  1. I can see how you might make that comparison. The colors perhaps jump out at me a little to make that reference. However, I think that with some tweaks (nothing terribly drastic) this could be turned into a very nice approved Revan.
  2. Yup. Sentinels were the stealthers, and I am certainly guilty of maxing my stealth and demolitions to sneak around, steal all the mines and then later in the game clear a room with an excessive puddle of mines. At least in 2-3 of my 6 or more playthroughs. If I had more time I'd go back and play again. Seriously good call on the yellow, without putting thought into it I somehow thought it would have been Consular green. Also, Male General > Female General because of Handmaiden, Light > Dark because Mira. Just saying.
  3. I would certainly recommend all of the above, then give it another submission before we start tweaking anything else.
  4. Katie you inspired me to do some searching because I couldn't remember, but I thought Consulars were green, her blade is yellow, you're right, I had to dig it up, Visas' training as a Jedi Sentinel earns her a yellow crystal from Meetra. Here I was ready to bet on her having a green crystal. Source: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Visas_Marr
  5. This year I'm unavailable, not enough Leave left before I separate. Will look to go next year.
  6. I am no expert on the costume to be sure, but I have seen the submissions and comments for a few, so here's a couple of things that get brought up during that process. Sturdiness of the armor pieces. Making sure the tattoo designs you use are as accurate as possible (some appear to be more important than others). Smooth blending of the headpiece. Ask around, do some reading, there are some really great costumers here to help you. If you come to a point where you need an extra hand doing some research, just ask and I or others can certainly do some digging. I'll leave your questions for someone better suited to responding. Lastly, kudos to you for being brave enough to put on this costume, nothing but respect!
  7. Congrats on the approval! The LMO pointed out the sash issue you already noticed and also said the hood should be closer to the eyes. Welcome to the Detachment!
  8. Hi and welcome, I am amused by a new person naming themselves FNG, nicely done. You'll find Starkiller resources below for his wardrobe, all 9001 costume options (or however many). Additionally, if you haven't already, check out http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/ for Juno. That's a project my Fiancee and I are starting soon ourselves, good choice. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here, or in the Starkiller thread as needed. Lastly, Welcome!
  9. I did some pondering to try and help you out with your shoulder cape needing to be adjusted. I made a change a while back and I take it for granted some times. Funny enough, Rob actually has it in his instructions slip, but the use of safety pins is really pretty hard when you're trying to suit up quickly, velcro and snaps all the way. In his initial setup, Rob has two strips on each of the rifle-butt spots on the armor. Normally you'd pin the caplet to these but I don't think anyone honestly does, it's ridiculously hard to reach in there with the armor on. Instead, I put velcro patches in there, and used the corner spots of the seams on the hood as a guide of where to put them. It has worked well for about a half dozen troops now and since then I've never had to re-adjust mid troop and I did a con this past weekend. Using your shot, the green represents the strip from Rob, the red is the velcro I added and it's really pretty great. Hope that helps. It should still work with your added elastic. **Note use the sew-on velcro, not the sticky back kind, those are only good for 2-3 troops before becoming useless**
  10. Better answered by the DL/XO but my best guess is that as a different character, with enough noticeable differences in the costume, the one you linked Kris would need to be a separate CRL and thus a separate First in the Legion. Nothing wrong with that, just needs all the same work as the archer. However, for the sake of standardizing things, it would be really great to get a list of suggested fabric types, color codes and such that are close matches to the colors in the show.
  11. That's some downright awesome parenting right there. Great job on both those outfits!

    SWTOR Revan?

This was the biggest one I could find. The 'circuit' parts in the black area seem to be perhaps unique wrapping around and in need of detail. The rest of it seems to be a repeated pattern around the hilt.
  13. As the Starforge had insta-costume generating technology from the Rakata. It might be safe to assume the Rakata Foundry had the same vending machine on the 1313'th' floor.
  14. If you have not already, I also suggest getting to know your local 501st Garrison/Squad. They will be your "friend" in some cases and can help you avoid needing to reinvent the wheel in some places. Start by getting to know them on their message boards if you haven't already. As for stuff here, there's a handful of people with the costume you're describing, and they've been through the process just like you. I can say one of the comments for this particular costume that has stuck out to me, in regards to the armor, is that it should look "mandalorian" and by that they mean that the armor should have a little depth to the appearance and it should look sturdy. Keeping that in mind might help you when you go to making your stuff. I'm sure some templates are out there, if not perhaps some folks have them sitting on a hard drive somewhere. Then the key thing will be sizing your stuff to fit you personally.
  15. Good idea, would love to see the new photos. I didn't understand why a cape wouldn't have ties at the corners but it's okay. Need to do some work such as this after the con I think
  16. Yep. What you've got there all checks out. I think you GML was absolutely in the right. He did his own approval like he would for any costume. And now it should be in the hands of the LMO who is just like you said, the GML at the Legion level. There's a private thread for GML/GWL and LMO-types and Detatchment Leads where applications can be sent for a second set of eyes. Maybe you hold the position but want help approving that Snowtrooper. Then all the Detatchment experts and such can collaborate to help make the best suggestions possible. In the case of nearly every one if not all of our Detatchment's Costumes, we have to get LMO approval as the final authority. I'm guessing mostly because our costumes are smaller in number, with lots of little details and issues in regards to source material. Just guessing. Anyway, sounds like you've got, in my opinion, one of the best parts done, and that's approval to troop with your local mates. Now it's a matter of pushing through the final papers to get you full Legion membership and access to all the great stuff that comes along with that. Edit: Looks like your photos were submitted less than an hour and your approval was said with one of the shortest responses I've seen. Good job Alan.
  17. 1. Congrats on being accepted. 2. I haven't seen your costume submitted to the Legion GML thread yet. Revan has to be approved by the LMO to get your SL and get your costume added to your 501st profile. 3. You might raise the black sash up just a tad higher to right under your bottom. Even not 501st fully accepted yet, that is really really awesome. Due to a hiccup I had to wait 4 months to get my membership squared away and I was trooping with my local guys the whole time. P.S. The hooks look great.
  18. Fantastic. Probably made those photo people's day too I hope. Not every day Troopers and a Sith Lord walk in for photos.
  19. "You're gonna put an eye out." This is probably one of my favorite WIPs right now. The thought hadn't occured to me, but how flexible are those, how are you going to get through doors, and how often are you going to have a handler to help prevent you from poking people? Not a terrible problem but just something to think on.
  20. In order to get my hood to sit low enough, I had to actually put a piece of velcro further back in the hood than the one Rob put in, this allowed me to still put the velcro at the very top of the mask, which allows me to hide it if I have a photo with my mask off (not many but nice to have the option) My default velcro from Rob and having the velcro at the top put the hood really high and you could see way too much forehead. on the mask
  21. I might be mistaken, but I believe the sound tends to come out the bottom, so depending on what you choose, make sure you have slots for that if you are including a sound board.
  22. I think the size proportions are a smidge different. It falls into that gray "as close as possible" thing. And as a non-mandatory item, going to non-canon events and such... Probably would be passable.
  23. I wear a mask, and am actually able to get my glasses behind them. I know that a TK locally uses his military gas-mask inserts behind his bucket. As for face-characters, I think a lot of people get contacts. Particularly for Sith eyes and such. I do not know the requirement though I doubt you are the first this would apply to. I have to wonder if it is addressed the same way a wheelchair might be, as in, judge the costume as it is, despite the equipment. Good question, as a fellow glasses wearer.
