  1. Great find ! that´s very similar to the fabric that I´ve used ;)

As to a lightsaber, I couldn´t find any either, but then I found this guy, who makes some awesome designs and top quality sabers, so I´ve ordered one from him. He is a bit pricy, but then again, you´re getting a one of the kind sabers... He has a waiting list, and I up in late may/june with my saber...

I´m sending you a pm with his name ;)

  2. Bummer, I was going to use the same skirt for both and make different tops to save even more fabric. :/ But having two different colors of fabric will increase the odds of actually finding one. :)

I'll be making a trip out to the Dallas fabric district in about two weeks. I'm really lucky that there's a warehouse sized store devoted to quinceañera/bridal fabrics out here. I'm hoping I'll have a pile of fabric (or two!) to post afterwards.

I had the same idea, but with the two different colors, we can´t do that - it would have been a whole lot easier ;)

Good luck with your trip - here in DK, we don´t have that many fabric stores, but I was lucky enough to find a perfect fabric in dark burgundy, still looking for the dark red one though... 8)

  3. Hello, long time lurker here, and I’m finally getting ready to start my Visas Marr build! This will be my entry costume for the 501st.

I am interested in making both the Unseen Unheard and KoTOR II versions of the outfit. Ideally I would like to use the same veil for both costumes. However I have noticed that the CRL for the dress color is listed differently between the two. The KoTOR II is listed as being a “dark red”, and the Unseen, Unheard variation is listed as being a “dark burgundy”.

Unlike the sashes, I can’t really notice a difference in the dress fabric. Is this wording arbitrary, or is there an important difference between the two dress colors that I’m not noticing on my monitor?

I have most of my build planned out, and I already have my boots. I plan on doing the Unseen, Unheard variation first. The breezy sleeves will be better for troops here in Texas. ^^

    Hi there

The two colors are very different, it is a dark burgundy and a dark red for the two- otherwise I would have used the veil for both variations too ;)

I also started out with the Unseen, Unheard dress - when you´ve done that one, it´s pretty "easy" to make the other variation by using the pattern from the innerdress and then just make the sleeves different + make a new veil, and the gloves also needs to get the gold pattern done for the KOTOR version.

Take a look around in the Visas Marr section, if you haven´t already done that, there is a lot of great info and how to.

Looking forward to follow your build :) - I´m going to make the KOTOR version also, but right now I´m in the making of Dark Traya.

    Cheers

  4. So, small update...

The maker of the headpiece can´t get it done until late june/july, so my 2 months can´t be reached... but since I´m in no hurry and great things takes time, that´s no biggy... ;)

+ I´ve ordered the belt - so I think, that I´ve got it all covered... still need a black shirt with a turtle neck though.

In 2 weeks I´m going to buy the fabric, got pulled back on that because of a broken car, that needed to be fixed... :(

  5. Hi

Since I got my Visas Marr approved, I´ve been missing something to do, so now I´ve decided to make the Darth Traya costume.

My reason to do so is, that she is also from the EU like the Visas Marr and I like her story + I can use my custom made lightsaber, wenn I get it, to that costume also ;)

So far I´ve gotten the boots, wig and gloves + I´ve just ordered the headpiece too - so next step is, that I´m going to buy the fabric next week.

For the dress I can use the pattern from my Visas Marr innerdress and make the changes like the hood, sleeves and open front along the way.

I also need to buy leather and materials for the belt + a plain black T-shirt...

Hopefully this one will be done in 2 months...

  6. ;)

You´re on the right path and I´m sure, that you will get this to be a great costume that fits you perfect.

As to the black-out mask - my friend uses a normal balaclava and has black fabric clued to the inside of the mask over the eyeholes.

I think you can use a lot of different versions as long as you can see out :))

  7. Hi

    And welcome ;)

I made a Nihilus COFT for one of my friends also as his first 501st. costume - I used a "normal" pattern for the skirt, just make sure to take a little bit extra fabric in the width, so you get the volume and nice look, when walking.

Nope, don´t get what you mean by tight enough ? easier with a pic ;)

Unless you´re extra gifted (like Pamela Anderson :)) ) a normal sports bra is fine, no one can tell, when all the layers are on.

You need to enjoy having this costume on and being all strapped in, is not pleasant. Also remember, that all this fabric is going to be hot + if you put in padding in the front, that it´s going to be even hotter.

I hope, this helps a bit - looking forward to follow your Progress.

  8. Hi

I´m going to use a fishing pole case, it´s a round, hard tube with foam in and there you can easily have the hole lightsaber without taking it apart ;)

And you can even bring extra blades in it too. I bought one for another Sith in my Garrison for his birthday.

  9. Hi all

I did get a reply from Comicvine - but I don´t have a twitter account, so perhaps one from the TFE staff could try and write Chris Avellone, if we still need to get any further info about the character that is ?

    Here is the info :

"Ah, the 501st. I used to work at Obsidian Entertainment with one of your members, I believe, but this was a few years back and I don't recall her name at the moment. You may want to go straight to the source and ask Chris Avellone about Visas Marr, as he was the creative lead on KOTOR2:

If you tell him Rorie sent you, hopefully he'll reply. Hope that helps! "
