  1. Game art is going to be the key ingredient. The side shots looking at the rear of her outfit are good, but if you can manage to get her cape lifted and see what is behind the cape, that would be a major plus. I haven't played recently at all, so I don't know if that's even possible, perhaps you may even get a bug where her cape flies up magically. if you can snap a screenshot and include that, you would have a major boon there in creating the back side of that outfit. The undergarments are totally not required, if you wanna go that far, more power to you, but we're mostly interested in the outer appearance as a whole.
  2. Awesome and welcome! Feel free to post a thread with your work in the forums! Let us know if we may be of any assistance. Can't wait to see what you've got to share! Sweetness! Post lots of pictures please! We have a lot of great resources to help you make your costume the best it can be, feel free to read up and then ask any questions you may have. We can help every step of the way, read up and post plenty, if something comes up we can assist. Nice meeting you too! Be sure to post lots of pictures here too! If there's something someone can learn from your work, that benefits all. The Webmaster and I attended the Cantina tour at Celebration 7 and were on a recruiting spree, what you say is very true! Start a research thread here: http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/forum/95-eu-character-research-discussions/ We may move the thread later but for now that's a good place to start. Firstly, let's get as many pictures as possible, from all angles to truly see the costume. Please send me a PM when you've posted, just in case I miss it. Glad to hear you are already aware of how awesome we are and you can be too by joining! If there's any help we can provide, please let us know and we'll be happy to work with you! P.S. remind your husband we're the ones with cookies. Hi!! ya'll I'm Diana from the Outpost Perú. I have a Darth Talon's costume and a Visas Marr's costume. Right now I'm in a half way to ending Darth Maladi's costume. And I'm making a Mara Jade's costume for a friend who wants to be part of our Outpost. Making costumes is so addictive!!. Proud to be part of the Flagship Eclipse's family. Hey there' Diana, if you have any wisdom to help our other members, feel free to share, sounds like you're already quite on the right track.
  3. Done! Done! Done! Done! Done! Sorry for any delays, if there are any other issues, please let me know, have a great day!
  4. A little later than planned but here's my initial assessment: I'd like the 'greeblies' on the straps for the BOR a little darker. If you look at the image you're using, they're a shade darker than the BOR itself. They seem just a smidge too bright. Shiny is fine. I agree on lowering the BOR just a smidge. The big motivator there is that it will also lower your red sash to be more in line with the bottom edge of the hakama. I'd be interested to see about darkening your red sash a shade or two, not a lot, but just a little. Lastly, I noticed on your back shot that your cape is a lacking strong vertical pleats, most of ours are sewn in, if you can press it and it stays well, go for it, but the lower it got, the less defined it looked. To be entirely honest, once your mask passes muster, these items are all I think would be needed to change for an approval. Everything else would be a strongly encouraged recommendation to help make it more accurate. I've seen plenty of kits and for a homemade rendition, I don't feel uneasy saying this is very very close to approval, you have done a very great job.
  5. Your local GML can actually approve the costume since the CRL is considered Green status in completion. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Darth_Malgus However, for the sake of others, and your GML, you are more than welcome to start a WIP thread and share your costuming process and pictures with the community. In fact we'd love it. Your GML may not be terribly familiar with the costume though and (s)he can submit the photos you send to him to the LMO, other GMLs and Detachment Leadership found in this private thread here: http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=61966 Only he will be able to actually see that thread, but we check it frequently and I get notified the moment there is a post in it. If you or (s)he have any further questions on the process, by all means, feel free to e-mail me or send a PM.
  6. I really want to comment on this but am super tired, will review Thursday after work, or tomorrow if I'm feeling chipper in the morning. Nice work, comments later. *Falls over*
  7. Hi Dorothy, we look forward to seeing your WIP thread. Good to see you here Christopher, post away, we'll be happy to see what you've got! I am not sure what your trouble was before, but I think you'll find everything is in order. If you continue to have troubles, please don't hesitate to ask.
  8. Welcome Alvin. Be sure to check out the threads in the Revan section and create a WIP thread of your own. We'll be glad to help all along the way.
  9. While not from Kotor, here is something to consider in the mask/helmet debate: I cannot find a similar shot from the actual KOTOR movie despite a decent amount of searching, normally I have one by now but thanks to Kylo Ren, the search is now polluted with images that aren't Revan.
  10. Probably best to just remove all references to the 501 from it, you could instead say "screen accurate" to the video game, ect. You're welcome to also give credit to Robert Rodgers and his Wicked Armor site as inspiration. Just make sure you're not 'recasting' in digital.
  11. My first suggestion is that if you plan on wearing this in the long run, pins will hold you back. They're good to get set up with, but check out a thread like this one for assembly help: http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/979-darth-brutes-revan-build-thread-finished/ There are other ways as well, but this should get you in the ballpark. Please post pictures of where you're at in your assembly and we'll be able to investigate your trouble some more.
  12. You do, unless you have an Admin stumble across a post or two. Congrats! Be sure to also request Detachment access at: http://www.501st.com/memberDB/
  13. As provided from the creator, there is no clearance to be spoken of. Most costumers add foam in several areas to help with this. Refer to the images here as an example: http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/979-darth-brutes-revan-build-thread-finished/
  14. For the time, there are a lot of elements about this post that raise questions that I don't believe have been asked yet or need to be asked again. I am going to have to hold off on commenting until I get more information.
  15. Welcome Brother! No coins are available on the market, but we'll get you lined up for the members access and you'll be able to keep track of merch runs as they happen. We're just about to start up the merch machine so keep your eyes peeled! Glad to have you Jori! Check out those Revan threads, read everything you can, and be sure to ask questions if something comes up. Also feel welcome to post a WIP thread as you work on your costume, that's a great way to get feedback and suggestions. Learn from others' mistakes to be sure! Welcome Felix, you are certainly in the right place. Check out those Nihilus forums and feel free to ask questions! Hey there Ahmed, Bast Alpha is one of my favorite Garrisons, lots of good people there! As one of the leading guys on Revan I'll be happy to discuss that stuff in the threads with you. You're not the first to mention leather, and we can talk about that there, I'll give you a hint: we won't disagree.
  16. Welcome Alex, you're in the right place. Check out those threads, and we look forward to seeing what you post as well.
  17. Welcome back Shaun, sorry for the trouble, we're recovering as best we can.
  18. All of our decisions are based on images, we're a visual group after all. If it were me, I'd submit photos in costume for approval without and go from there. Be sure to check up with the other Maras in the threads though for more info. Thanks for joining us, we look forward to seeing your work and helping in any way that we can.
  19. A costume must have full detail from all sides in clear images to be considered. And it must be cited from some sort of source. The more consistent the details of the image are, the stronger the case.
  20. Hey there and welcome! Don't forget to grab a cookie and keep on stompin'! Welcome to the boards. I see your posts so far, sorry for the trouble. If there are any other issues don't hesitate to ask Laura, we'll be happy to investigate. Enjoy your stay!
  21. I moved the conversation here so that others might chime in with comments or ask questions of their own. Have a question? Ask away!
  22. Welcome back Brother, I hope you're going to the KTB meetup at TK on the 9th! Welcome back, status updated!
  23. Welcome neighbor! You're in my third favorite Garrison, behind Central and the 70th of course! I suspect costumes are like painting miniatures. if you ever paint your last mini, or finish your last costume, you die. That is a bummer. Due to a delay in getting ahold of my AFK GML, I got a 5 digit instead of a 4 digit. But at least I had a good selection to choose from. We have some really great Revans here and several of us have really put some thought and effort into making them as best we can. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any troubles, we've dealt with many issues. Welcome to the boards! Hi Marc! With over 40 costumes on our CRL list and even more potential first in the Legion ones, we're happy to provide you with the largest selection available! Love your TKID by the way, great patterning. If you need any help or have any questions, that's what we're here for!
