  1. To keep track for those folks watching this thread, the initial overlook by TFE Costume Advisors and LMOs is quite good! Just a few things to make this 100% complete.

    -a balaclava is needed

-dark makeup to black out around the eyes

    -greyish bodypaint/makeup for hands

-ever so slight weathering/black wash on the armor and fabric to get the mottled effect present on the reference layout

This really did come out fantastic!

    Thanks for the reply!

Yes, in some discussions I read that for Darth Revan the boots are preferable with square-toedbe , but from CRL is optional for level 2 certification.

For Nihilus I imagined that they could be fine being simple boots, but given the not exactly cheap price I hoped and I wish they would fit both!

Yeah the boots should work for basic Revan that you get for Nihilus.

There are plenty of resources all over these forums and using google will also lead you in the right direction.

Being a visual learner is great as that how I learn, but to show you pictures of the finished products is a very minor part in the process of getting there, having the proper equipment is a big part as well as the know how on sewing. Without those last two, pictures will only get you so far.

    Back to my WIP

I was able to score 8.2m of the proper material today (took in my sample piece to match lol) so I should be able to get the rest of the soft parts finished up this week as I am also off work until next Monday! 🤩🥳

My goal this week is to finish the split skirt with hems and a waist, the pleated cape and the hood and caplet.

I am also debating making the shirt myself as it'll be a bit harder to match the black of a bought turtle neck shirt to the material I have used for the handmade stuff.

I've also been able to get my hands on the armor files so we should be able to start 3d printing them here shortly once we are able to get them to slice properly!

    QUESTION!

Which one is my best at approval down the road?

    mask1.webp

    mask2.webp

    The second one.

How do you add the split? Also that sucks you didn’t have enough I truly hope everything works out in your favor:)

The easiest way to do so is just make 2 separate panels. Then, you attach the panels with a waist band that is worn under the armor. My recommendation is to make a long loop band so that you can feed a belt through it and the excess strap can go back into the loop on the other side.

  5. Correct on the waist!

Just remember the skirt is a series of box pleats and inverted pleats, so it isn't purely just a fold in the same direction kind of pleat.

And yeah, Nina is fine 😁

  6. As much as I do not like them using the, "501st" in their sales page, this 3d file set is about as accurate to approvable as you will find that I am aware of.

Also, the hood is just sort of.....a modified enclosed hooded cape. Instead of having a full length cape, the front is connected permanently, and the back and sides are cut short and bunched up.

Awesome! I been thinking later down the line doing a refitting using more velcro vs adhesives. Just wanted to do this first run to get more comfortable with the whole DIY side of things. Great suggestions!

And hello DarthValkyria! Been reading a lot of your revan related posts they have been a huge help!

Any suggestions or tips on attaching the capelet to the 4 small silver rings on the breast plate? I was going to use small lobster claw rings and pin them to the fabric, but i saw the CRL specifically wants black fabric. Seems simple on paper. But with how much you have the manipulate the hood/capelet once its on it seems difficult trying to plan around it. Im 100% its much easier to implement but im a n00b and probably overthinking it.

    Hello!

For the capelet, I use 2 different size smooth keyrings and feed them to 2 small strips seen into the front part of the capelet on each side. So long as you aren't continually stretching the key rings, they stay slim and you can't tell.
