  1. Woohoo! Excited to see how this comes out.

I will say, definitely go with a more varied sleeve pleat than the red kylo pictured if that is the method you plan to use, and definitely a darker, more rich red.

  2. If there is an existing CRL on the 501st site that needs updating or rewriting, post the original here in the default text color that shows up on desktop mode. Any corrections or changes will be written below each specific area in yellow to portray the corrections.

If you are commenting on the edits proposed in yellow, copy them to your comment, use the strike through to take out what you are editing, and put the new edit proposals in red next to it.

Anyone can propose changes, but supply reference images for exactly what you are questioning.

For CRLs that have no text, omit the original text and follow the same procedure.

  5. I agree that at least 2 CRLs are needed for Aphra. (3 if you take into account the black/red jacket variation.) There's too much different between how Walker draws Aphra (solo book) and how Larroca does (Vader). I think that for this one/the Vader one, we can build the sleeve length and jacket into the CRL as optional since it's much closer to be the same outfit than the Walker/solo book one.

So, we can set them up as, "Doctor Aphra: Darth Vader Comic Edition" and, "Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra" as her standalone version since they expand on her name in the standalone comic. Both can have the jacket as an option, alone with the aviator cap, goggles, and for the one you're doing (Vader edition), it can also list the zipper you mentioned with the vest.

Both with have black hair color with a range between shoulder and chest length, with both including the, "loose, side-swept bangs".

For the tattoos, several drawn versions can be shown for reference like what Dawn did, and mention that,"something similar" be needed.

    How's that sound?

  6. Her pants look exactly like Han's in the comics (ok her entire outfit does).

    s-l500-1.jpg

On that, I would definitely not say that are denim and some the same fabric style as Han IRL but with a more fitted look made from a stretch fabric in the same dark or navy blue the RL call for in the CRL.

The hair length can be listed to be in the range of what the comics cover, from what I can tell to be between shoulder and chest length, but it does need to be black and it does need to state a hair length. Other CRLs do state color and length, as with Admiral Daala, Nyna Calixte, DoI Isard, and even our own Mara Jade and her variants. CRLs within TFE are being rewritten as we speak to take things like this into consideration.

I agree with Dawn about the thigh strap that attaches to the holster from the belt. It needs to hang more separately from the belt at an angle.

Since there are some pretty major discrepancies between the Vader comic version (which I'm assuming yours is based on with the vest design you have) and her standalone comic, it'll probably be a good idea to mention this and adjust the two CRLs accordingly, or break one CRL into two versions similar to how Tiers work for accuracy.

    Example being

For Vader comic version: the vest is a simple fitted red form with epaulets located on the shoulders and no additional embellishments.

For Standalone version: the vest is a simple fitted red vest with two pockets located at the lower front of each side of the vest. There is also a piped seam outlining the front of the vest and extends from the bottom of the vest to the side seams and up to the chest.

  7. Black leather or leather-like smooth texture gloves with no shine finish to them, and no additional embellishments for his. Silk would have too much of a sheen, and most fabrics used to gloves are not smooth texture. If there is stitching that is completely covered by the hand plate, it will be alright, but none of the stitching can show around the plate when it is on your hand.

    Hope that makes sense!

These are a more fitted option, but are a good example for the low sheen and smooth texture with no embellishments or detail stitching.

  8. Give me a day to look at all the references we've got and do a bit more research on it. I'll gather a list of stuff and compare it to yours to see what should be added, if anything!

  9. So, I went through the high def video at .25x speed and managed to grab this for the back details. The only thing missing is the belt and pants detail, which, TBH, if you have the robe as a part of the costume for, can be argued that they aren't necessary for the approval, similar to Revan's back plate and kidney plate right now.

Plus, at some point, you can assertain that based on the front and side details of her pants from the 3D rendering, her....ass.....ets show no signs of additional details on just her cheeks or the back of the legs. Even the red stripes seem limited to just the 2, but would be one of those things that *if* a future reference comes out that shows that 3" width of area on her leg not visible does prove to get a red stripe or something detailed to it, it could easily be added without the need to change what the costume is written as, and, at least from where I can see, would allot for access to the 360 degree reference eligibility for approval references.

Additionally, here's another couple angles on the lekku tattoo design for 360 degree and another up close of the details and greebles of the bracer (especially those metal prongs sticking out the sides).

Her bracer seems a lot more rectangular than the Jedi one, with sharper edges and more details, as well as a different "block" setup on the top of it, which you can see in more detail in the image above compared.

Here's a side by side to explain better. Each color signifies an area of "difference" between the basic structural shape of the two.

  10. I would advise maybe getting a bit heavier of a surface weather on the armor parts after watching the Deceived and Alderaan videos again. Like, applying a coat of really thinned paint, letting it sit for a bit, and then dabbing to remove with a sponge or microfiber towel to match the weathering in the groves. It doesn't have to be a heavy weather, but so it is consistent in showing the dark areas as weathering vs outlining.

Those shoes seem perfect for the task!
