  1. From what I can see, the WA has made some changes to the costume, because earlier these couldn´t be approved out of the box without mods - one still needs to make sure it is up to the CRL + add the leather belt and boots.  The lightsaber is not required for approval at this moment.

    I found his page :  https://wickedarmor.com/project/darth-nihilus-costume/

It is fully up to the GML to approved the costume, but I always say to people - read the CRL and follow it - if you´re having some questions, go on the TFE forum and we will try to help you out the best we can

  2. Hi

Nice to see you in here too - I´ve made some comments on your wip on NG forum - I´ll put them in here too.

    Hi nice work so far.

It is difficuelt to see the details on your pics - when you take the approval pics, do remember to stand in front of a plain background with good light.

I agree with your own points on things that needs to be fixed. I´ve some comments.

Your "ears" needs to be bigger, creating a more sharp fram at the the top of the mask

The visible spot between you tunic and mask needs to be fixed with black fabric

Your cape is way to long, it has to be around 5 cm of from the ground and be heavily weathered.

Do you have 2 tunics and 2 skirts ?

The outerskirt needs to be visible shorter than the innerskirt = floortlenght or hangs no more than 2 cm from the ground. Needs heavy weathering on both skirts.

Outer tunic needs weatering at the bottom

    Are your sleeves quilted ?

Do your belt have the screws/rivets to hold the smaller belt in place ?

Gloves needs to be form fitted.

  3. No I haven´t seen any - I used two patterns, that I converted into one. I took a tunika and a skirt pattern, put them together and cut it in one front and one back piece. The front piece I made enough wide, to get fabric to make the pleats at the shoulders and to have some gathering in front of dress.

You can use any plain dress pattern and make the mods to it

  4. You can´t use a robe pattern - the Traya dress is not open in the front all the way down.

You need to find a normal dress or tunic pattern - I used this one and just made it longer and put the V opening in the front down to the waist + I made it a bit wider on the front side, so I could make the pleats on the shoulders.  I also made the sleeves a bit wider...

  5. No sorry but this can´t be used for the Darth Traya - as to the CRL :

    Hooded Robe
    For 501st approval:

    • The floor length, loose fitting robe is made of a matte black fabric.
    • The fabric is gathered at the shoulders to create a pleated look that runs down the front all the way from the shoulders to the floor.
    • The front of the robe is open from the shoulders to the belt, creating a "V" shaped opening.
    • From the belt down, the robe is closed in front.
    • The back of the robe is somewhat gathered, but it does not have the same pleating as the front.
    • The hood is attached to the robe, and has a pointed tip. When worn up, the hood falls directly over the bridge of the costumer's nose.

I´m looking forward to seeing your WIP and follow your progress

  6. Hi so great to see you ask in here in the detachment for advice   we are afterall the ones, who knows the costumes for TFE best.

I agree with the other observations - your cape needs to go up over your shoulders, I use snaps to hold it in its place.

Do you have the two skirts, the inner skirt should have a split in the front and the outer skirt an opening in the front  ?

Otherwise - you look great   nice work.

  7. I agree with the two other comments

The gloves needs to be replaced

I also pinned the cape on the shoulders with snaps, to get it to drape down the back.

And if you put it over/behind your shoulders, the lenght should be fine - otherwise it´s an easy fix, better to long, than to short, when one have to fix it
