Just to clarify, they are having you remove the "pull on" straps at the very top? the part of the boot that is hidden by your pants? that no one should ever see anyway?

is this standard or is this particular GML just being SUPER picky?

I had to remove the "pull on" straps. In fairness to the GML, the CRL does state that "there are no visible laces or additional strapping outside of the single strap matching the reference images". No biggie, the cobbler did it for free, he just wanted to keep the leather strips.

Just did some digging and even Vader's Vault's version is similar to the one that US sells. If the biggest issue is blade color, you can get any US hilt with a purple blade or you can swap the color of your current blade to purple fairly easily.

I'm referring to the white-silver type of hilt on the bottom of the image. I'd like to find that one, that I would get with a purple blade. I have the one with the gold around the emitter, as I bought the Savior with a red blade from Ultrasabers.

Hopefully not too late, but I think these look just fine.

    KUDOS on the square toe!

Unfortunately, my local GML advised that the boots were too white, so I've been in the process of re-blackening them. So far, it seems to be giving off the kind of battered color I've been hoping for. I've also since had a cobbler remove the straps at the top of the boots at the GML's request. It's gradual, but they're coming along. Thanks for getting back to me!

  4. Hey everyone, I thought I'd check in on a piece of my Revan costume that's more down the line. Currently, I have the Ultrasabers Savior in red. I would like to get the other KOTOR hilt model (pic, bottom hilt) in purple. US doesn't appear to sell this version. Does anyone have any saber site recommendations for this model? So far, I've only seen the Rev-n Standard from Vader's Vault, which may be a bit pricier than I would like.

  5. Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone could provide some advice on how to give the Revan boots the Level 2 silvery-gray weathering. I followed Darth Cephalus's video on Youtube, which recommended getting Kiwi shoe whitener & applying/wiping it off of the boot to give it a "buffed-in" appearance. Mine came out looking too white. Am I able to save this with shoe black, & how can I improve the look?

Thanks so much for any help!

  6. Hey everyone, I've been a big fan of what the 501st does & wanted to join for a long time, but was just never in a financially-sound enough position to join them. That's fortunately turned around, and I've decided I want to costume a Darth Revan, as he is my favorite Sith Lord after finishing the KOTOR games. Now, I'm not a handy person, so I've been looking to obtain pieces of the CRL-approved Revan via purchases whenever I can. I came across the Wicked Armor v2 Revan set, and it almost looks too good to be true. It appears to match the specs, but would someone more experienced be able to confirm if that outfit meets all of the criteria?

I do have an Ultrasabers Savior coming, as I've had good experiences purchasing from US in the past. I've decided to do the boots by hand, after seeing the outfit does not come with them & being unable to find anything close in stores. I happened upon Darth Cephalus's guide on Youtube, and I've also ordered some Durango harness boots to modify.

Any advice or store recommendations is greatly appreciated!
