  1. There is talk of a new Detachment popping up that covers the shady characters with no designation, so we'll see.
  2. So, clarification. No, we would not cover the character due to the fact that he is movie-based, and therefore, yes, unaffiliated is where he goes currently. Also, they believe the DZ was just a typo and is being looked at.
  3. You know, that is a damn good question. I actually can't say that I know one way or another is right. Generally, we don't cover movies, so I would normally say unaffiliated. I could ask and let you know what the LMBOs have to say.
  4. You can email me at Nina501st@gmail.com with the login name, email assigned to the account, what you need changed, and what you want it changed to and I can get it edited for you if you are unable to do it
  5. Correct. It is currently listed as pleated, but will no longer be. Any costumes currently approved will not have to change anything, but as with any CRL update, it is recommended.
  6. I'm pretty sure most just use the elastic straps around the middle finger and palm.
  7. This is an open invite for all Legends/EU/Animated Series characters to join us for a group photo at Star Wars Celebration Orlando with all the characters we can get that fall under the aforementioned designations! This means that any 501st, Rebel Legion, and public member wearing a costume that is from Legends/EU/Animated Series is free to join us, so long as you are on time! Since we will be having a TFE panel until 11:30, we will plan this photo for 11:45. Complete info is below! What: Open Invite Legends/EU/Animated Series Group Photo When: Sunday, April 16th, 11:45 am Where: Lower foyer beneath the 501st Room in W206 Please come a few minutes early for organization. We will be heading directly over from the panel.
  8. Maybe seal the surface so it looks a bit smoother, reduce the thickness vertically of the red strip above the eye area, and it should be alright.
  9. Can you get a picture of you wearing it? It is hard to get an idea of proportions from this photo.
  10. Congrats! You can post here to get your membership permissions upgraded. http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1660-501st-andor-detachment-access-requests/page-1
  11. I'm not sure of mobile version of tapatalk version, but desktop version has an attachment upload bar at the bottom, or you can upload it to a hosting site and use the img code button in the chat box on desktop version.
  12. Correct. The armor does not come as a chest and back piece in the game, they are a single item and show together. No official reference of Revan shows only the chest armor. The optional back piece that is listed currently was more due to the cape covering it, but for the new one, that will not be the case.
  13. Greetings! While you will be able to get assistance here, you might find more targeted help over at the IOCs forums for him. http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/
  14. That part I do not know, but hopefully members have a good idea of who does sell them so we can get a list going.
  15. Here's the link in case you didn't find it http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2379-darth-revan-kotor/
  16. Greetings! While we don't deter anyone from making whatever costumes they love, I don't believe that he would be approvable. There have been a few people to submit for it, but the 501st deemed Grievous not doable, ore as a prop than a character due to proportions and missing body areas. It pretty much goes for every droid say for 4-LOM.
  17. I actually didn't even read that part of the existing CRL, but thanks for catching that! The pommel can be grey or black, the emitter is gold or brass. Existing costumes will not be affected by the changes, but it is recommended to update. Your choice, though.
  18. There will be just one level as of now. The rough draft is up in the CRL update section now.
  19. REQUIRED PARTS: Cape, Hood, and Capelet For 501st approval: Heavy black fabric is used for the cape, hood, and capelet. The cape is box-pleated and reaches nearly to the floor.Option: A knife pleat variant is also acceptable. The hood is full and drapes around the face in the front to create a cowl-like appearance. The capelet attaches to the hooks on the black sections of the cuirass. It is attached with silver clasps at four points, two on the left, two on the right, and then drapes around the shoulders. Accurate clasps are strongly recommended. Rings are acceptable if a more accurate alternative is not available. Cape, Hood, and Capelet For 501st approval: Heavy black fabric is used for the cape, hood, and capelet. The cape is box-pleated and reaches nearly to the floor. The hood completely encloses the face, and drapes in a hooded style at the bottom of the front of the hood. The capelet attaches to the hooks on the black sections of the cuirass. It is attached with silver rings of two different sizes that are attached to straps that feed through the black sections and attach on the back of the curiass. Clasps are acceptable, but rings are more accurate for attachment. Mask For 501st approval: The mask extends up to the top of the head. It has a dark gray and rust red color scheme on the front, and the paint is heavily weathered. The eye slit is filled with a lens that is dark enough to obscure the eyes behind it. Black side panels matching the game renders may be included to cover the sides of the costumer's face, but they are not required. Note: It is not clear if the black area visible in the game render was meant to be a piece of the mask, or if it is a rough rendering of Revan's face which was supposed to be hidden by the hood. Because of this uncertainty, the black side panels may be included or left off of the mask at the costumer's discretion. Balaclava For 501st approval: A form-fitting black balaclava is worn to hide the costumer's face and neck. Shirt For 501st approval: The shirt is made of black fabric with long sleeves. A horizontal line of black piping is sewn across the chest, and is visible just above the chest armor. The shirt collar is worn in a high, form-fitting style similar to a Mandarin collar. Shirt For 501st approval: The shirt is made of black fabric with long sleeves. A horizontal line of black piping is sewn across the chest, and is visible just above the chest armor. The shirt collar is worn in a high, form-fitting style similar to a Mandarin collar. The sleeves are bunched from the vambrace to the shoulder. This can be achieved by pushing the wrist cuff of the sleeve up towards the elbow so that it allows bunching of the fabric while still remaining hidden under the vambrace. Vambraces For 501st approval: The vambraces are made of a rigid material which encloses the entire forearm. They extend from the wrist to just below the elbow on each arm. A ridge design runs up the front seam and can be used to disguise the clamshell openings. Another ridge design goes along the bottom edge nearest the wrist, and appears only on the outer half of the vambrace. The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a slightly copper tone. Vambraces For 501st approval: The vambraces are made of a rigid material which encloses the entire forearm. They extend from the wrist to just below the elbow on each arm. The vambraces must be a single, seamless piece, or attach without creating an overlap in the two pieces. There is a vertical raised ridge seam along the length of the interior side of each vambrace, as well as two raised ridges at the wrist that from horizontally from the vertical raised ridge seam to the seam line located on the exterior side of each vambrace, The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a slightly copper tone. Hand Plates For 501st approval: The hand armor is made of a rigid material. It has a series of parallel ridges running horizontally across the center of the armor piece, and a smaller ridge design goes across the bottom edge of the hand armor, near the fingers. The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a slightly copper tone. Gloves For 501st approval: The gloves are made of undecorated black leather or fabric. They are long enough to conceal any skin that might show on the wrists, and are worn tucked under the vambraces. Cuirass (Chest Armor) For 501st approval: The cuirass is made of a rigid material with a pattern of ridges that replicate the designs seen in the reference images. The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a copper tone. The cuirass includes a raised black panel on each side of the chest that is made of a rigid material. These panels each have two loops built into them. Each side of the capelet is attached to these loops with a pair of silver clasps. Accurate clasps are strongly recommended. Rings are acceptable if a more accurate alternative is not available. Each side of the capelet is attached to these loops with a pair of silver rings of two different sizes or silver clasps. The capelet attaches to the hooks on the black sections of the cuirass. It is attached with silver rings of two different sizes that are attached to straps that feed through the black sections and attach on the back of the curiass. Clasps are acceptable, but rings are more accurate for attachment. Armor Bridge For 501st approval: Located between the cuirass and abdominal armor is a middle section that connects the two armor pieces. The bridging piece is made of black leather or vinyl with close horizontal ribbing running the full length. Alternatively, a stiff material that has been painted in shades of silver and black to match the pattern on the reference images may be worn. Abdomen Armor For 501st approval: The abdominal armor is made of a rigid material and includes a pattern of ridges that match the design seen in the reference images. The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a copper tone. At the hips are two arching black shapes. The abdominal armor includes the attachment points for small o-rings hung from the bottom rim. There are six o-rings if the armor is backless, or twelve rings going all of the way around if a back is included on the armor. Abdomen Armor For 501st approval: The abdominal armor is made of a rigid material and includes a pattern of ridges that match the design seen in the reference images. The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a copper tone. At the hips are two arching black shapes. The abdominal armor includes the attachment points for the straps that hold the small o-rings hung from the bottom rim. There are 6 silver rings that hang from the abdomen armor and twelve rings going all of the way around the armor, including the back armor. There is a thin strip of red fabric matching that of the sash that shows just below the bottom of the abdomen plate. There should be an area approximately 3/8" visible, and can attach behind the bottom ridge of the armor. Back Armor For 501st approval: The back armor plate is made of a rigid material that continues the design of the front armor around so that the torso is fully enclosed. The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a copper tone. There are six silver o-rings hanging from the base of the armor. Back Armor For 501st approval: The back armor plate is made of a rigid material that continues the design of the front armor around so that the torso is fully enclosed. The armor has a metallic sheen and variable coloration, ranging from bronze to a copper tone. There is a thin kidney strip, approximately 2" wide, that matches the length of the lower section of the back plate. The kidney strip includes the attachment points for the straps that hold the small o-rings hung from the bottom rim. There are 6 silver rings that hang from the back armor and twelve rings going all of the way around the armor, including the abdomen armor. There is a thin strip of red fabric matching that of the sash that shows just below the bottom of the abdomen plate. There should be an area approximately 3/8" visible, and can attach behind the bottom ridge of the armor. There is another armor bridge located between the back plate and the kidney strip matching that of the front armor bridge, but between 1.75 and 2x as wide to esure that the front armor and back armor sections align correctly at the sides. Belt with O-Ring For 501st approval: Revan's belt is suspended in front of the abdominal portion of the armor. Both sides of the belt slope downward at an angle to a large O-ring at the front. The belt attaches to the armor on each side, rather than going entirely around the waist. The belt has silver/gray colored bands, and has 4 smaller o-rings. Two rings are visible in the front. The other two are further back and are only visible in profile when the cape is swept back. The O-Ring's top rests toward the bottom half of the abdominal armor piece. Fabric Drapes For 501st approval: The black sash is one long piece of black fabric which attaches to the O-ring at both ends. This gathered piece of black fabric is not attached in the back. It hangs loosely against the backs of the thighs, creating a draped effect around the body. A deep grayish red vertical drape is suspended behind the O-ring. The red drape does not hang through the O-ring in any way, and it is not attached to the abdominal armor. The red drape may be sewn to the ends of the black sash, or it may be a continuation of the black drapes. Vertical ribbing or pleats runs down the full length of the red drape. Split Skirt For 501st approval: A wide legged split skirt is worn. The fabric is black, and reaches to the ankles. Large box pleats run vertically down both sides. If a belt strip is used to secure the split skirt, there should be no belt strip visible from under the the abdomen armor. Boots For 501st approval: The boots may be black or dark gray in color. The heels are low, and there are no visible laces. A wide strap may be included that goes over the top of the foot. Boots For 501st approval: The boots may be black or dark gray in color. The heels are low, and there are no visible laces. A wide strap should included that goes over the top of the foot. The toe should be squared. OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES: Lightsabers For 501st approval: If the costumer is portraying Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic, a single lightsaber is used. If the lightsaber includes a blade, the blade is red. If the costumer is portraying Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, then two lightsabers are carried. If the lightsabers are bladed, one blade is red, and the other is purple. The hilt midsection is silver, with the emitter head and back pommel sections showing gold or brass in color. Lightsabers For 501st approval: If the costumer is portraying Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic, a single lightsaber is used. If the lightsaber includes a blade, the blade is red. The hilt should resemble one of the hilt styles used in KOTOR. If the costumer is portraying Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, then two lightsabers are carried. The hilt midsection is silver, with the flared emitter head showing gold or brass in color, and pommel color showing black or dark grey. The hilt used by the Shadow of Revan in the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO game is NOT an acceptable hilt to use.
  20. There are a few "rubbery" armors out there for sale, but they are not approvable for 501st. The armor specifically needs to be rigid and smooth metallic. Some have accomplished this with leather, which is fine so long as it is sealed ad smoothed with the metallic effect. The majority use either formed plastic or casted resin for this effect. So long as the details are covered, either method is fine, but it should not bend or move at all. Full rigidity. The cape, hood, and capelet are kind of a diy thing with patterns, but just to let you know ahead of time, there are NO pleats on the capelet. Contrary to what people think, the pleated parts are the cape and the skirt, which should be listed as a box pleat and not a knife pleat. eThe CRL is being updated in teh next few weeks for all of this, so it is better to take care of this ahead of time.
  21. The masks are entirely different and won't be able to be switched around. You'll need a flat mask for KOTOR II and the skull-style for COTF.
  22. From what I can tell in the photos, the red is definitely on track.
