before looks too “smart casual” and it has a zipper on the inside. I might look for a pair of boots that is similar to my Revan boots, but this time without the strap 🙂 2) Saber - It’s quite challenging to look for an exact replica, especially one that is installed. I messaged Nina about it and end up settling for a standard VV rev-n. It looks similar in form except the pommel is not roundish. I’ll see if I can get someone to manufacture a pommel that looks like what he uses but for now, this will do. 3) Voice amplifier/speaker - I plan to use a speaker and pair it with a 5-button sound glove unit and load it with a variety of Nihilus sounds. This is a work in progress while I’m looking for a unit that is slim enough to not look like I have a mass on my chest. 🤣 I’m in the process of cleaning up the audio and will map them out to the different buttons. So many moving parts and I will ask more questions as they come. My question for today is for those who use a soundboard/voice comm, does it sound like you are just trooping with a faulty speaker? I ask because unless people are aware of Nihilus, they won’t appreciate the sound produced. Thanks in advance and looking forward to completing this build! Rex
  10. The hilt is now weathered to my liking... I just have not been able to take a more recent snapshot. *pic for attention*
  11. Hello. Regardless of any affinity I might have with other characters in the Star Wars universe, I always seem to default back to Starkiller. I remember playing TFU as a kid but stopped because of other responsibilities. Now I'm back and want to finally start this journey. I already have his saber and would love to use it properly. Looking through TFE, getting the saber is one of the easier things to do My dilemma is that I normally shave my hair. Growing it back takes time and the color is black, more than dark brown. I don't mind shaving facial hair to simulate Galek Marek's clean look but the color is where I have issues of changing because of work. This is why the Sith Robes is a bit more appealing to me since the face is covered but one other reason why I am drawn to the Training Gear is because I want to maintain mobility. Trooping with Revan is amazing but I want to be able to run, jump, maybe even duel and not have to worry about a piece of the armor falling off My question to those of you who have approved Starkiller costumes: 1) How strict is the "dark brown" hair for approval? I realize this must be more of a @DarthValkyria question. 2) If #1 is a permanent roadblock, how much harder is it to build the Concept Sith Robes one? Is it easier or harder than building the TIE Factory costume? 3) Where do I even start? The whole process seems overwhelming and any guidance would be incredibly appreciated. 4) I would LOVE to build the Dark Lord's Armor but same as #3. I don't know where to start. I imagine this might be a future project once I've completed a 1st build... Unless someone can point me in the right direction then maybe I can jump on this instead. Thank you everyone!
