  1. Hi

Since I got my Visas Marr approved, I´ve been missing something to do, so now I´ve decided to make the Darth Traya costume.

My reason to do so is, that she is also from the EU like the Visas Marr and I like her story + I can use my custom made lightsaber, wenn I get it, to that costume also ;)

So far I´ve gotten the boots, wig and gloves + I´ve just ordered the headpiece too - so next step is, that I´m going to buy the fabric next week.

For the dress I can use the pattern from my Visas Marr innerdress and make the changes like the hood, sleeves and open front along the way.

I also need to buy leather and materials for the belt + a plain black T-shirt...

Hopefully this one will be done in 2 months...

  2. ;)

You´re on the right path and I´m sure, that you will get this to be a great costume that fits you perfect.

As to the black-out mask - my friend uses a normal balaclava and has black fabric clued to the inside of the mask over the eyeholes.

I think you can use a lot of different versions as long as you can see out :))

  3. Hi

    And welcome ;)

I made a Nihilus COFT for one of my friends also as his first 501st. costume - I used a "normal" pattern for the skirt, just make sure to take a little bit extra fabric in the width, so you get the volume and nice look, when walking.

Nope, don´t get what you mean by tight enough ? easier with a pic ;)

Unless you´re extra gifted (like Pamela Anderson :)) ) a normal sports bra is fine, no one can tell, when all the layers are on.

You need to enjoy having this costume on and being all strapped in, is not pleasant. Also remember, that all this fabric is going to be hot + if you put in padding in the front, that it´s going to be even hotter.

I hope, this helps a bit - looking forward to follow your Progress.

  4. Hi

I´m going to use a fishing pole case, it´s a round, hard tube with foam in and there you can easily have the hole lightsaber without taking it apart ;)

And you can even bring extra blades in it too. I bought one for another Sith in my Garrison for his birthday.

  5. Hi all

I did get a reply from Comicvine - but I don´t have a twitter account, so perhaps one from the TFE staff could try and write Chris Avellone, if we still need to get any further info about the character that is ?

    Here is the info :

"Ah, the 501st. I used to work at Obsidian Entertainment with one of your members, I believe, but this was a few years back and I don't recall her name at the moment. You may want to go straight to the source and ask Chris Avellone about Visas Marr, as he was the creative lead on KOTOR2:

If you tell him Rorie sent you, hopefully he'll reply. Hope that helps! "

  6. Hi

It´s always very exciting to get the fabric and start up...

I´m looking forward to follow your work in progress - make sure to take a look at the other builds and the tutorials. There are a lot of great info on how to ;)

    Cheers

  7. SL = All Sith characters ... (Lord or not Lord makes no difference)

DS = Dark Force characters that are not Sith.

DZ = Characters that are none of the above.

I would have to perform another round of research, on each character, to be completely sure,

but I believe that right off the top... Visas, the various Strakillers, and Lumiya would head back.

    I'm liking it.

Keeps all Sith together, keeps all non-sith together, no need to track down the smaller technical details in the future, and provides for easy organizing of those new characters that are inevitably on the horizon.

So if I understand this correct then the Visas Marr figure will get the SL back ? ;)

  8. Hi all

I´ve just found this site :

    http://www.comicvine.com/visas-marr/4005-47890/

regarding Visas Marr, saying she was a sith apprentice to Darth Nihilus, which we all know, but it also says

    Quote:

"She was a very talented Sith Lord and did everything that Nihilus ordered"

I´ve read a lot about her history and find the facts several places, so it would be fair to put her back into the SL.

    Just my two cents... ;)

  9. I can see Where Damien is coming from ....on paper it is a good idea but it maybe a little late.

May I suggest this option: example when some CRL's where overhauled previous members had the option of staying as per the original approval or upgraded to match the new recruits, members that are under SL atm are still SL but can have the option to be a DS, Only New Members approved will be DS ....so the older members will be classed under SL/DS. Similar to a married and maiden name. When the DS or other initials receive positive feed back, you may find others will fall into place.

Pointing out the CRL's the Pathfinders upgraded their requirements for CRL, mine was before the upgrade my son was after, I added to match those around me even thou I didn't have to, this may also be with TKID.

    Just a thought

I totally agree on this one ;)

  10. First I want to say, that you´re doing a great job ;)

Second - I´m a pretty new "SL" with my Visas Marr costume, and somehow I do like the Dark Side DS designation for these characters, since, for me, a dark Lord is more Vader then Visas Marr.

But with that said, I also wish, that this could be made as a vote for the members, instead of a say so from the LMO, since it´s going to effect a lot of members.

Members, who, like you already wrote, has gotten personal things like tattoos, cards, nametags etc. - like me, I´m going to get new NG cards with my Visas on soon. It would be nice to know, what I shall write on it... perhaps only the number for now ?

I´m looking forward to see, how this will turn out. ;)

  11. So, got the reply from my GML

    1) I need to shorten the veil

    2) I shall be more pall... (that´s an optional accessorie as to the CRL, so I don´t quite understand that one)

    3) I´m not allowed to have the lightsaber on the pics... ( ? )

Well, my mum is going to help me with the veil and the two other points are not a problem...

Hopefully I can re-send pics monday...

You will bring the costume to life with the added makeup.

For the garrison roster pics, they need to be as cannon as possible. So incorrect blasters/sabers/glasses/earrings/blasters are not permitted in them.

You've done a great job and should be proud of your costume.

    Hi

Oki, but shouldn´t the pale make-up then be in the CRL as a must have and not as an optional accessorie ? it´s kind of a bummer to send in approval pics without and then get the info, that one have to have it.

Super - I couldn´t get any explanation from my GML on, why I wasn´t allowed to have it on the pic - I´ve ordered a speciel made lightsaber, but I won´t get it before next year. It looks like the one in the CRL with a red blade ;)

Thank you so much - I´m very happy about it and I´m going to make the changes today with some help from my mum regarding the veil and hopefully get new pics on their way also.

    Cheers

  13. Great day - got the golden pattern on to the sleeves and veil...

I had a feeling that might work out for you since your paints were giving you so much trouble.

Yes that paint was a real pain... but this seems to work, and my mum is helping me out right now with the front piece of the veil. She´s going to sew it on for me... so soon now... :D
