Darth Malak Boots

Working with a cadet (who should be on the board shortly) About the Malak boots. I was researching them since they are somewhat complex for him and ran across these "half chaps" which look like a good base for building on since there seems to be a similar shape on the front of the boot.
Just looking for opinions if modified to the visual a two part boot would be acceptable for approval at some point.
