  1. My biggest factor is that the in-show boots have the covers reach all the way down to the sole along the back ankle and heel. This would pretty much make it impossible to walk if they were rigid material. You could take the, "but the clones and stormtroopers bend funny with hard armor, too!" aspect, but then it comes down to the point of making it look like it does in the show, and using what we have to be able to actually move naturally and without limitation.

Also, the belt buckle pictured in the CRL is way too large compared to reference photos and is not in line with what the CRL verbiage reads.

I think the vinyl/leather boot coverings should be acceptable, with hard armor covers as a level 2 requirement, but EVA foam should be a definite no-go.

We're trying to get these things fixed. Thanks to your guys' help, it should be a smoother process.

  3. So long as it is a smooth texture that isn't knit looking and heavier fabric to facilitate the necessary drape, the fabric should work. There are some polyester blends that work nicely for a more affordable cost, but if you have the $$ and the fabric matches the necessary points, go for it!

  4. Greetings and salutations, forum members!

One thing that I want to stress and inform about in this post is Detachment Membership. As part of the detachment, you have access to many benefits not available to regular 501st members, but the benefits are not automatic.

Per the 501st Operations and Protocols,

"Formal membership, voting rights, and eligibility for office in a detachment requires that a Legion member be active, own a qualifying costume as represented by the detachment, and have the corresponding costume designation in his/her profile. The approval of said costume is, however, still the purview of the LMO. Ownership of a qualifying costume is verified annually as part of the Legion census. Membership in a detachment is optional, and you can be a member of more than one detachment. Membership is initiated by the Legion member when the above criteria is met and they register on the detachment's forum. Active status is maintained by logging onto said forum once a year. Failing this, the member becomes an inactive member of the detachment. All that is required to be reactivated is to once again log in."

What this means is that, in order to vote in elections, you must have an active account on THIS forum (e.g. logged in within the last 365 days), AND be on the 501st Membership DB under the detachment roster.

*NOTE* You do NOT need to be in the 501st Membership DB to buy merch or participate in Member Programs, but you DO need to be registered here and be at least Detachment Member rank.

So, how do you go about completing these steps? Well, I'm glad you asked! Below is a quick and detailed setup to get you going.

    TFE Forums Membership

First and foremost, make sure that your information is updated with your TKID, 501st link, and Garrison/Squad/Outpost unit.

Go to Menu -> Account -> Profile -> Edit ProfileProfile.png

You can find your 501st link by going to 501st.com/forumhttps://www.501st.com/holocron/member/search, logging in, and typing in your TKID. Click on the "more..." button next to your name, and when you are on your profile page, copy the link and put it in your TFE Forum profile under, "501st Profile". Do NOT copy and paste the generic results list.

    501st Link.png

Once all of that is completed, you can then go to the Permissions Request thread and request Detachment Membership by following the directions:

    http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1660-501stsld-andor-tfe-detachment-access-requests/

Just make sure you log in at least once every 365 days (more is ALWAYS a better idea ;) ) and you will be set to stay as an active TFE forum member and participate in Membership Programs and merchandise.

    501st DB Membership

Now that you have the TFE part of Detachment Membership down, it's time to get your voting abilities locked down.

Go to 501st.com/forum, click Quick Links drop down menu -> Member DB/Census -> log in-> YOUR PROFILE DATA ->  Your Unit Affiliation -> Edit

From here, you can add the Flagship Eclipse Detachment (if you aren't Pending already due to your GML adding you).

*IMPORTANT NOTE* It is alright if you are not immediately added to the list! Myself and the Det XO check it regularly against existing TFE Forum accounts based on TKIDs (why the first steps were necessary) and then approve from there. The DB is only required for voting, and I can assure you that it is all updated before elections!

At this point, you are 100% a Detachment Member of the Flagship Eclipse, and are eligible for ALL the benefits that membership offers!

If you have any issues with the process, you can contact TheFlagshpEclipse@gmail.com and I can help you sort out any issues!

Is there gonna be any further Changes to the CRL other than the clasps? I know some like the hood and the capelet are gonna be changed

Yeah, but if you follow what I've been telling you during or conversations, you'll be fine.

P.s. the CRL edits go live this weekend.

  6. As for the vambraces, If you make the pieces wider, you can use the internal seam line that is supposed to be present to cover your straps, or just connect both halves permanently together. The ridges that should be present don't seem to be on yours. Here is what I mean.

I just want to make sure I know the right place to create a WIP thread for an incomplete CRL character.  I'm planning to start a Savage Opress later this year, once my Darth Maul is complete. I can see a forum section under "Incomplete CRL" for "Dark Side Adepts" but there aren't any WIPs there.  There is a thread for the missing Savage Opress photos.  Do I start a new thread there in the Dark Side Adepts section for my WIP?

Those are for the CRLs themselves. You'll want the "Approved Costumes" area for Savage. Here's the link!

Good luck on the build :)

  8. Greetings! Sorry for the late reply, but I have been unwell and traveling (a great combination), but am back up and running now.

This topic was brought up previously and it was decided that, it is possible to do, but it would need to include a full and single-piece body suit, and the face must show your own actual eyes and mouth. That means it must encircle but not cover the eye socket area and the lips with prosthetic adhesive. The bodysuit must look like actual skin in that it can't look like a shirt or sleeves in separated pieces.

If you can take care of that, then there is no stopping you.

  9. I am not much help on the jacket templates, but if the jacket cogs and vinyls show as high gloss material, then so long as they are attached properly (no lifting edges or major wrinkles in the vinyl), I would not see an issue.

  10. The majority have agreed that the boot covers are high-reflect spats of fabric material given the assembly ad attaching of them to the boots themselves. (specifically the way that it reaches all the way down to the back of the heel).

  11. I am seeing some issues with the overall costume if you are going for 501st approval. I'll list them below.

    1. The mask is far too large in proportion to the costume.

    2. The ab fabric strips are too wide and should be no more than maybe 5" height total.

    3. The bracers look soft and the attachment method is not a seamless method as in the game files.

    4. The skirt is not pleated with the box-pleat style.

    5. Full gloves, including fingers, are required.

Are there hand plates in the photo?
