At any rate, Jedi Knight Revan would be a submission to the Rebel Legion, not 501st, and RL allows submission of costumes without an approved standards document so long as sufficient reference material can show all angles. I just thought someone might have an idea. (Closest I’ve seen is someone’s suggestion that the game reuses Kit Fisto’s saber hilt but the low polygon count makes it hard to say.)

I thought the Nihilist from Saberforge was the more or less "Official" version of Nihilus. Since the game is so low rez I didn't know if a saber with the flared circular emitters would pass overall since there really is no detail to speak of. Do judges specifically look for the Saberforge Reborn/Fallen or Ultrasaber Savior/Butcher? On a related subject--is there a preferred saber for light side Revan, as seen in Galaxy of Heroes?

If due to damage or just wear and tear, soft parts come to need replacing, and the original fabric is not available, how close is acceptable in terms of being “the same fabric” as per the CRL? Will it suffice that the fabric reads the same visually? The WA version uses a rough linen that I have no idea about, but we need to do some work on it, particularly the cowl which is coming apart. The cloth I’ve found, a matte black silk noil from Dharma Trading, is very close, but it’s not exact: if I proceeded with the work, at the end of it the new hood and cape might read slightly differently in direct sunlight, and if you got right up close you’d be able to see that the cape/cowl is maybe 20% more threads per inch rather than tunic/skirts, and the material is softer and thinner to the touch. If you directly compared cowl, tunics/skirt, and quilted sleeve, the sleeve material would be a much stronger contrast to the other two fabrics. Would this maintain approval, considering that in the final analysis we’re replicating a painting which doesn’t actually exist in the real world to match against?

Nobody has the Nihilist in hand yet. It’s still in pre production as of this date, though someone from the company on FB was indicating they may be going to production soon.

Per the CRL, Revan’s armor is to be made out of a “rigid material.” I’m not skilled with plastics, but I’m getting better with leather. Considering the detail and curvature, if I started with a base cuirass of 9-10 oz leather, soaked and formed to my torso, and then the detailing pieces were cemented on as well, the result is going to be fairly stiff: layered composites over a curved/formed surface lose flexibility. Not as rigid as thermoplastic, of course. would this be likely to pass? Or should I start saving up to buy from Wicked Armor? I just don’t have the space in my apartment to add another medium on top of my sewing and leatherworking gear.

Approximately how much total fabric yardage should we estimate for the costume? It looks like the outer skirt is approximately 4 yards, but beyond that I haven’t seen how much to allow for the Tunic layers and cloak/cowl. Second, it looks like SaberForge hasn’t put Nihilist into production yet. What is a recommended saber hilt design for the character?
