Hi and welcome
What version of Visas Marr are you planning ?
Always good with lots of research and to make try-outs before using the right fabric, so your off to a great start
Regarding the boots, as long as the stretch panels are on the inside of the boot, like around a zipper, I don´t think, that it will be a problem.
Regarding the frustations about not getting anywhere - think, that we have all been there, so you just have to give yourself one goal instead of 10 and take one step of a time. Good things take time
Where do you think a piece is missing from the sewing machine ?? try sew some fabric together with it and see, how it turns out, or put a pic up inhere - perhaps I can help out ?
Looking forward to follow this one

Beautifull work - this is going to be an awesome costume. I love your details and the bracers looks really great !

Wuhuuu congrats !!

Okay, that sounds like a good idea too, looking forward to see it

So I'm very unhappy with my collar decorations. I can't make it exact because, unlike the cartoon, I actually have to put this on. It makes the most sense for the zipper to go in the front but if I do that the collar doesn't come together properly at the bottom, even with hooks and eyes to hold things closed. I suppose I could make the hook and eye combo a bit snugger to close the gap more but it still won't look like the cartoon. Any ideas? I am probably going to end up completely redoing the body suit and putting the zipper in the back so the front looks more accurate. It will be inaccurate in the back then but I found a 30 inch invisible zipper so at least it will be a subtle inaccuracy. (Ignore the white smudges that is just my fabric marking pencil.)
Thoughts? Opinions?
Looks really good - but why don´t you try and put a longer "hidden" zipper backwards on, starting from the midle of the collar and going down ? if you know, what I mean ?
That way it doesn´t get gapes and the zipper can´t be seen

X my fingers - good luck
You look great !

Very nice - looking forward to see the final result

That´s some very good questions...
What will happen to TFE approvable characters ?
Which will stay, which will be deleted, or are we going to keep those, that are already approved ?
I´ve just ordered both belt and headpiece for my Darth Traya build ... don´t hope, that I wont be able to to get the costume approved, when ready

Hi there and welcome
There are two versions of the Nihilus - do you know, which one, that you want to go for ?
I´ve made the COFT version for a friend of mine, which he got approved with
I´m looking forward to follow you build

Great find ! that´s very similar to the fabric that I´ve used
As to a lightsaber, I couldn´t find any either, but then I found this guy, who makes some awesome designs and top quality sabers, so I´ve ordered one from him. He is a bit pricy, but then again, you´re getting a one of the kind sabers... He has a waiting list, and I up in late may/june with my saber...
I´m sending you a pm with his name

Perhaps you should try and send a pm to Thomas, our DL, "The Clone Emperor" regarding approval, I´m sure, that he can help you

Great pics... !
Just remember to get a lot of water, when you troop - the wool can be a silent killer
-
Looks like you had a lot of fun

This looks really awesome...
Going to follow this, because it´s going to be exciting to see it finished...
Great work so far !

Bummer, I was going to use the same skirt for both and make different tops to save even more fabric. :/ But having two different colors of fabric will increase the odds of actually finding one.
I'll be making a trip out to the Dallas fabric district in about two weeks. I'm really lucky that there's a warehouse sized store devoted to quinceañera/bridal fabrics out here. I'm hoping I'll have a pile of fabric (or two!) to post afterwards.
I had the same idea, but with the two different colors, we can´t do that - it would have been a whole lot easier
Good luck with your trip - here in DK, we don´t have that many fabric stores, but I was lucky enough to find a perfect fabric in dark burgundy, still looking for the dark red one though...

Hello, long time lurker here, and I’m finally getting ready to start my Visas Marr build! This will be my entry costume for the 501st.
I am interested in making both the Unseen Unheard and KoTOR II versions of the outfit. Ideally I would like to use the same veil for both costumes. However I have noticed that the CRL for the dress color is listed differently between the two. The KoTOR II is listed as being a “dark red”, and the Unseen, Unheard variation is listed as being a “dark burgundy”.
Unlike the sashes, I can’t really notice a difference in the dress fabric. Is this wording arbitrary, or is there an important difference between the two dress colors that I’m not noticing on my monitor?
I have most of my build planned out, and I already have my boots. I plan on doing the Unseen, Unheard variation first. The breezy sleeves will be better for troops here in Texas. ^^
Hi there
The two colors are very different, it is a dark burgundy and a dark red for the two- otherwise I would have used the veil for both variations too
I also started out with the Unseen, Unheard dress - when you´ve done that one, it´s pretty "easy" to make the other variation by using the pattern from the innerdress and then just make the sleeves different + make a new veil, and the gloves also needs to get the gold pattern done for the KOTOR version.
Take a look around in the Visas Marr section, if you haven´t already done that, there is a lot of great info and how to.
Looking forward to follow your build - I´m going to make the KOTOR version also, but right now I´m in the making of Dark Traya.
Cheers

So, small update...
The maker of the headpiece can´t get it done until late june/july, so my 2 months can´t be reached... but since I´m in no hurry and great things takes time, that´s no biggy...
+ I´ve ordered the belt - so I think, that I´ve got it all covered... still need a black shirt with a turtle neck though.
In 2 weeks I´m going to buy the fabric, got pulled back on that because of a broken car, that needed to be fixed...

Oki, I made the other version, but almost the same
Oh boy, I have absolutely no idea - I´ve got a Singer sewing machine - perhaps you could try and Google your machine and see, what piece is missing ?
Regarding the boots, I would also search a bit more and find that one pair that fits like a glove... I´m going to use my boots for both the Visas Marr, Darth Traya and my new project a Royal Guard... (unless I find a pair of red suede for that one)
