  1. Sloppy looking images sorry, didnt adjust things to well here.... and I ran out of fixative (buys more) TO DO __ Finish chest armor (glue it) and affix hooks for cloak __ Finish shoulder pads/armor __ Make boot covers __ Make Belt __ Hem skirt and cloak __ Finishing work (remove touches of glue and thread) OTHER x Wait for gloves to arrive..... __ Take photos
  2. Thank you so much Alan! This of costume is a blast to sew! Its a lot of pieces I have always enjoyed making throughout the years (cloaks and "doublets": form fitting chest pieces etc) SO funny you should say that, my and the hubby were just cracking that joke last night. Now I have an Altair (Jedi Adventure Robes) and a Etzio
  3. The material is quite literally propped up on here for the cloak. Its not even pinned, ive tacked it under the armor If anyone starts to see any glaring issues please feel free to start yelling. I feel like my armor on my chest is a touch low, when i start working on the main leather portion, I think that will solve the issue but in comparison its to low to what it should be
  4. Finally got started last night, heres my progress. Still need to cut the back of the skirt to the correct length and make the Obi do what I want it to do. Thank you! Totally agree. Theres so many variables on top of that! TV screens, Comp Screens, Printed colors to factor in. Especially on a costume thats not "real" I find it a larger challenge in that sense. Then on the In-game models you have to factor in 3d Lighting (which is as far from natural as you can get) Thank gosh most this costume is black!
  5. I know this is SO old... but this is also for ANYONE who is looking to MAKE this costume and pops in and see this thread. Before you "think" about buying this costume, or want to start one. Please feel free to Mail me Anytime. I am ALWAYS here to help, specifically on this little beauty of a costume. I have researched the wowza out of it and would assist with the creation or advice or opinions (and even materials) on construction of the Jedi Adventure Robes This is my WIP I did when making: It has the full details of the little dirty marks on his hood right down to the faaar to many buckles on the shoe covers haha: http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewto ... c&start=15 IF you want my opinion on what I think of this costume youve posted (but I am sure its not UFS anymore) MAIL ME. Ill give you my full 100% and far to detailed reasons about this costume youve posted. Though undoubtedly seeing mine and seeing the one youve posted there is Huge differences. Also you might note this is a Rebel Legion Approved Costume Not Flagship/501st. I know I am NO WHERE near the end all be all to costuming a Galen Marek. But I am always here to help anyone anytime. :)Have a wonderful day! May the force be with you
  6. As stated above about the poses. Just to add to that, what I do is I literally line up the Original images and side by side compare them in Photoshop. i also take screenshots of the characters and do the exact pose side by side compare If you want to see what I mean heres an example of what I mean This is one I did when I turned in my Starkiller (Galen Marek) robes for the Rebel Legion These are great to do because it shows the intricate details of what you accomplished in comparison to the "real" image With that said, this is one of my top 5 favorite Starkiller costumes youve done, and if I was a man (and shaved head) I would try and pull it off.
  7. Ok so I want to do FAR to many costumes. With that said I also want to jump in and join the 501st! So I am going to start with the "easiest" (for me) to do I want to make: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming ... er_concept * The above image appears to be concept art but its a "good" turn around and VERY close to the in-game colors I have bought a pile of material. Anyone see any glaring color issues? I feel like maybe the vest color is a touch on the "not" DARK Charcoal side.. Anyone made this costume and know what they bought?? Hancock Fabrics had this one and I felt like it was perfect. Its super shiny IRL and it seems tp be the warm Charcoal Black color, but just not dark enough maybe?
  8. Thank you! Great to hear about the Burgundy (and sorry to hear its happened to everyones costume) I was concerned I would have to "make" those wrinkles. I noticed every single persons WIP had them. But I also noticed that 90+% of peoples costumes seemed to be made by someone else (all look extremely uniform) thank you for that information. I will boldly go where few have traveled and use the reference materials provided instead of already made costumes I keep staring at (they are absolutly stunning btw), and make it look just like the 3D model. I should be able to do a hidden stitch to keep the material in place after possibly Ironing the whole thing down in place (its how I make my Obis)
  9. Thank you so much! Me as well, I went away (and will be away) for the remainder of the weekend. I went to the Disneyland 24 our event, now on my way to Palm Springs! See you guys after Memorial day, have a great holiday all!!
  10. Thank you soo much Alan for your continued help! Ive just contacted my local Garrison (So. Cal) I have full intent upon wanting to join the 501st anyways, so I am happy to do just the traditional (KOTOR) Revan first. I am pretty confident that I can form a solid argument for Redeemed Revan to be Canon for RL. I JUST NEED 2.2 TO HURRY UP! (and get here haha) I am very concerned the costume will change a ton. So I dont want to waste my time (and money) on things that will change in a month (or less at this point) =) ...and then the question remains.... when I make the SWTOR Revan, IF the RL 100% denies it and calls it Informal. Would that push for the 501st to Cannonize it? .... ... .. One groups got to take him... no?
  11. More Questions (Again........) Do I have to make the caplet like the one in the example?? Reason: The caplet on Revan in KOTOR looks wrinkled and gathered (I like that look) and the example is 3 perfect draping pieces of fabric. (visually it looks much cleaner line than the game) The REQs dont call for a caplet with 3 tiers. But I still wanted to double check before deterring from the costume image. Thank you so much!! I dont know why I didnt put my ruler next to it... I have updated the image. They are 1.25 I believe? Lightsaber: Ok so here is what I did.. and let me know if this is NOT allowed I bought 2 sabers from ultrasabers red and 1 purple, I bought the most basic models (silver) and I was going to do the gold/brass look myself on my husbands machines to get it as CLOSE as I can. (I did NOT order the SWTOR version, again afraid they will change something in 2.2) If the costumer is portraying Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, then two lightsabers are carried. If the lightsabers are bladed, one blade is red, and the other is purple. The hilt midsection is silver, with the emitter head and back pommel sections showing gold or brass in color.
  12. DarthBrute hahaha... more true words could not be spoken. Thanks btw! Just wanted to make sure there wasn't any Glaring issues. I can miss things at times

    Revan - SW: TOR

I will be keeping a close eye out as well, and providing I am not in the middle of another costume I will start that day. I had really wanted to get started on a SWTOR Revan immediately when we were having that conversation over at RL. (just to be the Guenna pig and try and get it approved as formal) But then someone posted that and Ive now decided that just making "Traditional Revan" a much smarter choice at this time. ( I want to join the 501st anyways) Frankly I am not happy with his current look. -To me he looks to much like a WOW character (i love wow dont get me wrong) -His double cape is a glitch and super tacky looking
  14. Question ( sorry I know I have a lot of them) Is this how the costume should fall upon my body? Thank you for ANY help
  15. Question for you guys about some hooks. The hook on the bottom is to oval for the armor? UPDATE: I have purchased almost everything (including lightsaber) Still missing the...black material.. ha! Question: On traditional Revan, is there a reason why everyones burgundy front is wrinkly? (Horizontally not Vertical) I would be happy to have that conversation with Muppet and any others who would want in on it. I'm in full support of him as a bad guy. He's flippin' nuts. Thank you so much! Heres what I had my hubby do. I hope this was alright... I used your guys screenshots from KOTOR and made my own SWTOR version to show the difference http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v421/ ... g~original
  16. Thats so funny Pam! Small world. Unruh is a very rare name to find ( was my maiden as well) I noticed that slight sheen. I was concerned about using Linen for that reason. Wonder if its a Cotton Blend? I love Linen, its so natural feeling Thats exactly what I was hoping to hear! I haven't the foggiest on how to go about doing Fiberglass! (one thing I would love to get into someday.) But I want to stick to a substrate I think I can easily transition to. Thanks for the information about the traditional (original) version. He is amazing as well. I agree though. he is kind of a good guy
  17. Hi! Im Dawn, I'm an active member of the Rebel Legion. I have been sewing for many years and always wanted to attempt something with armor. With that said I want to get started on a Darth Revan ASAP. I would like to have it in working order (if not DREAM of even having it approved) by Comic Con San Diego (Mid July) Heres some of my work: http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewto ... 123#595123 http://queenamidalasabe.blogspot.com/ Heres my art http://www.realuglydrawings.com Heres my Sculpting https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =1&theater Lots of Questions Here I go... !! THANK YOU ETERNALLY FOR ANY REPLIES !! 1. Is the SWTOR Version of Revan even approval through you guys?? He is (technically) a good guy in the Foundry? 2. Sintra or Wonderflex? Either or both are appropriable for 501st to make armor with? Anyone recommend one over the other? 3. I know I haven't even started, but is there anything I should really pay attention to? Ive researched a couple of hangups on the forums, Ive noticed the hooks on the chest plate recommendations from Tandy, but no size is noted?) Id love to be specific on anything you guys thing i need to know and get it right. 4. Black Linen (or very linen like) is alright for the soft parts? 5. Do I need to contact someone with my intent to make this costume? (IE: My local Garison?) So excited to get started!! Annnnd GO! Ive got my finger on the buy it now button for Wonderflex, but id LOVE your opinions!! PS- I am 100% ok with making a "Traditional" Revan as well (and might do it). Just wanted to know if the foundry Revan is ok. ***** 5/21/13 UPDATE- After much research. I AM going to do BOTH Revans: I have only one issue.... the Revan as he stands in SWTOR is Not Cannon (Bioware has stated) They will update him in 2.2 which is coming up in a month Lets cross our fingers for ONE of the groupd (RL or 501st) to approve the SWTOR version when 2.2 comes out *****

    Revan - SW: TOR

I know this is a touch late on this convo, but we have been having quite the debate about this costume over at he Rebel Legion, I brought up some very strong points about him being more Jedi than Sith. But thats a debate I am not here for. What I am here for is a comment made on the page from the feedback I got one of the comments made was that this costume that you see here was noted by the staff at Bioware that this outfit is not canon yet and that they will update it in 2.2 (which is a month from now) The day that happens I will be starting on that armor with 360 turn arounds in hand. Be noted Bioware also stated that they are changing the Revan armor for ingame characters as well, not leaving an old set. heres the quote Link: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthre ... dit6265831
  19. Funny enough i had found an image of the temple guard as well. i was left drooling. If i wasnt 90% done with my jedi adventure robe and have such a strong desire to join the 501st id be started on that! Question. Do you have to have your 1st costume approved for the 501st be a non EU? Also thank you for everyones help! Im very torn between Revan Sith Acolyte Nihilus All amazing. Im debating not being a wuss and attempting armor haha. You guys are a plethora of useful information and tutorials!
  20. Thank you sooo much for the kind welcome! I adore the look of Darth Nihilus as well as Revan. They might be my only way to go for the look I desire. Should I contact my local garison and ask if there is a greater need for either?? Or does it not matter? Again thank you! Edit: Yes you are right... ahh amazing. I think youve sold me on em! I had looked at him as an option. But now that you mention him, looking at his robes up close this might be the perfect answer.
  21. Hello!! I might be able to help you on this if you still need the help. I am in the process of making this costume and ill tell you its a doozy. Heres what I did. The hood is a white..its dirty white (and its dirty( i made it the same material as the shirt. Ive got dozens of ref images as well as a breakdown on my WIP. I will also be rewriting the standards as some things are not clear Heres my WIP If you have ANY questions mail me Ive spent the better part of 15 hours just LOOKING at the way its built Ps- This costume is called "Jedi Adventure Robe" http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47613
  22. Short of sounding like a fool amongst you awesome people, I will just say what id like to do. First I will explain why I want to do the following and maybe someone can guide me in the right direction based on what i like. I want to get this costume right and something that I really like. 1. I like "Jedi robes" and 2. I like masks (acolyte mask is amazing) Based on that info, is there any character type that fits?? I am having a heck of a time finding anything. It is even possible???? (basically an acolyte without the typical armor you see) I don't even know if I have come to the right forum... sorry. Any help is so appreciated! *newb newb* Thanks! Dawn
