  1. What are shades of fabric & such measured in? Is it Pantone scale or does basic RGB hex (like Photoshop & the program Sakara linked) work?
  2. What he said! LOL Seriously though....outstanding work as always. So gotta ask...you going to make each version of the in-game costumes and in order of the game progression?!?!
  3. If it IS the same guy from Concept Props.....definitely avoid at all costs.
  4. Pam's right about who it is and the costume would need a lot of work to be up to par. The amount of alteration needed to be accepted would make it better to just make/have made from scratch without it being a big time-in-progress difference. As for the mask....I like that mask for the KOTOR version of Nihilus, but the CotF DN mask is slightly different and has a different look. KOTOR: The Ebay one is closer to that....but it'll work. Mine was closer to the KOTOR one before altering. Like so: It was our 1st sewing experience and we loved it. Cheese grater for weathing/distressing rocks...just wear a mask/respirator if using it on silk noil....don't wanna inhale all those fibers.
  5. You can always talk about it on the Rebel Legion boards .....since she's an accepted RL character Can always talk about her in the lounge too
  6. Done. http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/galle ... p?album=58
  7. I've seen it in person and can attest that it's a wonderful interpretation of the KOTOR sabers and an overall spectacular hilt....with pink ribbon & all
  8. FWIW - Atris is already an accepted Rebel Legion character. Here are some interesting tidbits. Found a restoration of the Atris' fall. NOTE - this is NOT how the game was released and cannot be considered an argument IMO....although does make for an interesting watch. This *I THINK* is what the in-game conversation is like, but it is guided by dialogue. I haven't played it in quite some time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keteZ4grOGQ
  9. I agree....do a costume for self, not an organization. As for "fast track" with some of the video game costumes....that's a negative, especially if it's a costume covered by this detachment. Even recently there was a thread about Nihilus' whimple and difficulty for being approved. Understand that there was a limited time where Legion approvals, even for EU characters, were handled by local GMLs instead of passing through LMO scrutiny, and thus lowering the standards temporarily IMO. During that phase there WERE several costumes passed through at the garrison level that had of gone through anyone here would of been rejected due to lack of accuracy and representation. Heck, my Nihilus barely made it (for the reasons in the aforementioned thread), which is why I'm working on v2.0. My 2 next costumes are video game based and another from a comic, but all will be treated with the same scrutiny, and one of them isn't a 501st approved costume.....and honestly, I don't care. I just want it to look as accurate as possible.
  10. There are no photos out there, even from the pros that go to shoot, that do this costume justice. Simply astonishing. I remember watching progress pics of this on TF.N C&P forums when the headdress bones were being made and was blown away. To see it in person (even when we both "dove" for the only open area on the floor LOL) left me in awe and speechless (to make me shut my trap is a feat within itself).
  11. I'd say it probably is a skin, at least for the costume part. If I recall correctly, the only time you actually see Traya and not Kreia is after she's an NPC and in the Trayus Academy. For her to be standing with HK, that'd have to be a player-skinned scene.
  12. Great pics everyone! It was good seeing all of you. Wish I had ran into Pam & Scott earlier....by the time I saw you guys...my costume was completely jacked (even if I did throw it together in one evening). Wished my weekend didn't turn out so screwy (running the kids back & forth to Woodstock, GA ate a lot of my Saturday, came close to not making the mixer). I **LOVED** the Nihilus/Revan battle during the masquerade....so much I plan on finding a video of it and rotoscoping the sabers and adding clashes and maybe even sound. It was VERY well choreographed and believable. We already bought tickets for next year...so hopefully we'll be there and packed w/ costumes (I'll have my proper Vos, KOTOR character, and Nihilus v2.0 w/ new whimple, and RC Sev by then hopefully).
  13. Here's MY take on it....i'm not official in these things...take them at leisure. Based on the latest screenshots....that particular costume shows her with a blue saber, shooting TKs, and working WITH Luke. That being said, it's my opinion that those shin guards are specific to her "good guy" phase and not while in service of the Empire and therefore shouldn't be used for the 501st. This is ultimately up to the LMO & GML of your garrison, but that is how I perceive it.
  14. Picture 1 looks like it has "bands/ridges" going across it where pic 2 looks like a flat front. As for attached vs. detached on the knee guard, i can't tell.
  15. I'd love to....i *DO* have the hairline for it Gotta finish my RC & Bandon 1st tho.
  16. I think they'd work, but be aware that the sleeves will have to tuck in to them.
  17. I think you'd be able to use the Rifter as a core and with some additional hardware (bigger sink pipe cut away properly and something for the black part) could make it workable. It does look pretty thin, but for the application of using it as a "core" could work to your benefit. You may be able to get some ideas on how to get the look from Big Yellow Box. http://bigyellowbox.tripod.com/ I think if you have the patience, you can probably work the Rifter to your advantage. Additionally....if you use sink pipe for the cut-away outer part (part over the black), TCSS sells sink pipe adapters that fit their MHS emitters.

    Airbrushing

We used an airbrush for Gothiclysm's Maladi and used Mehron liquid, cut with LiquiSet and topped with final seal. It lasted pretty well through 3-4 hours of GA heat & humidity with no re-application. When we did her 1st shoot back in March 2008, we used a combination of airbrushes and a gravity feed gun. The gravity feed gun used only cost ~$12 USD and works GREAT for broad coverage and the airbrush for finer details. In the pic from the Mar 08 shoot below, the only thing that wasn't sprayed was directly around the eyes. The "dots (save for on the lip)," arm tattoos, and covering was airbrush/gravity feed combination.
  19. Who's got the game for some screenshots?? @Scott/Pam - i meant the mini even if i replied to the action figure thing
  20. If it was fan-only, why would Wizards have it on their site? They even have her listed in their errata: Bounty Hunters Booster Pack Komari Vosa (Fringe, 39/60) Add the following: Melee Attack
  21. Based on the pics I've seen so far.... #3, the "Short Spiky layered white" looks pretty spot on in my opinion. I don't have hair on my head, so know little about it LOL
  22. In my opinion (i don't count for official stuffs), the references are there....we have video game, art, mini, etc. So from that point, I **think** you're covered. The rest is pretty much make a spot-on, detail-for-detail representation of the character, then Thomas (LMO) will chime in on the readiness to approach council or whatever (i actually dunno the process, just presuming). Expect high level of critique, but out of nothing but us wanting you to present the best. Mr. Peck got critiqued up & down, revisions made, and after all the hard work, adjustments, etc....we have an approved Starkiller...so it's definitely achievable. Know that hair, scarring (Thomas gave good recommendation earlier in thread), and everything else shy of contacts (health implications) need to match as well. I'd be pretty stoked to see this come to fruition too.
  23. How well will this technique work for Lycra type stuff like Under Armor material? I've gotta do a tank top w/ some piping/furniture cord on it.
