My metal worker really hit it out of the park with the cloak clasp... Please note that the Aurebesh says Mara Jade, and the hook itself is the Flagship Eclipse detachment symbol, how cool is that?!?!

  2. I am only a hopeful member for the 501st and the Flagship Eclipse attachment.... so I had to hear this by word of mouth since it was posted on the 501st members only forum.

They are not allowing certain EU characters to march in the Star Wars Weekends Motorcade this year!

Is the word spreading here too?!?! Is there a list of taboo characters?

Has this information been disseminated to FE - EU card carrying members? Right now us hopeful members are having to hear it by word of mouth :aarg:

Removed foot guards (easier than expected they weren't riveted in like originally though, just velcroed)

  5. Hello TFE Folks,

I have been chatting it up with the Bloodfin Garrison and Florida Garrison about SWW this year.

(I still remain hopeful that I will get my Mara Jade approve by then but will be going the third weekend (May 28th - June 1st) of the event as a spectator if need be, still love the event in or out of uniform!)

I have heard that TFE has a list of which characters from the EU are allowed to march and which ones are taboo at this event.

Where do I find this infamous list?

    Take care, Abbie/Enyo

PS any of you folks planning to go down for SWW and if so, which weekend?

  6. The Shin Guards are in that "The Clone Emperor" Thomas suggested I should try. They are large enough, thank goodness... However the knee portion seemed a little flat tom me, what I mean is is bowed out and didn't curve around my knee they way I thought it should so I am using a heating pad, wine bottle and belt (didn't want to put stress on the original straps) and slowly curving them into shape.

The link shows my boots that I already have and hope are acceptable. The shine guards before modification on, as well as pictures of the steps I am taking for modification. In addition the last picture I had to laugh, while toasting the current shinguard I started to check out the other one to find the foot guards were only velcroed in rather than riveted like I originally though, yeah one last mod I don't have to make!

All thoughts and opinions, good or bad are welcome, tips too!

    Thanks everyone!

  7. Hi

I´m going to use a fishing pole case, it´s a round, hard tube with foam in and there you can easily have the hole lightsaber without taking it apart ;)

And you can even bring extra blades in it too. I bought one for another Sith in my Garrison for his birthday.

That's a really good idea as well, I will have to check that out!

  8. I use a rifle case for my blades as well, it's perfect, easy transport and it keeps them well protected. I carry four blades in mine and never had a problem.

Very kewl, great to have another confirmation on that!

  9. The Damascus Shin Guards came in last night, they are the right length :tkdance:

I noticed that they came in with a faux leather material stretched over the knee and not cloth so I should be able to shine them up with no problem!

Only problem I see, and I hope I can fix, is that the knee part is huge on me, and needs to curl a bit to bend around my knee to look right. They were cold, sitting on my front step when I arrive home last night, so I remain hopeful that once warmed up I can start curling them and shaping them a bit more. I will post pictures of my progress.

    Take care, Abbie

  10. There was a problem with supplies, so I was told but it took several months to get the replacement.

Oh Holy Hell... Ok I will be sure to keep that in mind. I am in the process of ordering a riffle case with egg crate foam in it to store the lightsaber and blade it.

This solution was recommended to me by someone in my local garrison, I have been told it will old 3 to 4 lightsabers, no problem... might put other gear in there, or just my weapons, we'll see how it goes.

  11. Parks hilts are some of the best looking you can find, just be extremely careful with the blade, mine broke just being in storage. The replacement time was atrocious.

Roger that, I will keep that in mind.

thinking about getting a pelican case for it for storage.

PS how long was the wait for the new blade? (the standard 8 to 12 weeks?)

  12. I ordered it... I heard about the same from everyone that the hilt replication of this saber is the closest out there to Mara's and the hilt itself is awesome.

I would only use the blade for photo shoots anyway, so I am just happy it might be durable enough for this sometimes clumsy person, that and I like that and I like that you can order replacement blades.
