Acolyte Approvals- Halt

Guest muppet

Recommended Posts

At this point in time, there wont be any new Acoltyes approved until there is a concensus on the standard for this costume.

I hope that the discussion between the members on here can pool their research together and put together a CRL.

Lets get this done.

I thought I'd get the ball rolling on a CRL for the Acolyte. Feel free to post suggestions here. I'm simply trying to standardize the costume requirements so that more members can be approved with this have a baseline to aim toward. I'm looking forward to feedback.

In my opinion we need to define the "Sith Acolyte".

We have (what I know) two different styles.

The regular Sith Warrior (the Acolyte) and Lord Adraas.

The big difference obviously is the mask.

So, what else is different?

What is absolutly essential and what is optional?

My suggestion:

The armor parts what are invisible, even we all have those parts, should be "optional".

The same with every other part what can not be seen very well or at all.

The lightsaber should not be a "Hero" saber and needs to be custom made. Even there is one lightsaber what is the official one, we don't know for sure, if every Aco got that one.

The red area in the cloak-sleeve can be color or fabric. More important should be the size of the stripes and the color.

My 5 cent for now!

Anybody else?

I'd like you guys to leave "Lord Adraas" for now and just hash out the generic "Sith Acolyte", once that's done then Adraas can get done. Pam will need the text to follow the basic format of the other CRL's so please keep that in mind when your drafting this.

Can we get a copy of the documentation used for the approved costumes? That would be a nice start, then we could build from that.

Hi,

Check out the finished CRL pages to see the format. Here's one for an example (aka one I happened to have a link to):

http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming ... vytraining

Start at the head, and go down to the feet.

For each costume piece: name it, and then use a bulleted list to describe each feature of that piece.

We're supposed to use "is" and "are" rather than "should be" when describing the pieces, so nobody can say "Well, it only says it should be that, so it doesn't have to be." For example, "The armor is painted hot pink." Not, "The armor should be painted hot pink."

Since weapons are not required, the lightsaber would go in the accessories at the bottom.

Hope that helps!

Pam :-)

Agreed on the lightsaber as optional.

Mask would be pretty straight forward if we concentrate on the regular Sith Acolyte warrior.(grey no red trimmings)

next after the mask/ headgear would be...

Neck seal or neck armor? The way I look at it, it is more of a neck armor, similar to the Vaders... what do you guys think?

"Mask

I don't think lenses should be used in this mask. By the screenshots they are clearly masked out with fabric, hence no glare from the saber.

Not bad!

Here are a few of my suggestions mixed into yours:

Sith Acolye CRL (Suggested Draft)

Mask

• Must be made of a rigid material such as plastic of fiberglass

• Must contain either a grooved or paisley pattern consistent with the video game references, but may not contain the mixture of the two. I would not mix the two masks, since there might be a Lord Adraas one day!

• The mask may connect to a back plate that cups that back of the head. Not necessary, can't see that in the trailer. Maybe optional for those who prefer a helmet a not a mask!

• The wearer’s eyes must be concealed by the wearer by either dark lenses or a mesh material. What mexisol said!

Balaclava

• A black balaclava is used to conceal any skin or features. Optional, because with the neckarmor/neckseal there is no more skin what can be seen, in my opinion.

Robe

• Must be constructed from a black, heavy, flowing material such as wool or an equivalent fabric. No flaps, pockets, zippers or ornamentation.

• The sleeves terminate just below the elbow so that most of the forearm is visible. On each sleeve there should be two burgundy-red stripes that are preferably painted or dyed, but may be sewn-onto the robe fabric. The stripe closest to the edge of the sleeve should be approximately three inches wide with a second stripe approximately 2 inches higher with a width of approximately one inch.

Keep this thread going, and please keep it public without PM.

Another group to speak with regarding the Sith Acolyte would be the Anchorhead Outpost, they are extremely talented and have all the computer generated images that clarify and section out each piece of armor and soft parts. They have been separating and building the costume piece by piece and I believe if anyone is going to be able to create the exact identical reference to the Sith Acolyte.

if they could please bring what they've got so far here so we can all see what they've got, that would be fantastic ^_^

I think you covered it Toddo, just need the images separated and put in the CRL format. Besides that what do the moderators/admins think of this process so far? Any feedback from the hierarchy of Flagship and the 501st?
