  1. Rob, the guy that makes the Revan armor made the helmet for me.
  2. The book is official licensed so it should be considered as good a source as any.
  3. the costume also appears in the art and making of the force unleashed as mentioned earlier. So that is four sources.
  4. If I wear lycra or spandex shirt it will cover all my well tone and painstakingly developed muscle definition If you look at the GG bust his skin is a sickly green or olive color so I will most likely use paint to cover my arms, plus the right forearm will be covered by mechanical arm. My original plan, when I was brainstorming, was to actually build a latex muscle suit (arms and chest) that would be slightly bigger than me, then build the mechanical arm to fit my arm, that way it would look slightly smaller than my biceps etc. I decided not to go that way just because it would make the costume 300 times more uncomfortable and it would also become as hot as hell (this I know from my predator costume)
  5. Just tackled the Upper Vest with some help from my garrison buddy. Hopefully getting the torso straps/belt/armor done this weekend along with the back corset esk piece. I'm going to redo the neckseal 'cause the plastic is too rigid and hurts like hell and I need to elongate the front. I'm still working on how to make the cyborg arm and hand. I have the lower flange from a grievous arm but need to figure out how to make the hand mechanical. If anyone has any ideas let me know.
  6. here's the photobucket link to all the pics I have, the quality is poor to say the least since these were pictures actually taken during game play. But it's all I got http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g103/ ... s/?start=0
  7. Thanks Thomas, I have already trashed the idea of the concept art version, mostly because it is conceptual and have decided to attempt the game rendered version of the Sith Stalker. I tend to like concept art better, but it will only cause frustration in the end me thinks. Seeing is this will be the last Star Wars costume I am going to build I really want it to be approved but if my skills fall short and I am unable to build the perfect recreation of a character made up of pixels so be it. This is bar none the hardest project and most expensive (not including my Predator) I have ever undertaken and I am not even the one building the hard parts. My wife (ms-ventress) and I were in the leather store with all my reference pics laid out on a table and a slew of black straps trying to figure out his back rigging system and after drawing it out several times, talking with leather store dude, pulling upon our years of costume building experience, all Erin had to say was "Boys Costumes are stupid" and I just nodded my head.
  8. This is my break down using the art of reference image: Hard Parts -Training Outfit shoulder/collar piece -Right arm three layered armor piece just below shoulder -Rib armor 6 strips upward slop (reverse ribs) -Right arm prosthetic -Left fingers have blades (like finger tip rings) -Helmet Soft Parts: Now the belts are a bit more difficult so I am counting from the bottom of the rib armor -14 leather strips over another piece of softer leather (like many Maul belts) and then criss crossed -black vest -Nihilus like skirt -some kind of braid coming from the back of the helmet. -As for the back who knows? Remember this is a break down of below picture, there are at least two other versions (Video Game, GG Bust, Toy). I chose this one because I really like the look.
  9. So other than the GG these are all I can find. Anyone else have any screen caps of the Sith Stalker or pictures while using the character during the game Link to the busts http://www.shopafx.com/stwaexfounmi.html
  10. wow, this is one of the best apprentice costumes I've seen. Good attention to color detail, and weathering. The lightsaber looks spot on, great job!
  11. sorry about the quality of the picture So white ish vest, and no red lining or grey under kama Sakara you and my wife are in agreement. With the overall look of the promo shots. I'm more prone to the dark no lining, but time will tell.
  12. If I could grab a screenshot from the game (xbox 360), we'd see that he doesn't even have a red lining or the grey under kama, and his vest thing is silver/grey rather than black. So which version to do I guess is the real question.
  13. It also seems that the red inner lining is not very shiny, so maybe satin is not the way to go. Let me know
  14. I pretty excited to see what you end up with. But basing on you Kota costume I'm gonna presume that it's gonna kick butt. I retired my malak after figuring that the chin and neck piece were beyond my skill. I look forward to watching your progress
  15. After completing the game a few times and unlocking some costumes, I realized the two costumes that I wish to pursue. The first and coolest IMO is the Sith Seeker costume. I saw some pics of a guy (manny I believe) who has this costume and it looks awesome. UNfortunately with my lack of skill in sculpting I'll need to resort to my second option, unless someone is making helmet and chest armor kits. The sith robes outfit... (Best pic I could find) I saw this costume made in a earlier Starkiller post and read the costume break down. The only discrepancy is that in the game his Vader like torso or shirt looks off white or even silverish. His belt seems almost Maul like with one less strip of leather and the clasps in the front. The costume made for Celebration Europe has just a Vader black. His pants and long sleeve shirt seem skin tight like a dancing outfit. If someone has any High Res shots of this costume from the game that they could post up I would be very grateful. Any input or advice is also appreciated. Thanks Greg
  16. Well it's been over a year now and I made no progress on the Malak front. I remade the belt so it fits tighter, but my collar problem is still an issue. I don't really think there is a way to make it properly out of a firm material. After wearing my predator costume I did however have an epiphany. Why not mold the collar out of latex? Once it is done up it will be sturdy enough to appear firm. What do you guys think? Unfortunately after I fixed up the chest pieces I stepped on it whilst packing for a move. It seems like the costuming gods never want me to get this one finished.
  17. Malak broke in transit from Edmonton to SDCC so I wasn't even able to wear it. I could have used some glue, but snaps ripped right out as well, which surprised me because of how thick the material is. I only had my Quinlan Vos and Damage (Atom Smasher ,JSA) costumes in reserve.
  18. Well if you know you can't beat someone face to face, you shoot a really big gun at them from a distance while they're not looking. I brought Malak down to SDCC but the chest piece came apart in travel. After looking at the chest piece and how it sits on my body, I believe in needs to be trimmed down a bit. It kind of looks like I have granny boobs. I'm thinking for the 'metal' belt moving aways from the sintra and using leather and then accenting it with craft foam or other leather pieces. The face plate and neck collar problem is still giving me a headache. One of my garrison members is building a vac table, and said he'd help me build molds once it's complete. At least them I could get all the detailing.
  19. that's the best bend I could get out of the sintra belt, some of the snaps came off right before the pic so it's raised off the under belt.
  20. Well he as close to complete as I'm gonna get tonight. I will take one more crack at him before I leave for San Diego CC on monday. I'm gonna raise up the chest piece and fix the face plate so it isn't ripping up my nose. The colar needs a bit of work as well. Follow the link and let me know what you guys think. http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g103/ ... h%20lords/
  21. Man Malak must have a giraffe neck! Between the colar, the face/head plates, I only have about a centimetre of room for the neck seal.
  22. That's the finished material, it's made out of sintra. My Fett armor is made from the same stuff. I'm sure you're familiar with it. It comes in various colors, I've found that the Tan color is the easiest to work with.
  23. Here are some pics. Like I said this was after initial cuts and bending. As you can see I need to shorten the mouth piece and trim the sides, and of course add the detailing in the front. I have the back 'H' cut and bent but I haven't attached it yet. Let me know what you think...
  24. Yeah I made the mouth piece and back of the head piece already. It still needs to be painted and some of the detailing added ,but the colar is gonna be a tough one to do me thinks.
  25. yes, yes I do. It would be awesome if I could come across something that would work for the collar. Any ideas?
