I have seen the pictures now from Anaheim and some from Orlando. He still hasn't finished the full costume from what I have seen from the pictures that have been posted. I have also found his posts in the RPF, but the pictures he has posted are no longer valid and the RPF doesn't allow registration to their page from the Tapatalk app. I'm going to sign up via a computer here soon and try and contact him about his WIP and if can share some info about it all. For Darth Nihilus there is no tier two. The gloves have to be plain gauntlet style gloves where the cuff must reach at least mid forearm and have no decorative stitching. You can find these types of gloves online mainly with gothic or medieval wear retailers. The boots you can get at http://www.sovietboots.com/ The belt is something you can make very easily. I believe that if you go with the My Wicked Armor costume you don't have to make any alterations at all and you would only need a standard balaclava, not a full blackout mask. Greeting Everyone, This June my daughter Katherine (Wolf-Fang) graduates high school and will be starting College in October. She is a Verd'ika member (under 18 year old) of the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club as Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels. Just like the character she portrays she is an artist and the college she has been accepted to is the Art Institute of California, Sacramento. As the growing expense of the college tuition has grown over the years, scholarships, loans and grants only cover so much. So I have designed a patch to congratulate her graduating from high school and to help pay for a portion of her college tuition. The pre-order closes on 30Apr17. We need a minimum of 40 patches ordered otherwise the run will be canceled. As you see in the picture of the patch, Wolf-fang is her internet screen name ( which is also her MMCC screen name), her graduation class of 2017, her helmet wearing a cap and tassel in her high school colors over the Sabine starbird and it will be 3" diameter. Besides this being her graduation from high school, it's her graduation from being a Verd'ika, as she will be applying for full MMCC OM status on her birthday in July, as well as membership in the Rebel Legion. Right now we are opening up a pre-order for the patch. The price per patch will be $5 shipped domestic, $6 international. We are looking at mid May for when the patches will ship out. I do the same thing. Also the one piece cloak comes from the KOTOR model of the character. When SL 5862 built the costume he only had the one picture from the CotF game and that was the front view. So he took aspects of the KOTOR model to fill in the blanks. So the CRL's are based off of the first person to to have the costume. Since Scott's costume was the first for that version his take has become gospel. In the recent months people have been challenging this and the debate arises. It does attach to the mask by Velcro at 3 points, but does separate. My mask has 1" elastic straps that secure it to my head over my blackout mask. Then I can just slip the hood on over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had gotten a wide plastic hair band and built the corner horns off of it out of eva, craft foam and some scrap Sinatra. The eva foam is used for the base corners with 2 or 3 mm craft foam layed over to get the shape. The scrap sintra or pvc foam board is glued to the head band and is shaped to your head. As you see from the image above the craft foam is cut in a triangular piece bridging the corners and the back of the head. This gives the flattop look to the character. There really isn't an appeal process that I know of and at this point I don't think it would matter. I have the DL on my side so it's not like they can screw me over especially with his eyes on the matter. Unfortunately each Garrison has sovereignty when it comes to approving Costumes and it's one person who oversees particular detachments. From what I gather, that person who is the overseer also may have an approved costume from the detachments they oversee. Unlike the MMCC, who have a committee/team of people who look over every costume for approval and it's made up of individuals from all over the club in different clans. This assured that the clan cannot be elitist, only allowing certain people in and not others. I'm my personal opinion the 501st needs to adopt this way of recruiting as there will be a set uniform understanding of the CRL's and no personal interpretation of the said CRL's. Even if it's each detachment has its own approval team that deal with just those characters that are apart of that detachment would be better then each garrison judging. In a perfect situation Thomas and Dawn should have final say weather or not a costume can and should be approved. Once a GML has made his findings they should pass it along to the detachment for final analysis. Yet I don't know how this can be accomplished or how to get it started. The DL has been advocating on my behalf for a while now. The GML's are taking the description very literally and going by the absolute letter of the CRL. I'm a member of the MMCC and if someone applied with their costume the base colors and just hole/tears, their app would be rejected for improper weathering. You need to distress more then just tearing up the fabric, the color needs to be faded and dirty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So weathering is the distress of an object making it look used and old. So how can you have a weathered costume still be pristine in its color? My app has been rejected because my weathering looks like weathering and I have battle damage, burn holes that look like burn holes. My belt has a smudge on it and it looks used. How can you have an item be weathered but still be the original pristine color? That is illogical and goes against the meaning of weathering. Can someone please explain to me how this can happen? I wear a hakama as well, it does give it a bit more of a fullness to the skirt.

It looks like you only have one skirt. Do you not have the inner skirt on in the picture?

Here are the pics I submitted to the GML of GGG for my 5th attempt. They are both arms up/down and close ups of the hood crown, belt/obi and knot. These were requested by the GML that I send all of those to him. Since this thread was started I have gotten a response from the GML about my application; "There are a few more things that will need some correcting. The cat ears look much better though. - Your obi looks wider than it should be. Might be the layers. Should be about 4" wide. Can you get a close up with a tape measure for me? - Your belt also looks wide. Should be about 2" wide. Same thing, just want to confirm the size. - Hood/cape looks to be 2 pieces with the under fold on your shoulders. It should be 1 piece and drape straight down from the top of the head. Where it comes over the shoulders it shouldn't have a fold in the material. - Cape weathering doesn't match the front weathering. It appears to be cut straight across the bottom and has holes burned into it that have left ash residue. I would recommend matching the weathering on the front of the costume and then dying the entire cape so the blacks all match. It also looks like the cape has turned blue in spots. The heavy weathering along the bottom edge that you have on the front should match the back for a more uniform look. Everything else looks in good order so far. " As requested, I am waiting to hear back about the vote about the hood and that I do not at this time attempt to do the fixes that the GML has suggested. As it stands I don't think that 2016 will be my year for the 501st.
