  1. Yeah most of the commentary has been getting forwarded to the build group of Facebook for active responses.

I spoke with your partner about the red fabric and how it looks like the first major difference in texture to the files. The rest looks good, but there is a crap ton of reference shots from the files and screenshots in the FB group to compare to.

  2. This looks fantastic, but I just want to give you head's up that the 501st and Rebel Legion have an agreement to not have cross-approved OG heroes. Things may be different now, but I want you to have all the information just in case it is a factor in the creation of the costume.

  3. As a head's up, no one vendor is 100% approvable. Even if the armor and soft parts are accurate, they must be proportionate to you to be completely approvable.

Below is a list of vendors that are not accurate or approvable, even if they advertise as such.

Please do your research or double check with us before pulling the trigger on a purchase you aren't sure of.

    CosplaySky

For obvious reasons, the armor is not hard and the soft parts are not accurate.

    Walt's Trooper Factory

The back plate is not accurate, and the mask is closer to SWTOR style, which is NOT approvable. There is no kidney armor and the ab plate is not accurate.

    Most ETSY vendors

Be careful as most take artistic license with design OR just base theirs off the SWTOR mask, which again, is not accurate or approvable. The approved costume in the 501st is only the KOTOR game version. Not the fan art, not the statues or busts, my and not the figures version. They are NOT interchangeable.

    3D print files

    Same as ETSY vendors.

  4. If you can get all the details in senior without any attachment points (weld lines, seams, rivers, etc) then there is nothing stopping such.

Also, if you want to do a helmet style, so long as the front matches mask references from the game, that's fine with me.

  5. The details don't look quite clear enough on the film version, so I am not sure about it. Generally, with the live action stuff, the details are held to a much higher caliber give the level of detail, so you would have to ask LMOs if they would accept it.

  6. A head's up for anyone planning on making Mandalore the Ultimate:

As of this week, the Detachment staff, LMOs, and approved members with the costume have agreed to change the existing BH designation of Mandalore the Ultimate to the new designation of MW (Mandalorian). This designation covers Mandalorians who were not historically Bounty Hunters, and fits better to the character's story. This will change nothing except the letters in front of the TKID for the specific costume, and he will be remaining within TFE!

The change will take effect next week.

Forgot about this thread for a while!

since school started I haven’t had much time to work on this costume, but I did get most of the armor finished and was able to do a suit up before summer ended.

I’m not wearing them here, but I’ve made version 1 of the boot rings discussed in the other Grand inquisitor boots thread. As it seems right now, there needs to be some updates made to the CRL. Where does that process begin? Who should I talk to? My costume isn’t finished yet, but I’d like to have an idea of where to turn when it is.

You'll want to post the specified changes with current and proposed changes images to compare here:

  8. Just now seeing this post (apologies for delay).

Currently, CosplaySky is the only one that is 100% NOT approvable in any of their stuff. I would definitely not recommend getting it if you are going for approval.

For the mask, if you are 3D printing it, just make sure it is not the squared chin SWTOR version (needs the, "fangs" of the KOTOR style") or that you print the ginormous one that engulfs half the neck, as well. MyWickedArmor, though a bit pricey, is still one of the best purchasable sets, and one of the more accurate with mask. It is a pretty penny, but also requires the least amount of modifications for approval*.

*Proportions and proper wearing of the costume, withstanding!
