  1. Make sure you post pics once you get the finished product, can't wait to see it.
  2. Nicely done brother, it looks great. Expect a message in the morning about the Sith Acolyte lightsaber and thanks again.
  3. Awesome, if they work out let me know and I'll be sending you some money to grab me one of each haha. Thanks again.
  4. If I were to undertake in this costume, I think I would prefer the Darth Bane without Orbalisks. Similar to the Gentle Giant Maquette put out at SWCVI, but whether or not there is enough reference images of this I can't be sure.
  5. Great work, I still find it amazing on here; all the talent and ingenuity that goes into the costumes. I can sketch, do graphic design and paint, but sculpting and sewing is definitely not my strong suit (haven't tried it yet but I can guess). Can't wait to see the finished product, Asajj is a great character and I hope that in the coming Star Wars stand alone films she has a place in one of them.
  6. Yeah Martha Stewart's fabric paint is also washable, although I don't like the lady she does put out nothing but quality products. I'd still like to find a dyed robe, anyone know a seamstress who creates quality work and is able to accomplish that?
  7. Toddo's hooking me up Besides that Toddo, are you able to change out the switch and put it where the non-operational switch is or replace the parts with some variances from ultrasabers or another saber smith? Either way it looks screen accurate to the trailers, thank you again brother I appreciate it big time.
  8. That's kick a$$, I contacted the seller previously and he won't ship to Canada. He had listings on Etsy and eBay but wouldn't do it.
  9. Got the armor today, great work brother.
  10. Haha Martha Stewart fabric paint, available at all fine stores and Wal-Mart.
  11. Thanks and definitely keep me informed on the Acolyte lightsaber.
  12. NP Toddo, anytime I can help let me know. I've done a lot of research on this costume and have one almost completed. Once done I'll post pics, just gotta do paint on the armor and should be all good. Have you checked out Anchorhead outpost's Sith Acolyte? It's insane seriously.
  13. Let me know if you have any parts available at the moment, the mask, robe, etc... I'll take one of everything you got. I already have a full acolyte costume but it definitely doesn't compare to the detail and intricacy of your build. Seriously hands down best work I've seen, keep it up.
  14. Can you advise me on where I can get a nice neck seal and an accurate lightsaber?
  15. I'm Jon, good to meet you. Post some pics, Darth Malgus is unreal character and to see a cyborg Maul would be great; with the Mandalorian legs or the Night Sisters legs?
  16. I think any material will work as long as the texture is proper, definitely not see through and it needs to lay nicely so avoid thicker stiff materials. I have a cotton blend and used crimson red fabric paint for the stripes, just lay the paint on thin otherwise it stiffens up and becomes too bright. As for length mine comes to my heels without boots, saves damage when wearing it but still has the proper look. There's others who have found a seamstress who is making them and dying the red into the sleeves, I'm waiting for there reply and if it looks good and is high quality I'll order one as well; let me know if you're interested. Hope any of my babbling helps you with your decision and good luck with your costume.
  17. Amazing work seriously, will you be offering a complete kit for sale?
  18. You're welcome and seriously nicely done. If you know anyone who makes the neck seal or the Sith Acolyte dyed robe shoot me the info please and thank you.
  19. The first robe I had made for me was sewn on red striping as well, the second one I used the red fabric paint and it turned out quite nice. I'd still like to get a dyed robe, just to make everything as perfect as possible. Your gauntlets look unreal, great work. I'd like to attempt to start builds, I've got art down pat but have never sculpted or tried anything of that variety. I love looking at the builds people have done on here, some seriously talented people on here including yourselves.
  20. Just odd to think, especially if you google the costume there's tons of people with great Darth Bane's.
  21. For sure, that's all I have left for my SA costume as well; paint the armor. I think I'll start with a black primer, then matte black rustoleum, followed by a couple coats of polished silver. Then once you sand off a few scuffs you have automatic blaster/saber marks. Post the pics as you go please and thank you.
  22. Not that I'm planning on building a Darth Bane costume but I would think he would be part of the Expanded Universe. I've also seen a lot of Darth Bane costumes, with orbilisks and without. Just wondering why one of the most noted Sith Lords ain't an accepted costume of the EU. Just a weird question I had, please enlighten me because I'm sure it's an obvious answer like "he's part of this detachment". Thanks in advance.
  23. I agree with you on most of what you said, but at the same time not much has been shown of the Sith Acolytes besides whats in the trailers. So when people are putting together there costumes they're is definitely some leeway. You've definitely done your homework with the close ups, one other point I would like to make is that on the robe the color is dyed or painted and not strips sewn on; which has seemed to elude everyone as well. I've used fabric paint and lightly coated my robe to give it the dark red color while maintaining it's flexibility and look. My armor is being made by TC9948, and my mask was made by Robert at mywickedarmor.com; they both do great work. I will attach the armor to a vest much like you stated. As for the leather under the forearms, it's an unnoticeable detail so I'll stick to my black body suit and if required could have the stitched pattern put on it. At this point I'm happy that it has become an accepted costume, even if some of the accepted ones are less then satisfactory looking. Looking forward to seeing your finished product, you're obviously going for perfection so should be great.
