Okee doke. At the good monitor, went through the pics, and now for the review.
First the good:
Really close. A lot of what's in my "bad" are quick fixes and may just be artifacts of how the suit was sitting during that wearing.
Flow is looking great, you've got a nice voluminous look going.
I like the gloves
Saber looks terrific as well!
Does it have electronics in it? (not needed at all, I'm just curious)And the things that I could see that aren't quite right or need a little something.
The hood and "horns" when viewed from the side are too far back. The horns should push forward far enough to bring the drape of the hood down so that it almost covers the entire face.
The black face casting could really use a coat of either matte black or some dulling spray to kill the shine on it. It looks plastic right now.
The neck area of your balaclava is hanging pretty loose. If the eye coverings are built into your mask you might consider changing over to a spandex hood like the underarmor heat gear hoods (gives a tight neck line, but leaves the face uncovered.)
The tunics look a bit too loose, which happens just from moving around, so it's just a matter of pulling them tighter again.
You'll need a new belt though. Nihilus' doesn't have any visible buckles at all. (if you're able to turn the small belt around on the existing belt so that the buckle is in the back, you'll probably be good to go with it.)
Can't see the second layer of skirt in there, but that's needed as well.
And last but not least. More tattering, both to the cape and the bottom edges of the tunics, and skirts.

I'm definitely not a revan master, but I do know those boots
. The straps are pretty easy to remove. Use a sharp utility knife and slowly snip the stitches back to the cross stitch and then slowly slice through the straps themselves. Both the ankle straps and upper straps can be removed.How did you handle the zipper? or is it really not that noticeable when all suited up?
I left the zipper alone. Once you're suited up, it's not going to be all that noticeable at all.

Yea i completely feel your struggle trying to find boots. I did find one pair on ebay that is close but i worry about the strap and the zipper, As you can see in the link below they are close but i think i would need to cut off that strap near the heel and maybe cover up the zipper somehow.

And yep, it's a LOT of fabric, but other than the cape wanting to drag back to choke you with the knot, it really is nice and relatively lightweight.

I dunno Thomas...I'm not sure that they have enough of a gauntlet flare for a COTF Nihilus. Maybe a KOTOR2 version though....

You'll get a little in the seams, how much will depend on how tightly your original negative fits together, you'll have to do a little, probably fairly minimal, sanding to remove the flashing.

That's how we did mine, yup. Though we didn't do the fingers, just up to the knuckles. I don't think you'd have a lot of luck doing the plaster bandage method to capture fingers, just too small an area. For something like that you might want/need to go with a rubber brush on mold material with an external shell.
I saw the tutorial on how to make a life cast of the head and shoulders but I want to make a lifecast of my arms from bicep to fingers, do I basically use the same idea as the headcast layering bandages on one side then applying vaseline on the edge then covering the other side or how do I start doing this? -
They're not bad, but honestly I'd keep looking. For the price, you can find a glove that doesn't have that big seam attaching the cuff.

We've already improved on the fit of the lekku and wraps since this was taken, so soon there will be more action oritented photos.

You know....as much as I like your Durge and Clone Emperor, I think this is my favorite of your costumes. The knee pads really do add to the look of the lower legs too.
Have you thought about maybe silicon cast around a fabric strap with velcro on it to do teh bracer straps?

(Of course, the downside to living in a house with multiple generations is the fact that lots of people do the shopping and most of them are not on a diet. Try staying out of the freezer on a hot day when there are 5 different kinds of ice cream calling out to you.... errrrgggg!!!!)

You're really looking for the appearance of 3 layers of tunic. With the sleeves being really the only visible part of the innermost layer. To create that look, most of the COTF Nihilus's that I've seen did what I we did on mine. Create the sleeves and attach them to what would be the middle tunic.
The sleeves should still be black, and yup cotton works for them. (it's what we used on my sleeves).

You might not wanna hear it, but you need to put on the whole costume, or at least the upper body parts to do the trials with the cape(s). That way you'll get the correct drape of the fabric against the fabric you'll be using. It'll slide and hang differently against different fabrics.
One thing to keep in mind, Nihilus doesn't wear his cape forward over his body. He wears it pushed back almost all the way over his shoulders. Play with it at that angle to work on your cloak drape.
(it took us a couple weeks of fiddling with the cape hang to get things to look right btw)

These ones look the best so far. They do still stick up a little too much into sharp points, but they're the best looking you've done so far.

No news was good news (or a sign that my internet was out last night.) The set of pics you posted before the most recent ones looked very good for the crown! The most recent one....no, bad Nihilus costumer, you put those points back where they were.
Yep, the cheapy halloween store blackout masks are...cheapy halloween store quality. Get yourself a nice spandex blackout mask. Picked mine up by searching for zentai hoods. (Keep in mind while searching that that's probably NOT a search that's safe for work.) The biggest challenge you'll have is going to be finding one that doesn't have a seam across your face.

Maycol's correct, your "horns" are misplaced. They sit far too high and it looks (based on the way the fabric is draped) like they're sitting forward too far as well. The width looks relatively ok.
The hood isn't flowing correctly yet. The obvious places where the fabric turns under looks off, and the seam down the middle really is distracting.
Knot is too low on the chest. The tunics look like they're hanging open too much. (that's something that you'll end up having to adjust constantly while wearing.)
Can't really tell if the layers on the skirt are correct.
The weathering though, does indeed look good!

Ah, but in this case the magic word is look. They don't look like they're ribbed with the seams, and that's what's important.

Great start!
Can't really see all the details in your pics, but from what I can see, I only see a very few things that are not quite right yet.
1. Layers at the legs. Remember, Nihilus has 2 layers of skirts in this version, with slits running from the bottom to the belt area. Looks like you're missing 1 bottom layer and the slits. Can't make out the layers for the upper body at all. Looking for the appearance of 3 layers of tunic.
2. Length. The skirts and cape should sweep down and come very close to the floor. (related, but more of a taste thing, your cape could be a little fuller)
3. Knot. Can't see the knot for the cape at all.
4. Quilting on the sleeves, the COTF costume has quilted padding on the sleeves like what you see on Darth Vader's costume.
And recommendation: More tattering! In a lot of the pics, the tattering looks kinda blocky, like it was cut with scissors instead of like wear. (hit it with a stiff bristle wire brush or cheese grater, it'll pull the material apart more and give you a more natural tatter pattern.

Honestly...in my opinion, neither.
The top one has a couple pretty bad problems.
1. the inset area where the red stripes go.
2. the areas on the forehead and the top of the head appear to be empty. My guess is that this is the mask that was made by the person who tried to convince everyone that there were black jewels in the Nihilus mask. (there aren't.)
The bottom one.
The ridge top detail doesn't seem to be complete.
The whole mask looks off...

You basically want the skirt to be about 1 inch off the ground.
Depending on how the cape is attached, (can't see how it's attached at all in the pics) it does look like a decent starter point for a KOTOR Nihilus.
Make sure that:
the skirt is cut long enough to get down close to the ground, while you have boots on (cause even low heel boots change your height and how you stand when compared to tennis shoes)
The cape is attached via the two sewn points at the shoulders.
And recommendations.
I'd also probably ask about getting some extra fabric to put over the waist gather, it looks messy in the pic, a quick and eash fabric belt in the same rough size over it would greatly improve the look.
The hood. Is just totally the wrong shape. mask looks great, but the peaks at the sides are so weak as to be non-existant.
Get yourself some nice gauntlet style gloves with a minimal flare.

For the sleeves, I'd go with the fabric on the left in your pic.
Orange threads now, after you start weathering the Nihilus stuff, it'll be black threads forever....
