I have been thinking of making a latex rubber body suit with the sith tattoos printed on it for two reasons:

a. Ease and speed of dressing

b. Consistency and quality of tattoos and body colouraing (not being asymetic or rubbing off)

What do people think???

I don't know about latex/rubber, but last I heard bodysuits (generally referring to spandex) were not allowed. As far as I know, the reasoning is that it doesn't look realistic. Latex or rubber, if done right, I think could look very realistic, so I personally think the LMOs would have to see it before passing judgement.

Body suits would not be allowed for Talon unless it could be done in such a way that it was indistinguishable from real skin (no seams around the neck/wrists, no wrinkles, matching tone to the face, etc...)

I am not 100% saying that it could never ever be done, but it's EXTREMELY unlikely that anyone could pull it off in such a way to work.

Essentially you'd need to be able to submit high res pics of the costume where we couldn't tell at all that it was a suit.

Would it be a pre-made body suit or are you planning on just painting latex all over yourself to make the suit?

The later would be a bad idea A) Latex does not come off of hair, it will pull it out where ever there is hair on the skin, and B) Latex shrinks when it dries so your will feel like you are being "squished" if used on your whole body.

That being said I have seen some pretty amazing latex suits out there. The best is to take a body cast of yourself, then add about a half inch to your size and use that to put the latex on. You account for the shrinking and there will be no hair to pull out. However latex is very fragile so you will have to have something underneath it to support it (like a spandex body suit). I've seen it done, but usually in sections rather then a whole one piece suit. Individual pieces for legs, arms and torso. The nice thing is the latex can then be blended into the skin at the suits edges making it look seamless, but this is quite tricky.

I use liquid latex body paint a lot already (for body paint)

I was thinking of a rubber suit ... won't post a pic as they are generally from fetish and porn sites. this would be skin tight and have the texture of skin (like the latex body paint) with the benefit of having consistency in the sith tattoos and the colour, I find even the best body paint needs to be retouched and rubs off in armpits and at clothing lines.

Just throwing the idea out there.

I value the idea of latex bodysuit few months ago... I had to see MANY web pages latex fetishists :shock: . Discarded the idea because it is VERY expensive and until we see it as recruiters can not say if it is valid or not.

If you dare to the project I will be waiting to see the results.

I am going to start with some leggins and see how it goes ... the belt will cover the waistband and then I don't have to get someone to paint my butt :P

Another thing to consider is that what is Legion approved and what is acceptable to troop in various from region to region.

Some garrisons are OK with less formal costumes at some events.

So, once a Talon is approved the "right" way with paint, it might be an option to use a suit sometimes, depending on the event and the prevailing attitude in the garrison.

I agree with stormtrooperguy. In addition, some events are not much good to go teaching body, hospitals and events with lot of childrens, tights may be the best option for them can enjoy a really Sith twilek without problems about semi-nudity. All with the consent and OK of the garrison.
