Mara Jade Black Nebula Build

Hi, I've been doing research and feel ready to get started on Black Nebula Mara but still have some questions if anyone can help out:

Fabric:  first I'm at the point of tears trying to find the "right" maroon, I'm not the best with shades anyway and was hoping someone had an article number or something they could share that would allow me to easily get the right colour.  I'd prefer to buy from JoAnn's if possible.  Knits were suggested to me, sounds comfortable  If possible I'd like layers that don't make me look like a big blob, something that still let's me have a waist and keep a shape would be nice.

I have leggings for the body suit--I intend to do leggings and false sleeves so it's one less layer.

 

Patterns:  Any that have been used for the dress and vests?  at least as base?
