  1. Armour update:

Got the forearms and handplates weathered and laquer sealed.

The chest and shoulders ( which won't be seen ) are weathered and sealed.

Quite happy with the metal look.

    more later......

Your build is looking great! I can't wait to see pics of your AB piece- I am still working on mine.

  2. Anyone able to contact Darman for the neck seal? It's the last piece I'll need for the build (aside from fingers). If my mask came in today I may post pics. Robe is done, armor mostly done.

Congrats on almost finishing the armor. I can't wait to see pics!

  3. Hi guys.

This costume is the reason I joined flagship eclipse. Your research and builds so far are excellent and you've definately inspired me to get started ( mask ordered today ).

    Darren

Glad to have you on board! I can't wait to see what you are working on. :D

  4. _Jaster":jqotbbru]Anyone out there making neck seals?

I got mine from Bobby Stout in Florida and I love it. TK 7100 recommended him. His name on the 501 boards is Darman (CC 9356).

  5. _Jaster":z31yekr7]Got some painting done today, just the chest, back, cod and butt and have also made a start on the mask.

For the armour I'm doing a 2 tone scheme, I've notices in the vids some parts are a bit lighter than others.

The lighting's not the best so I'll try and take better pics later.

Looking good! I actually like the way the mask looks with just one side painted in color-- it makes it look ominous.

  6. What primer did you use on the resin or plastic? Did you use special primer or just any kind?

I am guessing you are talking about the glove armor-- I used an adhesion promoter from an auto shop (Dupli-Color CP199 Clear Adhesion Promoter Prime). TK 7100 recommended it to me.

And for the sleeves, I ended up using the Jacquard Textile Colors from dickblick.com which Katie (Aysel) recommended. It looks great and went on really smoothly.

  7. ...aw that's just BRILLIANT.

LOL- thanks! Although I think I got the idea from a forum message or something online, so I can't take too much credit. I am glad it worked though!

  8. _Jaster":3ldllh23]Looks good mate, what material you use for the robe?

Thanks! I think it turned out really nice. I used a waffle weave fabric, originally two sets of shower curtains. It was just barely enough fabric....

  9.

I think, because of the trailer, the concept art, and the game itself, those might count as three sources (I have seen the masked Acolytes in the game in the later levels).

As for their lightsaber, it is all the same hilt. The Acolytes are more like Imperial Knights, in that their saber is standard issue. They don't make their own until they are taken as an Apprentice.

As for what it looks like, all the Acolyte Sabers in the Cinematic trailers were identical. Here is the model they used:

Does this custom saber look close enough?

  10. I've been looking at the chest armor. I know TK-7100 painted the very center black, where the right and left sides join. It's hard to tell from a lot of shots because the armor looks so dark, but I found a few shots where it looks like the center joining section matches the color of the rest of the chest armor. I think I may keep the entire chest piece the same silver-metallic color, except for the accent lines.

    Does anyone have any input?

  11. I am going to be painting the stripes on my robe tomorrow and starting to paint the rest of my armor. Guess I need to make the greeblies for the thigh armor- thanks Tk7100 for the reference pic!

  12. Your boots look great! To be honest, I just went out and got some black work boots that I thought would be ok... I think they should work alright. Yours certainly look very nice!

  13. Still waiting to see if more True Grip Extreme gloves are made in XL. I found these... any critiques? I am hoping to get the gloves soon since TK7100's finger armor should be arriving in the mail any day now.

  14. Where did you get that cape made at?

    Kenneth

My mom made the cloak. LOL- I wouldn't even try. She started with the pattern at this site: http://www.thejediassembly.com/tutorials.php?id=sh5

We made several changes- much smaller hood, shorter sleeves, and took some off the front panels to allow for a more open cloak so you can see the armor.

One suggestion if you or someone else makes your robe: we bought cheap material and she made a practice version. She sewed really big, loose stitches so that it was easy to take the pieces apart, trim the material to improve things, and then re-sew it all back together. We probably did this at least three times.

  15. VERY NICE!!! WTG!! ..GREAT JOB!! :D

Thanks Christopher! I really appreciate the compliment, especially coming from someone with your talent.

I know some of you guys are using a coarser fabric for the robe... hopefully my waffle weave is ok.
