I'm not sure I like what is going with the chest piece can you take a close up picture of your chest piece? I see the link on there and I am not sure what's going on there.

I would change out the rings with clips, you can find the clips in one of my posts in my WIP thread. Also try to replace the 12 rings at the bottom.

Also, if I'm not mistaken is there a zipper on your shirt in the front that goes up the collar? The picture is a little fuzzy so it is hard to tell. And do you have the bead line going across the shirt? Like I said the pictures are fuzzy and hard to see what everything looks like. If you can get higher definition pictures it will be easier to check out your costume for any deficiencies.

Thanks buddy

Yes the under shirt will be replaced for a proper turtle neck and add a pipping to it .

My GML told me to lower the ring a bit more. which i have done by extending the leather straps.

not sure what you mean by my chest..

I have ordered some clips and will be replacing those

he also said to add material like the one from the hood and add this under the chest plate

to make the hood look more like a cowl.

this is one thing that is very confusing in the 501st each GML ha sits own standars.

so its very hard to please everyone

some revans get approved without any modification at all

I actually think the way your cowl lays open is perfect. So I am not sure what your GML means. Your cowl around the shoulders should lay a little lower and flatter.

I think the clips you ordered should do but it also depends on the size. You don't want the clips to be oversized in length or width.

I have noticed that about a couple of Revans. I have shot off an email to a couple of FE staff. So hopefully the issue will get addressed. My GML is very detailed oriented. So my Garrison has some of the best costumes out there.

Thats what i thought to

In the RL we have judges for the whole RL not Garrison based

this way all standars are the same

this is what i need to do from my GML

"The ring that the red sash hangs from needs lowering so that the top is only just sat on the abs armour.

The hood needs an alteration making so that it is more of a cowl, having an connecting piece of fabric at the bottom, runing along the chest just above the armor.

The undershirt also needs a seam running horizontal across the upper chest."

I did asked for images to do this because i could not find this on the CRL

And yes i have a back plate . So for the cowl is that the same material of the hood just wrAp behind the armor or do i need to get more material

I cant really see this extra material on the 501st CRL

Same as the ring that low

Is there an image where this ring is that low? And if there is why is it not on the CRL ?

I do see that im missing the pipping on the under shirt From the CRL

Are we not using the CRL for costume approval?

GML repply

CRLs are just guidelines mate for explaining aras of the costume. Just because something is missing from it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be on the costume. I look at images of a persons outfit and compare it to reference images of the character, its easier that way.

The material at the bottom of the cowl, I'd just get a piece of similar material to what the rest is made from and attach it to the inside to mimic the look.

As for the piping, that is what I refered to as the seam running along the upper chest.

I always use this reference for Revan

I dont want to sound conflictive but its abeautiful armor made by MWA and it was not cheap and if im ahcking and adding stuff i want it to be the right stuff thats why i asked

Alan I think you can complete the cross section by pinning the excess tucked fabric in the middle of your chest. While I agree that you could probably lower the fabric on your shoulders a smidge, and perhaps lower your ring a bit, let me say this: This is one of the best 'first wear' posts I have seen.

The rings are a highly-recommended first change, but not contingent on approval.

To get approved I would:

-Fix the shirt issue (ribbing and zipper deal)

-Get the shoulder-cape to sit just a little lower.

-Get some of your spare shoulder fabric meeting in the center of your chest. I am actually curious if you trimmed the fabric, I notice you actually attached the fabric to the rings. (Mine isn't, it's tucked and folded and right up against it.)

-Lower the ring

The ONLY 'hacking' you should need to do is for putting new hooks in, I'll take a gob of pictures when I do SL-82082's for his, and show everyone how I did it. And the thing is, that's not needed for approval. Fix the above and you should get LMO approval in no time.

1. Congrats on being accepted.

2. I haven't seen your costume submitted to the Legion GML thread yet. Revan has to be approved by the LMO to get your SL and get your costume added to your 501st profile.

3. You might raise the black sash up just a tad higher to right under your bottom.

Even not 501st fully accepted yet, that is really really awesome. Due to a hiccup I had to wait 4 months to get my membership squared away and I was trooping with my local guys the whole time.

P.S. The hooks look great.

Not sure what happens behind the scene . my GML needs to contact the legion GML?

I did selected my SL id SL33961 but i am awaiting confrimation that the process has been completed

this is what my GML wrote to me

Yerrp, just see it in the main 501st UKG membership rota pending list.

For some reason your requested numbers were not there so I put in 33961 and 39613 and processed your request as 'Ready For Duty'.

Hopefully you should get a mail through pretty soon from the 501st confirming your processed and APPROVED application

I'll keep an eye out on my side and if I see any problems I'll give them a kick up the backside and gee them up to get it sorted.

Take care mate

Billy

Yep. What you've got there all checks out.

I think you GML was absolutely in the right. He did his own approval like he would for any costume. And now it should be in the hands of the LMO who is just like you said, the GML at the Legion level.

There's a private thread for GML/GWL and LMO-types and Detatchment Leads where applications can be sent for a second set of eyes. Maybe you hold the position but want help approving that Snowtrooper. Then all the Detatchment experts and such can collaborate to help make the best suggestions possible.

In the case of nearly every one if not all of our Detatchment's Costumes, we have to get LMO approval as the final authority. I'm guessing mostly because our costumes are smaller in number, with lots of little details and issues in regards to source material. Just guessing.

Anyway, sounds like you've got, in my opinion, one of the best parts done, and that's approval to troop with your local mates. Now it's a matter of pushing through the final papers to get you full Legion membership and access to all the great stuff that comes along with that.

Edit:

Looks like your photos were submitted less than an hour and your approval was said with one of the shortest responses I've seen. Good job Alan.
