My fiberglass Imperial Knight armor

Hello All, I have been very busy sculpting my Imperial Knight project. Since there were several artists that contributed to the look of the armor, they all had subtle differences, all of this has been covered before, The reason I bring it up is that I had taken artistic liscense when sculpting these pieces, while staying true to the artists concepts.

I started off in cardboard-fiberglass the inside and out then sculpted with bondo.

Everything is done, and I have made silicone molds for everything but the torso which will be done in the next week or so.

I have made my personal set and an extra set so far. all pices are in primer and look just like the masters, who knew!!! Let me know what you think!!!

Wonderful! Nothing pleases me more than seeing people take on the challenge of making their own costumes, especially when sculpting is involved! It's so much more rewarding than letting somebody else do the work for you. You have my compliments for taking on that task, and I'll be looking forward to seeing the costume come together. Be sure to share more photos!

Pam :-)

Thank you for the kind words!!!

I started this project 2 years ago after attending SDCC 09 and discovered Legacy. I started sculpting in foam but due to life getting in the way of fun my project was put on hold. Since I started sculpting this particular set it has taken approx 2 months to complete all the pieces, (too much free time on my hands)

Here are a few more pics!!!

Here are some updates!!!! all armor pieces have been molded in silicone and cast in fiberglass!!

I also tried my hand at sewing my undersuit! Making the quilted lines was easier than I thought but getting them to flow properly is a challange, anyone have any tips?!

I used a simplicity vest pattern and modified it, not too bad considering I dont really know what I was doing, but I had an Idea!

I was able to get a set of this armor (just yesterday in fact!) and I have to say, totally impressed. The sculpt is VERY smooth, VERY clean and well done. To think this was all created from cardboard is unreal.
