  1. More Asajj always welcome, we'll help where we can. Which version are you working on? If it is the clone wars concept it appears the top is inverted as that one is dark on the sides and lighter gray in the middle.
  2. Yes, that is true about Anakin. In the comics Obi saw her as very much like Ani without Qui-gon to help. It has 2 sources that I'm aware of, the image above and the 30th anniversary EU coin. The images from the origin story itself are a simpler outfit. If someone knows another source that would be great. I would like to submit it to the RL, we'll see. Pictures coming soon.
  3. I'm working on this one, just for fun. To clarify, it wouldn't be a 501st costume as at this point she is a Jedi Padawan to Ky Nerec fighting the good fight, but as the Flagship feels like home for Asajj I wanted to share here. It might be able to get into the RL, but we'll have to see. Right now I'm sewing the Tabbards/Outer Tunic and skirt and Michael is working on the belts and saber hilt. I'll post pictures as soon as I have some of it together.
  4. Looking good. Nice to see that you're sticking it out. It does get easier, I promise (see my costume thread for similarly lengthy first go at it). What I use is actually a cake/foundation. One thing that has really helped is to use a large natural sponge to apply it. Also blot it on instead of rubbing. Then I use baby powder applied with a blush brush to set it and do final smoothing. The tattoos look really nice. I hope that was easier.
  5. The skirt almost looks printed to me, from the animation I'd probably choose crushed velvet. She definitely has some prostheses on the jaw, back, and top of the head. Some images from a link on the SW Newsletter:

    Asajj Boots

Fun, it is looking good. As has been linked elsewhere, if you'd like, my husband put the template we use for the tattoos online here.
  7. Someone was in this costume at the current SWW (a Disney employee perhaps?) You might check the video or photos of the event for reference. She can be seen from about 6:00 till 6:18

    Asajj Boots

Looks to me that the boots pictured are a pretty good match. Thomas could say for sure. from the standards for the concept version, the boots could be buckled or unbuckled I believe. If you'd like to see what I used check out my costume thread. If I can provide any help with the costume feel free and ask.
  9. Some excellent suggestions from JainaSoloFel, who has been kind enough to assist me in the massive makeup effort of Ventress a time or two. Do be careful with the all white, build up some details such as the cheek bones etc, else you run the risk of what I encountered the first time (admittedly with cheap Halloween make-up) that I like to call the marshmallow syndrome. You definitely want it to look more like this than that when done:
  10. Looking good, glad we could assist.
  11. 1. Unless making it of metal I'd try rub 'n buff. That has seemed to be the best I've found so far for this sort of thing. 2. Admittedly very tricky, far and away the hardest part of my build. 3. There is a great section on here for the cap by sakara (viewtopic.php?t=1068). If it would help my husband has made our tattoo template available as well. http://www.mcapell3d.com/images/AsajjTats.pdf 4. Not sure exactly what you refer to but would be happy to help if I can. The the belt version without the obi my husband added a rod to the middle of the O that had the one side of the belt wrapped around and sewn to it. We're revising some belt things but this one has worked well, I believe there are some detailed images in my costume thread. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1188&start=0
  12. OK, cool, the ones above the ear were just further back than I'm used to seeing them, but their size and position varied quite a bit in the various references. This one is my favorite:
  13. It may just be the photos, but your material for the shirt appears to be black and not blue. Is that right?
  14. Congrats, looks great. Do share more pictures as they become available. Curious I can't see them did you put on the tattoos?
  15. Looks great, and congratulations. The pinwheel is the one thing that has kept me from doing this one.
  16. It's true I finally finished up my movie style Barriss done. I got pictures with Liz for it on Monday and got it sent in. While taking the photos we discovered why Barriss has such a large hood: and that Leku are quite slimming (at least compared to an overly tight balaclava). My husband successfully infiltrated as well last week in true EU fashion: as Corran Horn
  17. LOL, too true, a large part of why I'm bald now. A humid day a cancer fundraiser and a bald cap that wouldn't stay down.
  18. Sounds good, I'm excited to see it. My husband was saying on your image above that your facial structure really matches how she was drawn in the 2D cartoon (some of the best Asajj IMHO). Excited to see how it comes together.

    My wifes Mara

The hair does look much better. 'grats! Was there anything in particular that helped to tame the mane (would be helpful to a girl wearing wigs more often since choosing the bald look). Thanks.
  20. Looking good. What did you have planned for the belts and buckle? Best of luck with the neck armour. It is one of the trickiest part of the costume to be sure. I'm currently using the third version of it I've made.
  21. Best of luck with it ~Elyon, I hope it turns out well.
