  1. You could try the different sites on line, just be careful of those selling junk that won't be accepted by the 501st. You could also ask some of the people on here that have that costume, maybe they can tell you where they got theirs from or at least more info to get you started. If you think that just posting a thread saying you want to buy this costume is going to lead to you getting the costume, majority of the time, not. You have to be pro active, Search online, ask people questions, search out and find the answers you want. Research can be brain numbing, we have all been there. When I made my starkiller, I got zero help from my Garrison or on here really. But you know what, if you really want to have this costume, you will find a way. If you don't invest the time, energy, and money it takes, you wont get very far. I like to think of our Costumes as the exotic animals of Star Wars. Some costumes in this Detachment can run as high as $8,000, if you can even find someone to buy the pieces off of. If people are looking for a new costume, but don't have the money, time , and energy to invest, I would suggest going over to the KC clan and making a Jawa. There is a woman over there "Pixeldust" who does great work and you can get a Jawa costume done for around $350, for the basic approvable Jawa, all you need then is 1 Bandolier and some rubber boots and some glue.
  2. Could just make no Detachment Support, its own Detachment and call it "Evil Bastards Detachment", for those who are truly evil and cant find a home to hang their hats.
  3. If you click on your user name in the upper right hand corner of the forums, select "My Settings", you can change everything quite easily. "Jen'jidai" is your Forums rank, it corresponds to the number of posts you have made, and will change as you make more posts. This is not something you can change, and it is the same for everyone, unless you hold an official staff position within the Detachment.
  4. Hello Marc, that is the 1 million dollar question. lol Normally a Cannon Character will be picked up by one of the other Detachments. As that Character really doesn't fit in with any other Detachments criteria, why it is currently sitting in limbo with no Detachment support. I agree it would probably fit in best in this Detachment. I will push your question farther up the chain, and see what I get for an answer. The Link shows "DS" but when you open the CRL it shows "DZ".
  5. Nothing that company makes will meet 501st approval! Pretty much if it starts off with COSPLAY in the name, it is done cheaply, and not accurate enough for the 501st standards. That is more of a Halloween costume, imo.
  6. Might not be able to do it from your phone. Either get on a PC to do it, or send me what you want it all to be in a PM, and I can do it for you
  7. So good so far, minus the missing pieces and the weathering. As the CRL says Hood and Cape should be one piece of material, that is the only thing I would suggest.
  8. Welcome! Yeah its a great costume choice.
  9. Just a reminder, if people would include their TK-ID when filling out their Application/Profile, I would automatically give you the correct access, when approving your application.
  10. ^^ What she said. Other option would be to PM some other Mara Jades, and see where they got theirs from. In the End, its your GML making the decision for approval. Responses may be slow until after Celebration is over and people are back home.
  11. Looking good besides the 1 sleeve hanging higher and the skin seen at the neck.
  12. While many of the Detachment Staff and the Detachment Leader are Deployed to Florida during Celebration , Myself and a few others are here as Rear Detachment, keeping an eye on things. So if you need something during the week of Celebration, rest assured we are still open for business as usual.
  13. Already listed on the CRL as DS
  14. Not according to our records. No one has had this costume built and approved. P.S. Check your Garrison selection in your profile to make sure its correct.
  15. Well those look better that the other color. You said pink, but to my eyes or my monitor settings it looked more orange to me. These red samples look closer to the desired color hue.
  16. There lies the problems, and why I don't think this game is a credible source of reference, as the details are not clear enough to make out, because the quality of details is low, and the image itself is too small. Wrist guards? All I see are his gloves, and his shirt sleeve are bunched up before the gloves.
  17. Nihilus in GoH, is Darth Nihilus (KOTOR II) not Darth Nihilus (COTF) if that is what you are talking about?. What does "a different costume to normal" even mean? Rather small images and not very detailed to use as a source for building a costume. imo
  18. Congratulations and welcome to the club, don't forget to request Detachment Member Status now, so more areas of the forums will be open to you as well as TFE Merch!
  19. Well yes you are correct, if it says same material, it should be the same material. I was just explaining the reasoning behind the same material, and how different materials could then cause a problem later on. Nils, Instead of using 2 different materials, you may want to consider using a different material altogether, that other Nihilus have chosen to use in their builds, so its the same material and you don't run into problems later. I will send you a PM on the GG forums about another GG member who has made this costume and did it all herself, she can probably give you some tips and let you know what materials she used in her Nihilus. Or you could also consider the raw black silk Kracker98 has mentioned above.
  20. Servus It has to look the same is the main point. The weave of the material needs to be the same. The color black needs to match exactly. No one is going to touch the material, so that is not the issue. The problem that may occur over time, by trooping and/or washing, is that one material may fade differently than the other. So it could look correct when it is newly made, but after several troops the two different types of material could start looking like 2 different shades of black.
  21. I love the inquisitor sister outfit, I also know some other people interested in making it. She looks like she has less visibility than my starkiller, and that is hard to do lol. Saber looks cool as well, cant wait to see it full circle. Are you going to make it fold out to a full circle or permanently as full circle? Are you thinking down the road, a way to make it spin? You make those good enough, I am sure someone would be interested in commissioning you to make them one as well.
