  1. Hey you! Have you made any changes? I dont see any updated images. GREAT START! I think youve done wonders thus far.

I dont think you persay need to replace anything just some fine tuning will make this baby POP!

    Recommendations

-Id un seam the sleeves and tighten them. You can add a zipper to form fit them and zipper yourself into the sleeves

-Id make the skirting at the bottom pointed like in the posted reference

-Chest armor: this might be a simple fix. you used foam? just super heat it and press it to your chest to form fit the armor better

-Legs: Same thing. id un seam and tighten a tad

-Boots: They look off reference, do you have closeups sir?

:) I cant wait to see more! looks great!

  2. Hey you! Can you post some reference shots of the original costume? I LOVE this costume and its extremely detailed. I have only seen it attempted (heck talked about even) only a handful of times! Each point of your CRL description can then lay out each piece with backup images to show that you got all the points :D Great job thus far!!

  3. Hello to you! i hope i can be of assistance sir!

Watching the video youll need to get a good 360 turn around.

is this image that states "bioware concept" is a 3d model made by someone as you know... if you could get an ingame version that "should be" enough to get you started. i myself own a SWTOR Revan costume and thats exactly how i got it approved. they put it into SWTOR.   :) But i had full 360 turn arounds.

We basically cant allow people to "make up" what the back would look like. I love this costume and am a huge fan of revan. I hope you can find some more images

  4. I do not think that is raw silk. Raw silk runs around 25$ a yard on the cheap. The material in the images has a slight poly sheen and raw silk in itself has a bite and grit to it.. I dunno.. if he is using Raw silk thats a steal price wise..., just take an image of the fabric your looking to buy and i might be able to help you. No images on google are large enough for me to see weave.

  5. This is looking fantstic! Aye as what you said above which ever one of you complete the costume first you will be known as the Legion 1st. You'll be setting the standard for everyone after you. It's very exciting and something I myself am addicted to. I love making Legion 1st! Be prepared to have your reference ready when you submit though you guys seem to have that! :)

  6. Hello! One of the biggest things I have learned over the years is reference first and CRL Second.

We know the costume is approvable. It just can't have "puppetry". Your best plan of attack is to make a thread on the forum and build a Work in progress, as with any costume I reccomend this reguardless of difficulty. You'll end up with much helpful feedback in creating this costume

  7. We are in a very strange time right now. The entire detachments IMHO have been turned upside down due to TFA and while we can "fit people in" here and there, sometimes places are a better fit.

The Flagship Eclipse is for Expanded Universe costumes. By definition Kylo is not that

Ill quote maz: "They used to be called the Sith, then the empire now it is the first order"

Kylo is the same IMHO. He by definition of what used to be the term "Sith" He is a "Darkdside Cannon Movie Force User" which would fit much closer.

Inquizitor is a "Cannon Television Dark Side User"

Remember up until 6 months or so ago the "Flagship Eclipse" was 100% cannon. Just because Disney took that away doesnt mean we wont build more Cannon Expanded Universe Costumes (hence I assume why you would ask about Kylo)

But IMHO this is not the place for Kylo. :)

Hope that helps explain my insane thoughts.

  8. Hello sir! Yes we purposefully wrote it to where you could fake it. a good example is Anakins (Pre-armor vader) inner tunic. while it doesnt say you have to make the whole thing it only describes the parts you can see, so what you do with your interpretation is up to you

  9. Your armor is looking really nice!!! Totally lame comment (and nothing looks incorrect) but make sure that when you put your robe on that it doesn't bunch in the back. I know this is something you'll have to ask someone else to do as I know how hard it is to move in such costumes. See how your robe is bunching behind your neck and making it raise really high between your legs? :)

  10. Thank you so much and yes I will!!

Still working out some kinks but it'll look much like this one :) I've got my start of it right here. Keep watch within the next few days! Ive just been working out this one because sad to say I know a lot more about it where as with Rey I spat the costume out in 24 hours so the research isn't there. I literally "made what I saw" :D it's really embarasing to admit that fact but was a very fun costume to make!

I ordered my saber from a 3D printer company. I dont persay recommend any of the company's as they are all fine. The saber is pretty rough. All three of sabers I have are just fine. The saber at the exhibit looks very rough.

    1. Spray paint the saber with gunmetal colored spray.
    2. Spray the top with a brighter silver and fade the color. Mess up the paint
    3. Use acrylic paint to detail the darker parts.
    4. Paint the red and blue lines. Can shade them with a darker tone as well.
    5. Take Bright red and Bright yellow and jab it into the 3 sections. Fade out on the edges with your brush.

I sculpted my helmet using Monster Magic Poly Clay

I then used Mineral Oil to smooth over the entire head

    BVXYqar.jpg

I built a wall and casted it in Silicone

    FwW186g.jpg

I then casted the helmet in Black powered Resin 65D

    uZjfKFv.jpg

I sanded the heck out of the helmet

I used Real Chrome Bumper Paint to paint the top

Silver Black to paint the bottom and added details in Acrylic

  13. That material looks phenomenal. Seriously. i remember the convo about the blankets I think they will be close enough. The material on the right seriously is so close though. But eww 35.00 Painful.

Im headed to the Fabric District on monday (again) to scour (again) for more material of what I used for mine. I cant believe how hard this stuff is to find

  14. Surcoat

    Pattern

Youll need around 10 yards of material to make this Surcoat

    Top

    Back skirting

    NsPnW7o.jpg

There is a liner inside of the Surcoat, its obn all 4 sides

So when you sew the bottom 4 panels on, do not forget to add this black cotton/linen or whatnot. I did a linen after first doing Cotton (it was thicker)
