  1.  I already have an officer approved iv just been looking for a second costume

Then you should list your TK number in your profile and request 501st member status in the post at the top of the page with a link to your profile.

  2. Find official Star Wars reference material, 360° view of the costume you are interested in making, can be from several different official star wars sources, nothing from FAN Made stuff or fan made costumes, must be official Star Wars references, ie Star Wars comic books, books, book covers, posters.

What you make, needs to look just like the reference materials you used.  We will need to see what you used as reference materials, to verify that it is official Star Wars references and not something FAN MADE, and to verify that what you made is in fact, just like the reference material used.

Then if its something no one else has ever made before, and it passes quality standards, you will be a Detachment 1st for said costume, and a CRL will be made for the costume with your pics as reference material for the CRL that will then help the next person interested in making the same costume, so others may benefit from your research and work in creating a new Costume to the Detachment.

New Costume to the Detachment usually means that there is no one out there that is making the items you need, so you will have to be multi talented in working with several different types of materials for armor, leather, cloth, etc. and fabricate everything yourself. Not the easiest thing for your 1st costume if you are brand new to the Hobby.  Price can also get up there, depending on materials used, and how many tries it takes you to get the look right.

Have fun, but realize it could be a long expensive road set before you.

  3. Good answer: there is a CRL, "Clone Emperor", it is just empty!

    http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:SL_clone_emperor

There is 1 person, with 1 Version, of the many different looks of Darth Bane, in the entire 501st that I am aware of.

If he is willing to share pics and a write up, we would be more than happy to add them to the CRL.

With out him sharing pics and info, it makes it a bit difficult to finish the CRL.

We have asked, as of yet, no reply.

If you were planning on making the same version or a different look of Darth Bane, we would be glad to get your pics and suggested write up of said character.

We try and work with people making new costumes to the Flagship Eclipse Detachment, so there is a CRL for the next person.

If no one has made the version of the costume you are looking for yet, there could be several reasons why.

You are welcome to make a version of Darth Bane, and then sharing pics, so we can make a completed CRL.

  4. I am a fan of leather dye.

Use the paint brush for the 1st coat and paint it on, will leave your paint strokes everywhere.  2nd coat use a damp cloth with more dye, helps to blend it all in so it looks the same and the paint strokes are no longer visible.  3rd coat is more or less just checking for any spots you missed in the 1st 2 coats.

If you have more fun with kiwi, then more power to you, I just find dye a lot easier and less work.

  5. I play the game, I am quite familiar with the graphics, you can also spin the character around.

I already said my piece, I think the graphics are too poor quality to use for reference materials.

I am not going to beat a dead horse.

You are more than welcome to try anything you want to.

I don't see where poorer quality reference materials. to what we already have in the CRL will do to help you, but knock yourself out.

  6. Without you providing pics of what you are talking about, really hard to comment either way.

It has to look right, to be accepted.  If it looks right, it will be accepted.  If it looks wrong it will be rejected.

No one can say if something you have not shown us, looks right or not, by a description.

Try posting pics of what you are talking about, if you are interested in feedback that will help you on your journey.

  7. Hey Team! Excited to be apart of TFE. But I am looking at Mara Jade. Finally approved in my Black Bodysuit. But there is no dedicated area to post about her Black Nebula suit? Is this something that will be rectified?

Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Just as all Starkiller are in one area, even though there are several versions of different costumes to choose from, so are all the Mara Jade in one area.

    Look here:  http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/forums/index.php?/forum/94-mara-jade-arica/

If you don't find what you are looking for, feel free to start a new topic, and create what you want to see.

  8. contact@bioware.com but you will probably have to keep bugging them to get a response, as they are probably getting 1,000 emails a day, and cant possibly answer them all.

    other option you could try:

-USA: 1-(855)-345-2186 (Support available from 9.00-21.00 CST)
    -UK:  +44 (0)203 0141 826 (Support available from 15.00-3.00 GMT)
    -France: +33 (0) 4 81 68 10 51 (Support available from 11.00-20.00 CEST)
    -Germany: + 49 (0)221 8282 9212 (Support available from 11.00-20.00 CEST)

Also, do you have a suggestion on how I should reach out Bioware as well?

  9. Interesting costume, if you are going to make it all on your own, and have no experience in this, its going to be a long build of trial and error, I would guess. It should be a good way to increase your knowledge in costume building.

    Good luck to you!

Not really sure where these would fit in, as they are more or less a 3rd faction, to a 2 faction system.  While neither Sith nor Jedi, there main focus is on Upholding Justice (which really depends on your point of view).

  10. A picture is worth a 1,000 words.

If you are bringing up a post from 4 years ago (a lot can happen in 4 years), I would suggest posting pictures of what you are talking about, to help motivate a response.

    Just a suggestion.

  11. I may have worded my reply a bit wrong at the start, not that you got the wrong impression from me.

Yes you are more than welcome to use our forums for your WIP of this costume.

Maybe even get some helpful comments or tips from our members towards your build.

Typically if a costume was seen in a Star Wars film, it will not be part of this detachment, once it is accepted.

Costumes for this detachment normally will be found in Books, Comic books, animated series, and video games.

But for the WIP of this costume, there is a wealth of experienced members in this detachment, that might be able to help you with any aspect of your costume you are looking for help with.

So enjoy your stay, while you are working on this costume.

  12. If you are unfamiliar with the process, once you have costume 100% complete, then you submit everything to your GML, who will then submit it all to an LMO, who will take it from there.

Then you will find out if it is approved and accepted into the 501st, and then it will probably land in No Detachment support on the CRL list.

  13. Interesting choice of a costume.

You do understand that this character will most likely end up in Costumes with no Detachment Support, and not part of this detachment?

If the whole character is not visible, you might have a hard time finishing the Costume, without source reference material for everything, like the boots or shoes.

  14. Is this colour adequate?

    • The silvery white hair is long enough to reach the chest in front and the shoulder blades in the back.

I would say it looks quite similar.  But I would wait and talk to someone who has made this costume, and find out exactly what they used, and then compare it to what you found, and then make a decision.

  15. Throw the cape off the shoulders a bit more, its not a reason to not approve, just a small correction to the wearing of the costume.

The frontal pic with your arms spread out is perfect!

  16. I decided to start with a Jawa for my 501st acceptance costume so I can take a loooong time to do Visas Marr right without feeling like a failure.

Just to be clear, I think you should still reach for your desired costume goal. Making a Jawa, was just a suggestion, to get your foot in the door in the meantime.

Making a Jawa, is the cheaper way to have an approved costume, be a member of the 501st, so you can start trooping and having fun, while you are continuing your journey towards your favorite costume goal.

  17. I would so be thrilled if the 501st would consider a Generic Sith!    :))

Opening the door to "Generic Sith" membership in the 501st, would open the door to costumes that don't meet any standards of quality and could be any sort of thrown together anything.  I have seen many Generic Sith costumes posted online, some are top notch well made and designed costumes, others are thrown together and look like crap in comparison to 501st standards, where do you draw the line?

2 different clubs trooping together is one thing, allowing "Generic Sith" into the 501st is quite something different.

Costumes in the 501st require reference material to compare to, and then to make a CRL for said costume, so Generic would not work in the 501st, under our current setup and rules.

  18. I am in contact with this member, she is currently moving, but as soon as she gets a chance she will be joining this detachment again, and then may also be able to provide pictures and descriptions for her costume.

So have to wait and see for right now, but it could be that I can get you some reference materials and descriptions in the near future for this costume, and also that maybe we can finally finish the CRL for this costume.

  19. Yes, this costume can still be made and will be still accepted into the 501st, even though the CRL is empty.

Just to be clear, the RULES, have changed since this post was started back in 2014.

No "NEW" costumes will be accepted into the 501st, without a completed CRL to go with it.

All "existing" costumes that have already been accepted into the 501st (meaning they show up on the list in the CRL), will still be accepted, even if the CRL is empty.

If you are going to make this costume, we would love to get Pics, so we can finish the CRL for this costume, to better help the next person wishing to make this costume in the future.

I have sent an email to this person, seeing if she would be interested in joining this detachment once again, and if she would be interested in sharing photos and descriptions of her costume, so it may be of some help to you in your journey to make this costume, and also so we might finally get this CRL completed.

I will post any info I get, so it may be of help to your build.

  20. FYI: Unfortunately when you see "Guest" under their name, its means that this account has been deleted, so they are probably no longer active in this detachment, or have started a new account.

  21. You could try the different sites on line, just be careful of those selling junk that won't be accepted by the 501st.

You could also ask some of the people on here that have that costume, maybe they can tell you where they got theirs from or at least more info to get you started.

If you think that just posting a thread saying you want to buy this costume is going to lead to you getting the costume, majority of the time, not.

You have to be pro active, Search online, ask people questions, search out and find the answers you want.

Research can be brain numbing, we have all been there.  When I made my starkiller, I got zero help from my Garrison or on here really.  But you know what, if you really want to have this costume, you will find a way.  If you don't invest the time, energy, and money it takes, you wont get very far.

I like to think of our Costumes as the exotic animals of Star Wars.  Some costumes in this Detachment can run as high as $8,000, if you can even find someone to buy the pieces off of. If people are looking for a new costume, but don't have the money, time , and energy to invest, I would suggest going over to the KC clan and making a Jawa.  There is a woman over there "Pixeldust" who does great work and you can get a Jawa costume done for around $350, for the basic approvable Jawa, all you need then is 1 Bandolier and some rubber boots and some glue.
