  1. They look nice, but where they are 3d printed from PLA I don't think they will stand up to any abuse. I think if anything more than a belt hanger (I know which is odd on Asajj), they will break.

Do you have a library with a 3d printer? If so you could make some of your own, and see what you think of the material.

  2. Yes, it is a deep red and not smooth. Crushed velvet isn't a good match and the others look to be too smooth.

It should have ridges in it, black and red.

I believe what we found at JoAnns for Brita's was called a crepe or Taffeta (sorry it has been a while),

    It laid and matched well.

  3. Exactly. As your girlfriend is not an animated character these things should all be proportionate to her frame, based on the reference.

We made LadyB's medallions from Sintra. Be sure you get material that is a good match for the costume, both the crumbled red and grey are unique.

    As to the three.

    1. I suppose based on some. As it is a fitted design care in tailoring is important.

2, All relative to how it is made.

    3. Excellent, glad to have her be involved. :)

  4. Silicone sounds good.

Shaving is totally up to you, not required by any means. Brita used a cap for her first several troops, before going that route after having the cap and stuff fail to attach on a humid day before a big Relay for Life event. She handed me the clippers and said do it, we need to go. I handed them back, told her I loved her and would support whatever she wanted to do, but I wasn't cutting off her her. She gave herself an anti-Mohawk and said hurry we'll be late.

Her build thread is here: http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/210-help-on-new-ventress/page-1

  5. The concept version is a fav. and on the other comment, if totally hidden and the hood is secure that is probably fine for less formal events.

For clarity sake, this is the Mrs. and she is shaved bald here:

Liquid latex was recommended to me for making wrinkles for Dooku, but alas I'd look more like the end of ROTS Anakin if we did that.

Does silicone bother you? I think you cna get caps made out of that. With some careful airbrushing you can layer some colours to give it a skin-like feel.

  6. Which version of Asajj Ventress are you wanting to make?

I have the same issue with Latex, it is no fun at all. I'm not sure what to recommend for adhesives and whatnot. My wife chooses to donate her hair and shave these days for Asajj. She didn't react so I wore nitrile grove when helping.

I'm not familiar with plastic bald caps but be sure the fit is smooth and the surface looks like skin instead of plastic. There may be some silicone ones that work well, if that doesn't bother you.

  7. What version of Illustrator are you using?

Do you have the Page Tiling (box icon under the hand on the toolbar) placed where it overlaps the patterns? If not it could be in a white section as these are quite large.
