  1. Great suggestion L. Even a quick whip-stitch of a small piece of velcro can be a great addition to get something to stay where you want, but those 'fashion' clips are pretty innovative, and would be a good way to have something stay in place. I may try some on my outfit. Much less likely to cause me to bleed than using safety pins.
  2. Short fast response is: Absolutely. I don't have the setup tonight to take pictures for you, but I'll be happy to get my stuff out tomorow when I can drop boxes in the apartment and not get things thrown at me as a result. I will get you some quality photos tomorrow.
  3. Glad to see you're getting really close to finishing this up. Nice photo collection also by the way. Is there an issue with your Garrison/Outpost listing on your account? I can correct it if you would like me to.
  4. Hey there 6365 Welcome. Nef, one of our Costume Mentors is a particular expert on Nihilus, feel free to post your work in progress there and I'm sure she and others will have some great input for you. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Hey there Michael, charity and costumes might as well be as good as peanut butter and chocolate. I mean... at least I think so, I can't stand chocolate but everyone else seems to like it. We have some great info on the Acolyte here, be sure to dig around, find both screen reference as well as some great shots of what people have created, hopefully this will help you in your own art. And as always, we welcome work in progress photos and information to better help you... Plus, it's fun to watch. hey Chelsea, welcome, you Aussies have some great folks out there to hang out with, you're pretty darn fortunate. If you want help for information you're certainly in the right place and we'll help you in any way we can, what is great though is that I know you've got a great support team out there to help you in person also. Please let us know if we can help you with anything.
  5. Welcome Jon, we're glad to have you here. I know the desire to diversify, the Acolyte will be a cool costume to add I am sure. Check out the boards here, for the Acolyte, they're very informative. Some may require a bit of digging for the details you seek. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. Those new sabers are pretty nice Darien. I had a custom one made that took 2 years, so I know the pain of waiting. Hopefully you do get yours soon though, I've seen a couple in person and they're quite nice. We'd be happy to answer any questions you have over in the Revan threads. I also suggest some thorough digging around, there are a lot of old threads that have great information lurking about. Welcome Alex, there are a number of different people who make parts for that costume I believe, and our thread section has some of that information floating around. If you can't find what you're looking for, start a post there and shoot me a message, I'll do a little digging myself.
  6. The CRLs are a great guide, but definitely feel free to dig around on the threads and see if there is something that may still be useful to you. And certainly don't hesitate to ask questions. Welcome to the boards Clair! Welcome Maria, we're happy to help you get started and answer any questions you may have. Be sure to check out the respective boards for your costume and post your own work in progress for review if you like. Welcome Paula, feel free to read up on both costumes here and post your progress here, both for any assistance you may wish, and as inspiration for others. Hi Lunna, welcome to the boards, see the above post and we welcome any progress you two have made. Welcome Evelyn, we can certainly answer any questions related to the dear Mother, and if you have any other general costuming questions, we are a pretty good source there as well. Sorry to hear you've had troubles loggin in Tiffanie, please let us know if you have any other troubles, we're fairly quick about resolving any login issues.
  7. He might not be a "Sith" but Revan Reborn is genocidal. I'll support any application for him in the Legion.
  8. Rob is notoriously hard to get a hold of. His inbox is almost always filled to the brim. If you cannot reach him, keep trying. Other options are available, but for the quality and price, Rob is a great option if you can reach him.
  9. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CharacterApproval I don't think she'll end up meeting the darker side of the story requirement, however the worst thing that could happen is you submit for approval and are denied.
  10. Is your intent to represent Revan from the Old Republic MMO with that helmet? If so, that would be quite cool. None have been approved yet, you would be a first.
  11. If you ever get a chance to actually go into a TANDY, they are a neat place. One birthday my wife went with me and she let me spend some of her money. It was great!
  12. Convo moved to PM to keep everybody on topic! Woohoo! Hello and welcome! Hey Christina, welcome to the Flagship! We have a lot of great resources available her on paint, and costuming. Feel free to check those threads out and even start your own Work in Progress as you go. The first time someone identifies you as your character is the BEST! Here's to making more smiles!
  13. Welcome David! I'm the opposite, but current circumstances prevent me from having anywhere to work on my Merc kit http://imgur.com/a/8yI8t Naturally, feel free to check out the Revan threads, and there are PAGES of them. Lots of information to just fill your melon with. Then of course, a WIP thread of your own and feel free to ask questions. Let us know if we may be of any assistance.
  14. An oldie but a goodie, about 4-5 pages deep currently: http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/731-master-robs-revan/ \ (Edit: But now pinned/slightly modified to be updated)
  15. Awesome deal! We just had one approved that looked quite nice. Feel free to post progress/concept work here and keep us in the loop as you go. We'd love to help you along your journey.
  16. I feel your pain Eddie, I went from being in an area where I did over 30 troops a year, to now being happy to do one a month. Keep on keepin' on. As for Starkiller, check out those threads, learn what you can and feel free to ask any questions you may have. Rebel s... are wonderful! Welcome Tim, we have a lot of great Starkiller costumers on this side of the Force, just as do the Rebels, just remember which ones have the cookies. As for what to do, check out the existing topic, and then feel free to post a work in progress thread of your own. There are plenty of great folks around to give you some help. If you don't get help, let me know and I'll find some.
  17. Oh dear goodness, sorry for the issue there, I'm unsure of what the issue was but I switched your membership from 501st to Detachment, you should be set now. Please let me know if any issues continue.
  18. Hey there Mark, welcome back. Sorry for the trouble, it was an unforeseen occurrence when the forums migrated from one place to the other, glad to have you. Welcome Craig, if you need any help feel free to check the related threads and ask any questions you may have. Hey Austin, we're happy to help get you set up. There are a number of things that need to be done to make that costume 501st approved, but nothing too terrible. Check the existing threads first, and then feel free to start a WIP and we can help you with any steps along the way. Hi Quinn, that was likely a result of an error that occurred during the server migration. Glad to have you back. Welcome Caitlin, there's no time too early to start on your costume, we're happy to help you get started, and if you get enough of the prep work done, you could even consider trying to get your Join date the same as your birthday. Let us know if you need any help.
  19. Hello Sandy and welcome to the boards. If you need any help, feel free to ask. In the mean time, feel free to check out the existing threads on those characters.
  20. Fred, your forum access was only basic forum member, not 501st or Detachment, you should now have access to a lot more boards now. As to the original post, it's pretty much covered now by the other folks. I've tried making my original straps a little longer but that's only worn them out further. They don't last very long in their current condition before I have to repair them again altogether. I have a few other fixes in mind myself but I think you're covered now.
  21. Too late for a reply to the actual message, brain not functioning properly. However, Darth Fred, your forum access permissions have been fixed. Real response tomorrow at some point.
  22. Hey Jason, welcome. We have some truly great Acolytes around so be sure to pick their brains if you want to know more. Ultimately it is up to what YOU want to do, The pride and energy you put into your costume will show. And with what we end up spending, you definitely need to pick something you'll be happy with for a long time. Check the respective boards for those costumes and I'm sure you'll have a lot you can learn from them. Welcome! Hey Thomas, Rob does great work, bear in mind that we have a lot of information on ways to make the costume more wearable and a few suggested upgrades once you get the kit. He's a good guy with a lot of skill, the catch is that you can most likely expect a fairly hefty wait time due to the demand for his work. Hi Che, and welcome, be sure to check out our Revan boards for more information on the costume. The Lounge seems as good a place as any, welcome anyway! http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/forum/81-lounge/
  23. Thanks for posting! Unless he changed it, Rob doesn't do the shirt, he just does the outer layer cloth pieces, not the under gear. So this is quite useful for many people.
  24. Welcome Justin, looks like your membership has already been updated. Let us know if there's anything you need. Welcome Jamie, check out the threads and ask any questions you may have, we'd be happy to help you get finished.
  25. +1 for that. Look at the whole costume as 1 piece and deconstruct it from there, player models don't count.
