  1. Oh my... Thats just....temping.... *adds to Todo list* *Stops Hijacking your thread* Again Huge welcome! *scurries away to sew more things*
  2. *** I have moved the Home made CRL See above***
  3. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am in the process of writing my (personal and FAKE) CRL for the costume right now. Just lays out and tells me exactly what I need to do it. I will post it this afternoon. I am so excited to do this costume!!
  4. COMPLETE IMAGE See more @ Page 7 I would like to personally thank everyone for their help, I could honestly have not done it without the help from the Flagship eclipse, you guys strive for excellence and it shows. Thank you for pushing my limits further, I am a better costumer because of the help from the members (all of the members) judges, and mentors. CANON IMAGES IN GAME RENDER MOVIE 1080p Cinematic : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq6H32ssn0c MY CRL GUIDELINES Alright theres what I got. If anyone would so kindly let me know if I have ANYTHING off? I mean anything. Nit pick it. I want to do it right. We all miss things. I want to be Very Clear Here This is NOT the 501sts CRL. I WROTE THIS Its not nearly as well written as the 501st would do, this is more for my reference. CORRECTIONS TO MY CRL Skirt Correction 1 piece in front 2 pieces on sides wrapping around back and slit down the center 4 tabard end pieces hanging just past skirt (Review these movies) Ok so I just watched the video another 5 times and played back some sections 20+ times. I am about to start on this costume, I am going to do the parts I am SURE about. Things I think I am sure on Skirt Mid Calf length 3 Pieces Splits down the back and sides Front has a single panel At 2m50s (1080p) you can see the skirt split really well in the back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq6H32ssn0c Heres gameplay of the costume: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33pUssFaEwg Shoulder Bells Correction 1. You can see they are not quite shoulder bells. they are in fact a second set of armor. You can see in the high res images of the top of the armor swooping across the neck at the base of the neck
  5. Huge hello and welcome! Good sir Darth Tagion, you say a Darth Marr?! You mean to tell me no one has done this costume (it IS a costume that COULD potentially be canon approvable) and it would be a Legion 1st? Now that is an impressive costume.....*really temped to do it* Ah... I want to make a Revan so bad, but we have an amazing Revan in our Garrison (I know that shouldnt stop me)
  6. Hello! I see you are doing the same costume I just built a few weeks ago! If you need any help or advice please mail me!! I have NO secrets, I can tell you how I did my entire costume top to bottom if your stuck on anything! I will be putting together a tutorial soon on my costume (I only sent it in to be approved a couple days ago) but I built it all myself. (and on the armor, once out of foam and once out of aluminum) I have a "Completed" WIP on these forums as well Have a great one!!
  7. Morning: Thank you m'Lord for your help. I HATE my boot armor. Its tacky looking. (specifically the silver) I have to fiddle with it to much. I think ill make it this afternoon out of aluminum instead. It sound like am AMAZING idea to do that (and/or something else). Thank you! I will be buying Centra or wonderflex soon (I am making a Revan VERY soon) So I WILL be buying the product. I am on the fence about which one You guys are awesome! I already got my my mail from my local GML (on Friday. but I was trooping @ legoland all weekend.... I hung out with a Pre-Armor Ani the entire day, was the best day ever! All the patrons loved seeing the Amidala/Anikin Pair haha, but thats a different story for different places) My GML said to turn in an application and send larger Rez files I met sooo many Amazing 501sters this weekend! I had an amazing time. Our RL Garrison and our 501st Garrison get along super well, so everyone plays so well together. Evening UPDATE: Thank you again Lord Vader, you inspired me to redo ALL my armor. Since my GML was calling for giant Rez photos it gave me a great chance to redo the entire thing! I replaced ALL of the foam with aluminum. (including the boots) Whatcha think? I love my husband, but for some reason he doesn't line my costume up correctly the way it should be...... So I had it get in there and do the setup exactly how it should look myself. I feel like the pictures I sent my GML are junk.. so I hope that someone looks here and sees these to know IF The costume has a proper Wrangler this is how the back will look on me. I dont know how many times i told him, the leather piece hanging off my arm is LOWER than the metal armor..
  8. Thank you so much Lord Vader (Jeff)! Heres the costume on me now (I took these this afternoon), It looks "right" to me, but I am the "artist" so I might be missing something very needed. Update: I turned in my images to my local Garrison
  9. Thank you for the advice. The armor now practically stands up on its own! haha. I lined the inside with aluminum strips and gave it a contour to my body, wow it looks sooo much better (on me) It grips to my body and lays like it should! I will post pics tomorrow and turn in my images to my local Garrison!
  10. Thank you so much for the feedback!! Funny enough I noticed that yesterday with the shoulder bells (they just plain looked awful (and flat). I tightened the chest armor as well. Ill post pics for ya tomorrow to see! Can I PM you an ask your op on them when I post? Im going to go take a heat gun to it to, thatll really set it in, your right.
  11. WOW What a beautiful costume, but detours to far from the Jedi look I am personally looking for I did some more reserach on Ajunta Pall last night, there is some books I need to locate. Maybe someone has one of these books and can find him for me in them??? This is him after exile when banished http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ajunta_P ... t_egtf.jpg Its full body enough to make a costume, since you can see the boots?? Or do I need 2 more?? INCLUDING Back? Will any of these books NOT work as ref for making him?? ANYONE have these books and can find Pall for me?? ā†‘ Book of Sith -I own this and have that ref ā†‘ Endnotes for Star Wars: Book of Sith (part 1) ā†‘ Star Wars: The Old Republic ā†‘ 5.0 5.1 5.2 Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force ā†‘ Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide ā†‘ Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords ā†‘ The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia ALso this picture of Pall that id found in my book appears to be the original? You can see his full outfit in this. Its a LOT clearer http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ajunta_P ... di-BoS.jpg
  12. Found this Gem of a costume at the end of the "Sith Book" Ive been reading It says he is an "Inquisitor"
  13. Well that is great to hear! *digs around more* Here is another pic of Pall Hoping to find a full body
  14. Im starting to see this more clearly! Thank you. you have just answered a couple of questions I have had. I DO have names! From a LFL source "Book of Sith" The 12 Dark Jedi (Names I can find) Ajunta Pall Marchioness XoXan Baron Dreypa Karness Murr Sorzus Syn Xendor Book was Published April 6th 2013 Daniel Wallace (the starwars chronicler) Hes a GREAT writer, does a lot of the LFL books/novels/novels The character I would personally be most interested in building is Ajunta Pall or Xendor (image caption on page 13) The question is, are these images clear enough "Full body" to count? The book clearly names and states who is who in the captions
  15. I LOVE it,he looks fantastic!! Got ya, and yep the references I have are LFL. =) SWTOR and The Book of the Sith are the refrences I have (or have leads to) thus far I am familiar with the clubs, great folks, but if I can find "3 references" OR 1 turn around "IN GAME" of a "person wearing Jedi Robes with a Black Lightsaber" and it fits within EU. It would be EU approved right?? Or is that ONLY a Rebel Legion rule? It has to be the EXACT same costume as well right?? Not "guy in ALMOST the same Jedi robes" as the three other refs I am trying to be as clear as possible, I just like to learn as much as I can and not get mixed up. Thank you! These are from Book of the Sith Also when you say LFL approved characters Does Ajunta Pall (the person depicted in the pictures above) count as a appropriable Flagship character?
  16. HELLO!! I took a risk and bought the one off Etsy. (holocron think is the guys name) i mailed the guy first and he assured me he would have it by the date I wanted it, (it arrived 2 weeks early) I own 3 other sabers and I am FAR from an expert, but it looks decent and out the door I paid 120.00. I ordered the blade around Early May and I got it a week ago now? Was like a 3 week turn around. I told him I wanted it by June 15th Its soooo CLOSE to what I want, but if I really wanted it to look exactly like the game, this is a great start I feel. I think I can make it look identical to the game for 10$ or less. I figure even IF I break this thing (works great BTW) Id still be happy for that low of cost I bought a blade from Ultrasabers a Clip and wheel, and I am set (was 15.00 +shipping) The funny part is.. I ordered my Clip, a Saber and the Wheel from Ultrasabers (great work they do there) the SAME day I ordered my Starkiller, and the Starkiller came first haha
  17. Lol I just posted this same question (kinda) about a Generic "Dark Jedi" basically a Dark Chocolate/Black sith robe with a Red Lightsaber. Theres a lot of reference for them, I popped open my Book of the Sith last night and there must be 5 images of em. I hear there is some in SWTOR, but Ive been looking for a number of hours now for the character to get a turn around. Hope to hear some more info on this someday being approved!
  18. I dont even know if this is in the right place, please move tis board or tell me where to put it if its not Dark Jedi Where do these guys fall? Ive just poped open my lovely Book of the Sith (Ive been searching for as many refs of these guys as i can for a month now) and BAM theres a ton more images of what I have been seeking. In a nut shell its a Jedi Robe (Blacks and Chocolate) with a RED Lightsaber. I am NOT a member of the 501st (yet) I have just completed my costume today, but now I want to know. Is there any reason why someone cant do a Black/Dark Brown Jedi costume with a red saber (thats NOT Anakin)? I would be FINE with being the Guinea pig, being the person with the overly picked at costume. I sew because I like the challenge not mediocrity! Heres what I speak of... Wikipedia "Dark Jedi, also known as "Fallen" Jedi, were Force-sensitives, frequently former Jedi, who chose to deny the light side of the Force and/or follow the dark side. Although "Dark Jedi" originally referred to a Jedi who had fallen to the dark side, it could also refer to uninitiated Force-sensitives who received no Jedi training but began their careers under another Dark Jedi. " Images http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Jed ... r_TotG.jpg http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Jed ... _Burst.jpg http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Jedi I know "Dark Jedi" Is a term used for a number of Sith (and a number of EU Costumes already approved) What I am mainly asking about is the costume as a "whole" not a specific character, like Starkiller or Revan (both considered dark jedi) "A person in Dark Jedi attire with a Red Lightsaber" Is what I want I would LOVE to do Thank you for ANY help!
  19. WARNING TO THE FOLLOWING PHOTOS **these are NOT the images I am turning in*** WHY: They are mostly action shots and my backyard is a terrible backdrop of not awesome. I did these today to.... 1. Show you guys to see if you have ANY advice on the costume 2. Show myself to find any issues (found some) And without further ado....... ....and Oh my Sith... my husband put my Darn BELT ON BACKWARDS AGAIN, its ANGLED TO THE LEFT NOT TO THE RIGHT!!!!.......Seriously... -.- I want to thank EVERYONE here for their continued help, you all are a blessing. I am so glad you all are so nice in helping this N00b! Ive contacted my local garrison forums, Ive got the email to my GML, I will be submitting tomorrow or Tues Ill show you all (or many) of the pics I send in! Just in case anyone wanted to know why I am not submitting these images (besides the BG) My Critique -My foot covers are not working like I want them to. they are bunching to much. I want them to lay flatter -I am going to attach the RED arm band into my arm pit instead of around my arm, this will keep it stable and where it should be, Its moving around to much and not to my contour. Anyone see anything else wrong?
  20. Thank you so much for this information! Also I am done! I am going to a nice industrial building area (in medium light, its kinda hazy today thank goodness) so we can get good shots I have a Fuji X100s. Against a White Concrete Wall, then take some action shots in some slightly more "busy" Backgrounds I was going to do side by side comparisons with the original concept art when submitting Oi I hear you on the NOT being approved 1st time, I expect it in fact. With my senatorial costume for the RL they had me moving clasps up and down 1.5 inches LOL. Nothing short of "Start again" is going to get me down haha. The level of costuming required is intense. I want that. You don't make jokes about joining the 501st and show up in subpar costuming. I am "Southern California Garison" area. I contacted them 2 weeks ago now (asking about me making Revan). I think I will write again? I asked a couple of locals at an event I was at and they advised me to do the same and gave me the name of my local GML etc. I hate bugging people. I know this is all volunteer. i think at this point though the mails been literally missed! *writes down all poses etc* My husband can get lazy while taking photos, he doesn't understand its possibly the most important part to this and he skims, doesn't line up my costume EXACTLY like the reference shots from the original (i even go as far as to print up the original ref). He did both my costumes photos for the RL , and while he did a good job, I still had to show him both times when I got the photos just what was wrong. When he did my Jedi adventures Robe, The darn belt was tied on the wrong side!!! I was like.. come on you have 20 ref images!!? and your LINING UP my body with the red images and you didnt notice??! lol. XD That costume takes FOREVER to put on.... BELT WIP (to show all the darn buckles!) I REALLY hope I got em all.....
  21. Thank you so much! In reading over the costuming standards pertaining to the second skirt it says you can "tack it in" to keep it from moving around. So thats what I did. I built it as a "second skirt" then I have attached it to the over skirt. I sewed a small section at the top and bottom. It seems to be keeping it in and not moving back and fourth Ill take a photo and show ya! Thank you! I should be finished with it today. I did the finsihing on the chest armor and im almost done with the boot covers. All I have left to start and do is the belt (assuming this only takes a few hours to do the belt) Can someone offer me any advice on submitting my photos?? Also can someone link me to the info on the steps to being approved? As soon as I am done (and before pics) I will go searching for this info but if anyone has any tips its most appreciated!
  22. Rob does such stunning armor! Truly a masterpiece, you look great! keep it up!
  23. I am back! With an ever so TINY update. I trooped with the RL last Sat and was able to talk to a number of very helpful 501st'ers, I went home and talked to my husband, he now wants to do a Vader. I have started ordering parts (the take forever ones, on the direction of the Darth Detachment) But while we wait (a year) for his Vader to come in I will sew HIM a Revan and I will be doing the SWTOR version for MYSELF. Since I already have (now 3) costumes I would just like to get him one done to get him trooping.. he is a big guy. Tall, big, just in every way. I did some photoshop comps of him in 4 costumes I picked out for him that I could sew and he chose Revan *whom he adores anyways* So really long story short, after I finish my Starkiller Sith Robes (which should be sometime this week) **I have a WIP up on the Starkiller boards** I am going to start on HIS (now) Revan costume. I will be using this as progress just like how I was going to use it for mine. I hope thats ok? Cant wait to get started!!
  24. Hello! Is THIS the costume youve posted?? Sorry if not your pics are really tiny! viewtopic.php?f=73&t=2403
