I started from scratch . My first costume attempt . CV inspired me. So far I have done the mask and chest armor , and waiting on the hardware to arrive.http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x297 ... You have a wonderful eye for detail, and an ability to make perfect curves that I envy. You're quite talented when it comes to painting, too. Nicely done. I'm looking forward to seeing the vambraces when they're painted and weathered.

While I like the "outline" look of the chest armor, I honestly don't know if that would be approved. The armor that is normally approved has a more sculpted look, while yours relies more on cutouts and dark outlining which isn't present in the reference images. I must say, though... whether that style will be approved or not, it is definitely a work of art. It reminds me of a stained glass window. I love it!

Please continue to share your progress photos. I appreciate the work you've put into this, and I would enjoy a chance to see more.

Pam :-)

Thanks for the input Pam and your nice complements.I wanted to go for more of a stamped look on the armor.I am a cabinet , furniture maker by trade so some of my methods(at least for the armor parts were all tooled and not sculpted) are very out of the norm.I did however sculpt the mask ,mold it and cast it. I think I will paint in some of the grooved areas especially on the chest it seems to stand out a bit much.I think the depth of the cutouts and light reflection will highlight them quite enough. I will post more pics when I add some paint.

I have painted the detail grooves in the chest armor and I think it made a huge difference ,also finished vambrace and hand armor wich I will be painting the grooves in next. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x297 ... Glad to know I'm not the only one who mocks up pieces of an outfit so that I can see how it's looking so far! (It really helps, doesn't it?)

Pam :-)

Yes Pam it really does help out .Putting on armor over your everyday clothing just does not look right. LOL . Unless you are a stormtrooper :).
