  1. so upon review I will be doing the obi belt version for approval and official troops. and I'll be making the draped belt pieces for my own amusement :)

I do want to make sure I have the obi belt version correct though. the obi is covered by a straight belt piece without the 2 draped pieces correct? just making sure that's the correct way I see it.

  2. thank you everyone for your comments! they are most appreciated!!!! I think I will be doing at least 2 different belts in the end.

and yes I am indeed looking for 501st membership :)

for the skirt, I made it 1 to 2 sizes too big so I could use an elastic band and have lots of natural pleating and for more volume in the skirt. I fugured that the top would always be covered with a belt of sorts so that wouldn't matter. I'll have to reevaluate the skirt with the different images everyone has suggested however.

I am planning on getting an athletic shirt in a light grey and modifying the sides to fit my needs. does anyone know enough about different paints and markers to know if a fabric paint or fabric marker would work on that type of material? ie: under armour/dri fit material. I'd like to try that for the lines instead of a striped fabric or added panel.

I decided to put a slit up the front since the image looks like it's supposed to be almost samurai in nature to give it that affect. ps:I really suck at this forum thing so I apologize for all the awkward link posts

  4. by request here's the information on the image I chose. the image was created by the artist Dermot Power when he worked on attack of the clones as a concept designer. it was the initial concepts that ultimately led to count dooku but when they were coming up with concepts for clone wars, they liked the concept so well, they used this as the starting point for ventress. so it's official Star Wars art but there's no other images that match this costume specifically unfortunately.

Any input on my proposed change would be great since I'm going with a different concept idea than previously tried.

    Thanks so much!

so here's the original concept art, the 501st approved costume, and my doodle for the proposed change is like to make to my costume to make it more like the concept art. I want to change the belt harness to cloth harness that's part of the skirt like in the concept art. hopefully going to the store to start picking out fabrics and prop stuffs in the next few days! so EXCITED!

  6. HI! I'm nicole and I'm just starting to get together a ventress concept costume. I've never done this before and I've no friends into this sort of thing so any advice and help would be most appreciated!

I'm in the process of getting my thoughts together to go on a fabric hunt! I'm so excited to get this going!!!

I'm really wondering where I should/can buy a bald cap and the face paint at. Any suggestions and best products to use?

  7. Not sure if this allowed here or maybe another forum. I'm new to the forum stuff. I'm trying to join with a Ventress night sisters costume but was wondering if anyone knew someone hat had one that I could contact for info and to bounce ideas off of. Thanks
