Revan Mask and soft parts update

So I'm about to paint up the Revan mask and have a question:

 

the red around the mask is "Rust Red" but I had a cool idea of emulating a rust effect on the paint application. Would that be acceptable for 501st standards or should I just paint it "rust red" .

Managed to paint the cheeks black and started masking off the weathering for the Red section:

it just depends on what the final product looks like, if it matches the references it's good
