  1. As I promised.... the approval pics. I sent both masks because I want them both approved.

    Hope you like it.

Nice job! Good luck on your approval. Be sure to let us know what you hear!

  2. Your build is looking great. I can't wait to see your final approval pics!

I have a question for you- are the grooves in the armor (I sometimes call them "accent lines") a darker color because you didn't use the Rubb n Buff in them and just let the color of the armor show, or did you trace them somehow with a darker color?

  3. My combination Kevin W and Kevin B armor was deferred by the LMO this weekend. He said it appeared to be Jedi armor and lacked details. He also said it needed more weathering which I can understand.

The conclusion I am reaching from his comment about the details is that perhaps they won't be accepting the Kevin armor anymore. I don't know if anyone other than Darren1970 was cleared with that armor.

I'm a bit bummed. I'm trying to determine if I want to purchase the Wolfgang armor. I'm hoping to hear from some approved Acolytes in America to hear how they painted their armor. I've heard the paint used by Wolfgang isn't available in USA.

  4. Got my mask from Mynock last week and am finally able to post a few pics. I am really please with how it came out! I was able to frighten the heck out of some of my middle school students. ;) Now I just need to finish the rest of my armor!

  5.

    Hi mate.

Yep, industrial velcro to attach the forearms and elbows to the 'vader arms'

The shoulders are velcro'd to the undersuit. At present the biceps ( which I attach 'clamshell style' ) basically stay in place due to their tightness. Will probably attache them more permanently tho.

    Darren

Thanks Darren! The rest of my Kevin B? armor is being shipped, and I have fabric ordered for the Vader Arms. I can't wait to get some momentum again and try to finish this build!

  6. Got a bit more done today.

I've attached the elbow and forearm pieces to the 'vader arms' so they can be pulled on as a sleeve.

Also got the butt plate and biceps sorted ( these are KB's parts - the rest of the armour is KW ).

Last things to do are the boot armour ( on the way ) and I have to make the 'spike' greeblies for the forearms.....then it's in for clearance.

    Darren

Darren- how did you hook the armor to the vader arms? Velcro?

Also, how did you hook the biceps to the shoulder bells? Elastic?

  7. I still have quite a bit to do... I've been working on an ATA TK build

    1) Get mask and paint

    2) Get additional armor pieces from Chris and paint

    3) Finish trimming ab

    4) Attach belt and magazine pouches

    5) Strap everything

  8. _Jaster":22wqf95h]Yeah I think we should all just stick with black, it makes it easier for me to, I can just butcher my spare Vader top or.... what do you guys think of this?

    th_Vaderarms.jpg

This is from a Darth Vader Eco Leather Body Suit 3 Pcs, I sent them a message to see what it would cost to just get the arms/undershirt and they said US$150 shipped.

There is another one like this without a zip up back, it's just like a long sleeve t-shirt with Vader arms, still waiting on info on it though.

I'm down with sticking with black. It's going to make things easier for all of us. Jaster- I like the pic but using your spare Vader top would save you $$.

I think I will ask my mom to make me a set of arms by adding the pleated lines down the sides of some synthetic leather.

  9. Now to the cod/ab section.

    More to come shortly.

    Looks great!

I wasnt sure if I wanted to trim the top of the ab off like you and TK 7100 did because I didn't know if I wanted a big gap between my ab and the chest piece. But since both of you guys are doing it I guess I probably will.
