Before I finish my robe, I wanted to confirm with everyone-- the hood appears to be a lot smaller than the typical Palpatine hood. Does everyone concur? (See reference image.)

VERY NICE!!!

WTG!!

I really wish I could put soem "claws" in a kit, but resin claws woould no ladt up. There is really no easy way to do them except to just build them yourself. And ABS is the best sure fire way to do them. ..GREAT JOB!! :D

Thanks Christopher! I really appreciate the compliment, especially coming from someone with your talent.

I know some of you guys are using a coarser fabric for the robe... hopefully my waffle weave is ok.

Where did you get that cape made at?

Kenneth

My mom made the cloak. LOL- I wouldn't even try. She started with the pattern at this site: http://www.thejediassembly.com/tutorials.php?id=sh5

We made several changes- much smaller hood, shorter sleeves, and took some off the front panels to allow for a more open cloak so you can see the armor.

One suggestion if you or someone else makes your robe: we bought cheap material and she made a practice version. She sewed really big, loose stitches so that it was easy to take the pieces apart, trim the material to improve things, and then re-sew it all back together. We probably did this at least three times.

Still waiting to see if more True Grip Extreme gloves are made in XL. I found these... any critiques? I am hoping to get the gloves soon since TK7100's finger armor should be arriving in the mail any day now.

I've been looking into boots, from what I can get from the videos they look like a hi-tech style boot, with low profile soles and a square/rectangle tread pattern.

I'm not particularly worried about the tread pattern but the side profile of the sole should be as close as it can be to the reference we have.

I looked at combat/hiking boots but all the soles and tread were to thick and chunky, I think something more like motorbike boots will match better, similar to those used by Maul.

Searching ebay for motorbike boots, I found these which I think might do the trick, I also like the flap on the front which would be good for attaching the boot armour.

You can't see the tread pattern but the profile looks pretty good for a match, what do you guys think, anyone got some good referance you can share.

And here's the overall shape..

And the best I have to the actual tread...

Yeah those shots are about the same I came up with, the tread's not to deep and the sole is fairly flat with a slight heal.

Those boots look pretty good to, I think as long as you use a modern hi-tec style combat/hiking boot you'll be pretty close, considering the armour will be on as well, not much will be visable.

Oh and the boots were listed on ebay as Oliver Smelter Boots Black Motorbike Steel Toe and cost me about $80 shiped.

FYI- home depot has re-stocked Firm Grip Extreme gloves in XL. :) I ordered mine tonight!

Nice, I need to find someone that stoks them and sends OS, the Firm Grip site still only has L.
