Input needed on Imp. Knight

Hey there, first time poster here on Flagship Eclipse. I'm a big fan of Star Wars: Legacy, especially the Imperial Knights. I've worked on Star Wars costumes before, but nothing as challenging as this one. I'm looking forward to it.

Found this on Ebay, looks like a good beginning for the suit that all Knights where under the armor. Thoughts?

The auction itself.

As a reminder, the Imperial Knight undersuit is not the same as Vader's/ a Clone Trooper's.

This sketch was provided by Imperial Knight designer and illustrator Jan Duursema.

For 140.00 US it might be worth getting the suit in the auction and tailoring it. I replaced the torso of a similar suit to accommodate the fit of my armour.

Also the suit in the auction looks quite heavy. Coupled with the artificial fabric, the wearer is sure to get toasty.

Leather costs a lot more, but breaths. I'd say you could start here, and upgrade later.

Be well,

Thomas

Thank you Thomas for the kind suggestions. Your Ganner Krieg is obviously a huge inspiration.

Am I correct in assuming that the upper part of the undersuit has eight faces on the torso portion? Kind of mirroring the eight tabard pieces that hang down over the lower half of the body? In that case you're right, I would have to get this tailored. Are there any pictures of your suit without the armor covering parts up?

Thanks.

Here are a few pictures I found of one that's been done for a girl who wanted to make a Sigel Dare but I'm not sure on the accuracy even if it does look closer than most of what my research turned up. Keep in mind the belt is different for the male and female knights. Thomas, your wisdom here would be beneficial to us all.

Those are great pictures Jaina, thank you for providing them. Did this person ever finish their costume?

It looks like if I were to get this item I would have to do some serious alterations, though it may be worth it just to have the right material for the arms and lower half of the body.

While I'm at it I figure I might as well post some of my progress so far, namely my Imperial Knight lightsaber. Feedback as always is appreciated.

Your lightsaber looks good to me. I'm thrilled to see your finished IK one day. Though, it will be a long journey. But I'm sure your doing well here. ;)

(And see it as your fault that you make me thinking again about making my IK ... its still a thought since my budget and time don't allow this soon. Nontheless, curse you, you dedicated gifted costumers! )
