Haha no no sir I do not. Just a good argument for a number of the Sith Apprentices now in the DS category is all ^.-
"Darth Bane Path of Destruction" one of the instructors said "The Darth title was more than just a symbol of power; it was a claim of supremacy. It was used by those Dark Lords who have sought to enforce their will on the other Masters. It was a challenge — a warning to bow down or be destroyed."So I just learned a LOT about Sith Lords, Darths and what not.
I keep coming to the same conclusion.
A sith apprentice is also a Lord and a sith Lord is also a darth?
Am I missing something? ?

I know what you mean about us arguing over the costumes we own. (I am doing it ) =)
But really its because we are the "experts" ( I guess you could say) in them. The reason why we choose these costumes is (usually) for the back-story and the way we feel about these particular characters. Also yeah, it personally affects us. While all of us are honing in on what or who we could potentially get back I think those of us arguing over the fate of these characters agree that we would like to see them all returned. ^.-
Some are much more arguable than others. Such as why I think you have say..more of some particular characters arguing than others over the detachment designation. I feel as though with a few of these characters we have a fairly strong argument for why he in particular person should not have been removed from the designation.
I am being honest here, I just dont know enough about a number of the characters being asked or argued about Also I wouldn't feel comfortable arguing for them because of that.
Where as say myself for example on Starkiller I can tell you just about anything about him, and with say another character I just don't know enough about the intricate backstory
Thank you so much Thomas, we love your hard work!

** However... Although Non-canon, the "Sith stalker Armor" is an accepted costume within the legion and is referred to as "Lord" within this alternate ending, so I would support that it falls under "SL" and will be happy to take this info back to the rest of the team.
Here is a Starkiller costume that I own thats approved (its from FU2 ending)
I am still confused as to why Darth Maul is a SL.
He is an apprentice no?
To quote
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Maul
the infant Maul was given by his Nightsister mother to the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, who trained him in the ways of the dark side of the Force as his secret apprentice on a secret Mustafar training facility, along with the help of a split personality droid. Maul became a master of Juyo, Jar'Kai, and Teräs Käsi, with training in Niman, and chose to wield a red-bladed saberstaff in combat. Though well trained in the ways of the Sith and a Sith assassin rather than a full apprentice, Maul was technically a violation of the Rule of Two because his own Master was at the time apprenticed to another, the Muun Sith Lord Darth Plagueis. Plagueis however, was fully aware of Maul's existence, and supported Sidious's decision to train him. The primary reason for Plagueis's support, despite the violation of the Rule of Two...I feel like i could change that Entire sentience i just pulled that from (the wiki) to Starkiller as the story is identical
I just edited the above ^
"the young Galen was taken as a child by Darth Vader, who trained him in the ways of the dark side of the Force as his secret apprentice in a secret facility, along with the help of a droid. Starkiller became a master of many forms of combat through his brutal training from Lord Vader. Though well trained in the ways of the Sith and a Sith assassin rather than a full apprentice, Starkiller was technically a violation of the Rule of Two because his own Master was at the time apprenticed to another, Darth Sidious. Sidious however, was fully aware of Starkillers existence, and tried to manipulate vader. The primary reason for Sidious, despite the violation of the Rule of Two...See a lot of similarities eh?

Why are SWTOR Acolytes listed as Sith Lords?
-
Again thank you so much sir for the hard work, time and dedication you have put fourth to this effort. I hope that they can reach a decision on this subject matter.
-
NICE! Cant wait to see more!
-
I want to see you make that! Thats an awesome costume!!
To literally parrot what Mr. Thomas said its ...
"reference first and always, the CRL is secondary"
If there is No CRL standards and there is a full good front and back and it is for sure a character (canon: not a non-canon variant) in the Starwars Universe than there is no reason that is shouldn't be good for submission to either the 501st or the Rebel Legion.
I get this question a lot from many many many Rebels. They "want" a CRL. I tell them to write one! ^.^ There are hundreds if not thousands of costumes in the Starwars Universe that have yet to be made. Personally for me I have a great time finding and thus making "Legion 1sts" basically "costumes that do not have a CRL and have Never been made" (I personally find it a thrilling challenge) I have made them for both the Rebel Legion and the 501st now So take it from me, even if it hasn't been done, that shouldn't stop you! But before hand definitely find out if the costume is eligible for submission! (in very rare occasions a costume is not) ^.-
Also 100% agree, ignore the CRL. In some cases you'll actually do a better job than the CRL states and you MIGHT find a mistake or two and can aide in changing said mistake! ^.- I myself found mistakes between two of the costumes I made.
If you want to see how I went about doing a Legion 1st (or a costume with no CRL). Heres my newest Legion 1st WIP. I ALWAYS recommend a WIP (no matter what, but a WIP is extra important for a little/never/rarely made costume)
http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=53509
I hope this helps you (or anyone who reads it) Just take a lot of time to research and youll be alright! ^.^
-
Done sir!
Thank you so much! Let us know what you find out further!
-
I am only concerned (not angry btw) for the same reasons Mr. Thomas has brought up. While really its small beans cash wise I have a license place, license plate holder, trading cards and now my legion ID all with
SL-13377
Also as a SL what was/is really nice is I was granted full access to the Sith Lord forums. Will that stop now that I am DS? I doubt they will go back and delete me but I wonder who this will affect after me.
I do like it. Its just a touch shocking to see that on the front page.
So.... who's making the detachment forums for the whopping 100 members haha
Thank you so much for all the information you've given us thus far sir! ^.^
-
Yeah I scoured the forums as well! What the hey?!
Why is Starkiller under DS (He is an Apprentice Sith)
Why is Darth Maul under SL?! (He is an Apprentice Sith)
Why are Sith Acolytes SL (They are Apprentice Siths)
Why is Visas Marr under DS?! (She is an apprentice Sith)
I am totally confused as to what happened O.o!

EDIT: This conversation is for the discussion of the renaming (re-designation) for a number of EU Character costumes for the 501st.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE: I must have missed something that went on here some time ago.
Can someone explain why there is a group now called
"DS Dark Side"?
http://www.501st.com/members/costumeros ... agoryID=27
and Why are Apprentice Sith lords listed in the DS section? Visa versa why are there Apprentice sith lords listed on the Sith Lord section as well?
When did this happen?
I am asking here because it appears to be Apprentice EU sith Lords listed on the DS section and movie apprentices listed on the SL section O.o
Thanks!
-
I would make that costume in a heart beat if we could prove that one to be valid for submission... its so lovely. I wish i had more photos
-
From what few pictures you have it looks really good! I wish that I could see larger images, I may be missing something but it looks fantastic over all!
My own Starkiller Sith Robes were just approved a few months ago. You are on the right track!
If you would like a crit/nit pick that I am not even entirely sure is valid.
1. DO you happen to have a photo of the back of the costume (no robe)?
2. Can you show us a top to bottom view (whole body) from the front?
Why I ask is because in your top left image it appears as though your red lined black skirt is really close together. If you look at the reference the skirt is not closed at the top , giving room for the Grey underskirt
-
Thankyou soo much! Please do NOT hesitate to ask if you need any info on this costume. While I do not persay use patterns I can help with construction on any of it!! I wish you well on your build and may the force be with you!
-
Yep! I am missing those lines! As with all things with each costume I learn as I go along. I need a professional way to add those lines. Does anyone have any ideas of how to do this? ANY advice appreciated. ^.-
I have paint the exact identical color of the leather (which is actually a shiny bronze) So whatever I add to it I can paint over it to look identical
Thanks! Being as though I made the straps I can make em again! (and/or beat the holy living dog sniff out of em, which is fine as well) I feel like (hope) if i move em around enough ill get the identical look...dear gosh who knows though! I have been wrong before! ^.-
Thats just part of making a costume like this though...
if you dont have to remake it 6x your not doing it right!
I am just thankful to have you guys! =)
-
Thank you! I think it looks horrid! Ahhh Artists eye.
Dear gosh this Revan is a lot of work! Tons of fun though! Didn't get any progress in this weekend was trooping all weekend x.x Back at it this evening!
-
Finially got to troop in it! Was waiting for a Con! ^.-
My buddy Cory helped me out by being the ever amazing Vader
Thank you so much everyone for helping me!! *hugs*

I understand that THIS version of Revan is very very Rebel.
But you are the EU guys..and you are the Revan guys, so with that said I would love some input on my Revan Redeemed costume I am currently in the process of working on.
***This costume has not been attempted or approved via the Rebel Legion***
I will make updates as I progress, and changes as you guys see fit.
