  1. Good thing you put in extra snaps because there will be 4-6 layers around your waist before the belt goes on, depending on whether your skirts are worn above or below the waist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah I would still run the design by your Garrison GML before buying it, as each one has their own preference. Mine, for example, said the outsole and heel of my original boots were not simple enough in design. So I just bought Jack boots Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Looks great on you! I've had some issues with the Velcro from the hood to the mask during comic con. Just know that heat and sweat may make be Velcro strap fall off the hood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Oh really? I was let up the elevator but it was pretty early in the morning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah I was being poked at by Jawa [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. CRL only suggests body paint and unfortunately no cloak to speak of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hey Craig, Iggy on the fx-sabers forums made me a Nihilus saber from scratch. Check it out on my thread if you want to see how it turned out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If you really want to talk to the detachment leader you can email him: TheCloneEmperor@gmail.com The design of the gloves look fine but from the 2 photos supplied the fingers look too large on you. How do they feel when you hold stuff? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Any saber hilt from KOTOR works for approval as the saber itself is not required. Iggy from the fx-sabers.com forums makes a really nice Nihilus saber, which I linked in my thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If you have a black face mask instead of a blackout mask you can try using a shemagh. A shemagh will keep your head cool. I use it under my black mask to keep the sweat out of my eyes. The best part is that it's versatile so you can wear it any way you want to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks to Iggy from fx-sabers for custom making this amazing Nihilus saber. I asked for no sound because it won't hold up as long in dueling. https://youtu.be/VstwrjpgClg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. No problem [emoji16] Also if you're looking for a saber I'd recommend looking up Iggy on fx-sabers.com He custom-made me this: https://flic.kr/p/HZyp4T Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Many of us get masks from him as well. If you were to buy from him ask for a 2nd tunic for approval requirements. He offers gloves as well but I wouldn't buy them because we need ones without stitching patterns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I got my mask from WickedArmor on Etsy but he lives in the states. There's also Rezori in the sales forum who has a site for masks but he's in Canada. There might be some Etsy sellers outside of the states that can do a mask. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. People have been going as Matt to several Cons as of late. Trooping is another case.
  18. Hello, I hope you haven't invested in those gloves you listed just yet because they must be simple gauntlet gloves. These have straps, added padding, etc that don't match the Nihilus CRL. My post has an example of what they are looking for, in terms of approvable gloves.
  19. Thanks for all the helpful posts my fellow Nihilus. I am now SL-75757
  20. Finally got my German Jack boots and turns out they were too thin around my calves. Used super sharp scissors to cut them down a bit, so now they fit perfectly. I was just notified that I was approved so I'll be getting my legion ID within the next few days to weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. These are from glovecityleather518 on eBay and I've gotta say, I'm pretty in love with them compared to the last pair of gloves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. So before approval I've been notified that I need more plain Jack boots, which I might have a solution for via local costume store. I've seen them sell pirate boots when I went there 2 years ago (yes that's too long ago). The gloves however are a big issue. If you look really close, you can see that the fingers are a tad too long and clunky on my hands. The size of the gauntlet is accurate and goes to mid-forearm, and it technically fits the width of my hand. I just don't have long fingers and thumbs like most men do. I don't know if the shop will have gauntlet leather gloves on hand, but we'll certainly see tomorrow when I stop by for the boots. In the high chance that they won't have what I need, does anyone have recommendations for Nihilus gloves?
  23. So I'm using a sculpted mask from MWA and it still shows part of my cheeks in full costume. Since it's Spring I'm having a hell of a time finding a balaclava in stores. A friend of mine recommended that I get a black shemagh instead because it's more cooling than a balaclava. Any thoughts on this? This would ideally sit under the sculpted black mask. I know some prefer to buy a blackout mask and just wear their skull over it. I'm down for either option but I heard that having the skull sitting directly on your face gets uncomfortable over time.
  24. I have a first order undersuit feels fine with the robes on but I'm feeling that compression pants and UnderArmour shirt is the way to go. Ruins my cover-up plan for the old boots though, so I REALLY need the right boots now.
  25. Thanks for the replies. It's all very helpful, especially the detail on the skirts (which I might have to wear even higher on my torso). As for my submission pics to my GML I'm thinking of also adding a close-up of my tunics to show that I have 2 of them, and one holding my inner and outer skirts apart to show that I have 2 of them. I probably also need to show a close up of the gloves to show that they are plain and the sleeves to show that they are patterned. My boots are getting pretty worn anyways so I'll look into a local army surplus for anything resembling German Jack boots for sale. Getting a balaclava is easy enough. What do you typically wear under the robes? I have a black long sleeve UnderArmour shirt and black martial arts pants (they're really worn out already so I thought it would be perfect).
