Starkiller (Galen Marek)

Born as a son to the Jedi Knight Kento Marek, Galen was on Kashyyyk in the birth years of the first Galactic Empire. During an Imperial strike against the Wookiees, Galen was discovered by Darth Vader. Vader killed everyone who witnessed his discovery of the boy, and then took Galen as his secret apprentice. Vader's training of Galen Marek was brutal, and his efforts resulted in a killing machine named Starkiller. Eventually the Emperor encountered Starkiller and forced Vader to kill his apprentice. Vader appeared to do so, but then brought Starkiller's nearly lifeless body to a secret medical facility to be rebuilt. Starkiller was reanimated and given a new task: he was to raise an army of rebels in order to distract the Emperor's spies. Starkiller followed his orders, but in the process his allies showed him that standing for a good cause is more powerful than the Dark Side. Not soon after, he joined a group of rebels which would become the nucleus of the Rebel Alliance. They founded the Alliance, but were interrupted by Vader and a legion of stormtroopers. Vader had betrayed his apprentice once more because the Emperor wanted every dissident gathered so he could wipe out the rebellion with one strike. Starkiller battled both Vader and the Emperor at that point. He died in in the battle, but managed to give the rebels enough time to escape.
