  1. First off welcome to the forums and good luck on your Nihilus build.  For the cape/hood the material should be straight down the back of the crown piece leaving no bunching around the back of the neck.  There should be two ends of the material that drape down in the front and come together in the front to form a knot.

For the lightsaber you may want to look into this one https://www.ultrasabers.com/product-p/stunt-bellicose.htm  It's one of the closest I've been able to find to a generic KOTOR style lightsaber.

If you have any more questions I'm more than happy to help.

  2. She could get added to the 501st, but before that can happen there will need to be a CRL written for the character.  Don't let that stop you though because CRL's can be added as long as there is someone willing to put in effort to write them.  Good luck on the costume, and I look forward to seeing your progress.

  3. 1. I have the outer skirt sewn to the inner of my costume so I don't know what it would be like any other way.  I'm guessing as long as no one can tell the difference it should be fine to sewn it to the inner skirt.  The only real time I have issues with stepping on my skirt is going up stairs.

    2.  I don't have a saber that is an exact match to the picture either, but as long as it is a KOTOR style hilt, meaning it closely matches something you'll find in game, I would think it should be fine.

    3.  I'm not sure about wearing pants over your boots.  I suppose you're really only going to see the toes of the boots so it could probably work.  That may be something up to you GML to decide.

  4. Yes, I used a black cotton fabric for the sleeves.  It should look a little different texture than the rest of the costume.  I also used batting in between the fabric of the sleeves to give it the quilted look.

  5. I personally used raw black silk for the material for mine.  I think some people used piano linen.

There are many different ways to make the shape of the head.  I purchased mine so I can't really say what it is to make one.

    Good luck with your costume!

  6. The top of the boots really won't be seen because of the skirt.  I don't think the zipper is as big of a deal either for the same reason.  My boots have a zipper on the inside.  For the pants under the skirt I wear black pajama pants.  I have worn dress pants before but, personally for me, they were a little harder to stuff into my boots.

  7. Yes that is the pattern I used.  For the sleeves we just tore the sleeves off of an old dress shirt and copied them.

For the hood, obi, and everything else I just followed the directions on the website I linked before.

  8. I purchased the mask already painted so I can't really help you there.

For fabric I used Black Raw Silk.  I know some people have used a type of linen but I'm not sure what kind.

For templates on the tunics I used Simplicity pattern 5840.  Just leave the sleeves off of the tunic.

A great reference site that I used for the costume is http://chucrew.com/Nihilus/nihilus.html

    Good luck with you costume!

  9. I've finally finished the crown piece.  I've put it together with the mask and I think it turned out alright.20151124_171549_zpsotdbk7dq.jpg

The knot isn't finished yet, but the rest is.  Please let me know what you guys think.

  10. Working on putting the final touches on the costume now.  I've started working on the weathering of the fabric and I've started gluing fabric to the crown piece and a elastic strap to the mask.

I'm guessing I'll be all done within a few days.  Hopefully I'll have pictures of the final product up soon.

Thank you again to everyone for your help.
