  5. COOL! Looks like it's coming along NICELY!
  6. LOOKS GREAT! LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING IT COMPLETE!
  7. VERY NICE! Keep up the GOOD work! LOVE the silicone mask by the way!
  8. Looks MUCH BETTER! Still wish your cut lines on the arrowhead where a bit straighter, but that's just the PERFECTIONIST in me talking! It's a VAST IMPROVEMENT over your previous efforts, in my opinion! WELL DONE By the way, I sent you another PM!
  9. I just ordered a copy of this on Amazon too! Should be here in a few days. CAN'T WAIT! I can't believe I never noticed this was available before. THANKS FOR BRING ATTENTION TO THIS BOOK DAWN! This will make a nice addition to my collection of SW reference material!
  10. Dawn, I just sent you another PM! Check your in-box PLEASE!
  11. Nope! the whole circle is one solid piece! Being a Vader, you can take my word on that! Glad to hear you're going to be getting some Sintra to try a redo on the buckle! I think you'll be MUCH HAPPIER with the results! LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING PICS!
  12. To be honest, the color doesn't look too bad right now. However, I'm still having problems with this! Several things stand out to me. First, the buckle seems TOO THICK! What did you use to make it, if you don't mind my asking? You might want to look at using 1/8" Sintra. It's pretty easy to work with. With a little bit of effort, I think you could make a buckle that looks spot on to the one in the reference pics. The second problem I have is with your cut lines in the arrow pattern. If you look at the reference pics, the longest line is pretty close to the edge of the buckle. Look how far in your's is. Also, I'm not sure if your lines are actually long enough. To me, they don't seem like they're quite as long as in the reference pics. I think another thing that's been bothering me with your arrowhead lines is that they look like they're not crisp & perfectly straight. In my humble opinion, you should probably start from scratch, & remake the buckle, PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO ALL THE LITTLE DETAILS! PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY CRITICISM PERSONALLY! I'm just trying to help you make your costume BETTER! I know some of these details may seem trivial, but to me, THEY'RE IMPORTANT! HOPE THIS HELPS! GOOD LUCK! I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT YOU COME UP WITH! P.S.-Just sent you another PM!
  13. Did you see the new images I took on page 4? I was complaining because my husband is NOTORIOUS for not putting costumes on me correctly! Here are the updated images I took yesterday Do you think this is still to low? It can go up higher Lemmie know what you guys think! (or if this even was the area you are in fact addressing) I hate this that my husband just doesnt care how the costume sits on me. its a pain in the rear end to have to put this thing on because he could care less about how it looks! =) I will take ANY kind of crits! I ant it to be right! Dont worry I didnt go into this thinking it was going to be easy. =) Sorry, I hadn't noticed the updated pics! That actually looks pretty good to me! If it needs to go up at all, it's not much! LOOKING GOOD! KEEP IT UP! P.S.-Did you get my PM?
  14. I'd have to agree with you on these points! Good eye on the shoulder shawl! I hadn't noticed it before, but I'd agree that it should probably be raised between 1"-2". Hope this helps Dawn! GOOD LUCK TO YOU! P.S.- Did you receive my last PM? I'm sending you a new one, just in case you missed it!
  15. Hi Dawn. The buckle looks better, but I'm still not entirely happy with the look. It just doesn't have the look of metal that it should. With the right paint job, I think plastic can be made to look like metal, but sometimes it's just easier to make it out of metal! Just my opinion of course, but that's my 2 cents on that! You might want to order one of the Vader buckles. Like you said, they're not all that expensive, & they look really nice! I'm sure you'll figure out a good solution, as YOU ALWAYS DO! GOOD LUCK, & KEEP THE UPDATES COMING!
  16. WOW!!! Overall, it looks INCREDIBLE!!! The armor looks GREAT! If I have any criticism, other than the few things you've already mentioned to change, it's the belt buckle. It's definitely a step up from what you did with your first attempt, but in my opinion the circular area needs to be raised above the rest of the buckle, to match Vader's buckle. It's a small but important detail for this piece. Other than that, this looks FANTASTIC!!! GREAT JOB!!! GOOD LUCK with your submission!
  17. Glad to hear you've done a few more coats of the 65D. BEFORE YOU PUT ANY PAINT ON YOUR ARMOR, PLEASE TEST IT ON A SCRAP PIECE THAT'S BEEN COATED FIRST! You definitely DON'T want to test it on your armor, only to find out the HARD WAY that the paint you've chosen ISN'T COMPATIBLE! I would suggest that you use a grey primer on your armor before you coat it with the gloss black. The lighter color of the primer will help you to better see where sanding may still be required. I know you say that you've sanded everything even, but you'd be SURPRISED what you may see once you put the grey primer on. It'll REALLY bring out ANY surface IMPERFECTIONS that YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SEE! You may find that you need to add some Bondo to some areas & re-sand things to get everything just right. I'd suggest taking your time, as this ISN'T something you want to RUSH! Believe me, YOU'LL BE REWARDED IN THE END! GOOD LUCK! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR NEXT UPDATE!
  18. VERY COOL! If I might add a comment, based on observing your pics, it looks like you may want to add another coat or 2 of the 65D before priming, as it looks like your coating of the parts is a bit uneven. I believe the 65D dries white, so based on that, you can kind of see from your pics that the coating isn't totally even across the whole surface of the armor. As I have yet to try this on my armor, I'm sure this is EASIER SAID THAN DONE, ESPECIALLY WITH AS FAST AS YOU SAY THIS STUFF DRIES! As far as what paint to use, I've had no experience personally, but it would seem like a good primer that's good for use on plastic should be fine. You might want to try testing some on a piece of scrap foam that's been coated with the 65D first though, before using it on your actual armor pieces! The primer should also let you know if you need to do more sanding or filling on your parts before applying the finished color paint on the parts. GOOD LUCK! I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR CONTINUED PROGRESS ON THIS! EXCITING STUFF!!!
  19. AWESOME! GLAD to see the 65D FINALLY ARRIVED!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW IT WORKS FOR YOU! PLEASE POST UPDATES AS SOON AS YOU CAN! YOU'RE KEEPING ME IN SUSPENSE! LOL!!! GOOD LUCK! Just sent you a PM!
