thecustomsabershop.com may be swamped as far as producing full custom sabers, but the individual parts ship out within a couple days. Assembly is seriously not hard. If you can put a cap on a bottle of pop you can assemble the main sections. The electronics installs are pretty brainless too. If anyone is interested in the game style sabers like I posted above, and REALLY don't want to build them yourself, let me know. I could assemble them...

I don't know if you all saw my post in the Nihilus forum, but through thecustomsabershop.com you can make a generic KOTOR saber that comes pretty close to the screenshots for Revan's sabers.

mhsnihilus2.jpg

The shop offers the emmitter, main hilt section, handwheel and pommel pictured as well as all electronics needed to make it full-on Lux. The only thing you would have to build or buy separately would be the clamp section where the switch is located (basically any sleeve with a lip to fit over the hilt).

Cost would be about $95 for the saber, $20-40 for electronics depending on type of LED, and $10 to $30 for a blade with mirror tip and diffuser. Assembly requires screwing the parts together and very minor wiring. The site provides wiring tutorials.

Can you list the part numbers? To make it easier for people to order. I will put is in a sticky, so other people can see it.

The only thing left would be the clamp section that fits over the hilt where the switch is. Search e-bay for graflex clamps, or e-mail Corbin@thecustomsabershop.com to see if they could manufacture one for you. (Depends on what Tim's[guy who makes it all] workload is...

I checked with someone at their site. The MR's are a good bit bigger around than the MHS pieces. The luke pommel could slide over a bit of the hilt section and the narrower piece that secures the speaker could be sandwiched in between the hilt and pommel. Might just require enlarging the sound hole to make it fit snug.

Thank you very much for your continued efforts in this project.

As far as I am concerned, there is no excuse to not troop with a true Revan saber anymore. :D

I found this guy selling this lightsaber... Dang it sure looks close... I'm watching it... Here is a copy of the pic... If you want to look at it, just do a search under custom lightsabers...

That is reasonably close, with some rework and detailing. Good find! Me, I'll be taking my wildly inaccurate custom saber to CIV and worrying about an accurate one after the con.

Too. Many. Details. To. Assemble. Before. Con.

*head explodes*

LOL!

This is a "stock" image of a saber I purchsed from an eBay vender a month or so ago. He calls it the "Revan" saber and he also sells a "Malak" saber. However, those names are not totally accurate.

The "Revan" saber is a reasonably close match to the standard saber shown in the KOTOR graphics. This means it's not "Revan's" saber, per se. It's Revan's, and also anyone else who uses a "standard" or long-bladed saber in the game.

The "Malak" saber is not really Malak's, although that's what he calls it. The Malak saber is a reasonably close match to the "short-bladed" sabers in the game...those are the ones with the large, sort of crown-shaped emitter head.

I think the "Revan" or "standard" saber is a good match, although the pommel will need modification to make it more accurate. I plan to do that eventually. It also will need some repainting, as it's painted with "copper" accents that appear more "brass" in the actual game, so I will be doing some repainting as well in the future.

It's bored out to accomodate (in theory) a Luxeon blade and electronics. The creator of the sabers said he might one day be selling kits for that, but this has not happened yet. Come to think of it, I'll send him a message, inquiring. IF this is true, I'd say these are a good resource for Revans, Nihiluses (Nihili) and Malaks, etc. Not to mention Visas, et al. They are, with slight changes by the end-user, fairly accurate reproductions and at a reasonable cost.

You should be able to get the kits from other sources, i.e. customsabershop.com.

True, I just need to figure out what questions I need to ask. I suppose mostly it comes down to diameter of saber's opening vis-a-vis diameter of stuff one stuffs down inside saber to make blade light up all purty.

Well, one good thing about it is that the pommel design is more accurate than it is in the one I posted and purchased. I have to modify the pommel on mine. :)

best thing is to get a photobucket album.

photobucket.com theyre free and you can load your pics to that then it gives you all the html codes you need to put them here and anywhere else you want.

This is basically the Darth Revan saber without the brass coloring at the emiiter. I am having this made for me by saber forge with the brass coloring added. I will update once I receive the product
